I'm confused how some people keep making claims, not backing them up, then accusing others of making claims and not backing them up when they didn't.

Incredibly short-sighted people that are completely full of themselves, good times.

Vietnam, the first Gulf War and WWI aren't a case of a pre-emptive war, since a war was already happening numbnuts.  Our involvement was to aid allies and/or to prevent further aggressions.

Unbreakable seems to have some serious issues with basic definitions of terms if not outright facts.

Define a Blockade

Define a Pre-emptive War

Then maybe we can see where you're coming from and you won't sound so g'damn crazy when you talk

It's like you randomly substitute the definition that suits you to whatever words you choose.

Btw, my definition of 'crazy' above is 'not well informed' as opposed to 'bat shit crazy'  finger

I love it so far except for the camera.  Just in the first 10 minutes of me playing I wanted to rip the heart out of the person who thought it was acceptable.

It's frustrating enough to kill it which is what I was afraid of when it was first mentioned that the game had camera issues.

Once you have the red dot, if you are precise in your aiming it's the easiest gun for headshots.  I've done greater than 50% headshots with it on some nights and for awhile it was my favorite gun.

This one has that shot you're talking about as well as a lot of other amazing things.

The one in particular that blows me away (aside from running around on vacant clearing whole rooms with the .50 cal) is on Crash when he jumps up and snipes over the fence and hits the guy that was falling from the stairs of the 3 story.  So he's airborne, his target is airborne and he snipes him.   icon_eek

heh, the end of this one he gets a 3 for 1 with one bullet.

I just logged two accounts into a private match and went to 70 kills and it was less than 33% of the time I could get it to work.  Very frustrating when it doesn't, but pretty amazing when it does.
8691  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Help me become 1337 at COD4 multi on: April 23, 2008, 01:34:40 PM
It's very hard to do, but not as hard as it may seem since he's basically taking advantage of the auto-aim and the way it works.  Sadly, without the acog on the m40 it isn't a guaranteed one shot kill so I'm killing my k/d trying it out.  I'll get a hit then die.

I'd love to try this out in a private match though smile

I dunno. There are Infinity Ward logos on every single loading screen in COD4.  They went out of there way to get their name into your brain.

BTW, their logo wasn't on the loading screens when the game first came out, those were patched in at some point.

I'll probably be doing the same thing.  I imagine everyone will get bombarded by invites as soon as they log in that night.

I don't see that happening, I think most of us will want to become acclimated with the new controls first and experience a few missions before braving the online front.
I'll also be going straight to MP.  How would you not see it happening when the two posts preceding yours and the one following all say they are? slywink

Let me qualify ATB's excellent comments above by pointing out that a post-patch AK/ACOG combo is a very versatile setup. Close quarters with Steady Aim is a piece of cake, and you can hit targets at long range if you squeeze your shots off one at a time. After the patch, the AK is the best gun in the game.

The RPD still qualifies for best gun imo, thing is cheap and easy.

I'm truly amazed at the difference it has made in all of my games.

In Forza 2, I now know exactly where other cars are in relation to me and rarely cut people off.

In COD4, several times I've turned and shot someone because of the directional sound, it's amazing in this game.

Rock Band, It's not just loud, it's loud, clear, crisp and has great tone.  Feels like being at a concert.

Count me in the camp that hits the BACK button on the guitar for overdrive.  Like GH3, when you get into Hard and Expert.. tilting the guitar can throw me off.. I've just gotten used to hitting the back button.  I also found my guitar is very finnicky as to when it works with tilt.

On the explorer and the PS2 I always used the button for star power, but it doesn't feel comfortable to me on the strat.  I do get irritated by it activating on it's own sometimes and other times not at all though.

I realize you just got the system and might not want to hear upgrade suggestions just yet, but I'd suggest replacing your vid card as soon as you can with a full blown 8800 (insert suffix here).  The x600 version of any nvidia card always have some performance issues compared to the x800 of the same series.

You probably won't notice for awhile since it's such an upgrade from where you were before, but I just got an 8800 GTX and it's amazing compared to an 8600.  I actually preferred my 7800 GTX to the 8600

I love Logitech. Love my G15 keyboard.
And I was particularly fond of my G7 corless gaming mouse until it started registering single clicks as double-clicks (try and drag a file, and opens the file instead) abut 6 months after I got it. Their support was terrific, though, and they sent me a brand new G7 straight-away.
Now, about 8 months later, that new G7 is doing the double-click thing. Frustrating. Seems to be a common trouble with the G7.

To their credit, I've just been notified that they have just shipped me yet another G7. I'm apprehensive. I almost wish they'd sent another model this time, but then again, I've never found another mouse that responds as well (especially love the ability to change sensitivity on the fly) or feels as nice as the G7 (aside from that cursed double-click problem).

My MX700 started doing that and they sent me a MX1000. As I was waiting on the MX1000 to arrive the MX700 cleared up and I used it another year and a half before I switched the the MX1000. Im still using that MX1000.

Interesting that it's such a common problem.  I used to use a MS optical trackball and without fail after about a year every one I had would start double clicking like that.  5 mice later I've given up on them.  Didn't realize other brands and models had the same issue.

Oh, just to prove Microsoft is trying to drive me screaming from PCs to Macs...

-I can't run Gears of War PC (even in this broken, sometimes it runs, mostly it crashes form) without the latest ATI drivers.

-However, the latest ATI drivers "break" the DRM-reading function of my Best Buy Rhapsody music store (for my Sansa MP3 player).

So, I can play a half-arsed, barely functional version of Gears of War. Or my subscription-based MP3 player can function at all. Or I can join the crowd and get a noisy, unreliable console that may or may not work for more than a few weeks, or months.

Yes, Microsoft has found a way to introduce bugs and patches to console games, make consoles that fail frequently, AND screw me -- the last non-next-gen-consoler -- over in the PC-ports department. They're amazing!!!!!  headbang3

wouldn't ATI's drivers breaking stuff be ATI's problem?  hell, that's the whole reason why I'll never have another ATI video card in my system.

The rattle is just the tilt sensor, nothing to be worried about.  As for the connection issues, sometimes I have to unplug and replug the power to the USB hub.  It feels like more an issue with the 360 than a problem with the controller since it also can affect the other instruments.

I bought a 'real' powered hub and didn't have the problem. I think it's a problem with the cheap hub they included.
