Accuracy: 20.08%
Current Rank 13 on the 7th prestige level

Kills: 25974
Deaths: 17001
Difference: +8973
K/D: 1.53
W/L: 1120-922
Kills Per Match: 12.7
Deaths Per M: 8.3

Pts: 278614
PPM: 136.4
Play Time: 8d 3h 28m

Kill Streak: 31
Headshots: 2302
Assists: 2997
Kills per minute played: 2.21
Deaths per minute played: 1.44
Points per minute played: 23.75

Unfortunately my win/loss and all match related numbers are a bit skewed since I play a fair amount of Cage Match which you can't kill or die more than 10 times, so I included stats per minute.

I'm a big fan of the rating system.  I will take the time to avoid a player and give him a bad rating, even if it means losing the match.  I will do that if I find a player's gamertag offensive even if he is behaving himself in game.

I do the same, I report players, rate them if they yell on the mic, disconnect, etc....

But honestly, how are you a fan of the rating system?  What does it even do to weed out troublemakers?  I haven't heard or seen anything.

It does pretty much nothing.  I'm marked as 47% avoided meaning 47% of the people I play with have marked me with negative feedback.  It's almost exclusively for being 'aggressive' and 'unsporting' which translates into 'Harkonis kicked my ass and I didn't like it'.  I still have a 5 star rating even with that rep.  I also still get matched up with people I've marked as avoid.

Got to play local multiplayer for the first time today.  Man, what a absolute blast that was.  At one point, I actually had my wife, my mother, and my sister-in-law all playing Say it Ain't So.  Of the thousands of gaming moments this household has seen, that was truly one of the most amazing.  When Mrs. Gratch picked up the mic, I honestly think hell may have frozen over.

Also got to spend a couple hours in World Tour mode with my brother.  It's certainly fun, but some of the difficulty seemed way off.  We tried a random set at one of the first locations, and it threw Flirtin' With Disaster at us.  He's only played a few times, and failed pretty quickly.  Set it up again, it came up with ...And Justice for All, and we failed a second time.  I know it's a random set, but I would think the game would scale some of the difficulty of the songs, at least for the first few locations.  Other than that, we had a great time.

The random setlists are weighted for difficulty but that doesn't exclude the harder songs.  You'll find the easier songs coming up more often (which people bitch about) and you'll also get the really hard songs on occasion (which people bitch about) slywink

Basically I think they took the middle ground to ensure that all songs come up eventually but you don't get screwed over often.  Sadly people will bitch about anything so they are in a lose-lose situation.  I wish the difficulty level within difficulties was a bit more even personally but the curve to the last tier or so is kinda steep.

This account would be used for playing MP games after I'm familiar with them to see what my K/D would be once I'm up to speed on the maps, techniques and weapons.

I bet my K/D would be around 4.0 or more in COD4 and probably 2.0 or more in Haloz.

I have a 3 day temp pass for Live at home. I may give it a go when I get home.

4.0 or more? Come on man, don't be absurd  slywink. ThinJ is the best COD4 player you will likely ever see and hes not even at 2.0.

I bet ATB could be 4.0 or higher, I know I could be if I hadn't started off playing so much domination and the like.  I often go with 11-1 odds or greater and sometimes 20-0.  My bad games are usually 2-1 any more with the occasional once a night 1-2.  I had 4 games in a row with over 30 kills and as many as 46 with between 1-5 deaths.  It's very doable but the learning curve ate up any chance I have at having a real k/d until I'm in the 100,000 kill area.

Are we talking about the real COD4 or the funky hardcore thing with your sniper rifle and assault rifle combo where you can find the correct corner of most maps and never be touched? I feel like its an important distinction.

Normal COD4, I have a worse record in Hardcore mode, I just enjoy it more.

As far as K/D I only moved up to 1.90. I was at 1.91 and then had one particularly awful game where I went 25/21 and dropped back down a notch.

It's getting to a point where I doubt I'll be able to continue raising it. I had that game where I went 67/6 and it only went up .02 (from 1.88) and then one badly played game and I'm back down. I think I'm going to focus more on the Wins leaderboard from this point on. That seems the more important thing anyway really Tongue

I did some math to see what it will take for me to get to a 2.0 k/d and sadly I'd need to go 18-6 for 1000 straight matches to get that. ah well slywink My kills are high enough now that I need a change of hundreds of kills to make a visible difference.

I couldn't care less about the wins leaderboard because a full 50% or more of my losses and probably 10% of my wins are from games that ended early due to host quitting or losses from backing out to grab a friend who got dropped.

i am willing to hazard a guess that no matter how good R6V2 is, that its going to be a LONG time before COD4 goes anywhere-the game is selling buckets and I am guessing its popularity as a mp shooter is going to only increase over the next few months-especially considering how monumentally superior it is to the game on top of it.

I remember this one time we played with people from these boards.  Someone (I forget who right now) in one map got to a central door with snake cam and he spent the whole round just relaying out target information to us.  That round we beat the other team badly (and this was a good team with Harkonis on their side).  That is just an example of how Vegas is so great at the team tactics level.

I remember that match.  It was JarrodHK that was doing all the intel work and I was on your team  nod Great game and great match

They are adding more spawn points in the patch in an effort to improve the spawn camping issue.

I'm going to be pretty much playing Hardcore Team Deathmatch from here on out.  Downside is my accuracy is really going down now.  I think it's because on normal mode when a burst of 3 comes out they all hit the target and kill it.  On hardcore when the burst of 3 comes out, the first round kills the target and the other two miss.  I'm playing the same, conservative bursts and no spraying and my accuracy % is dropping .01 per round in hardcore and gaining .01 every couple rounds in normal mode.

BTW regarding ATB's interesting math antics... the higher the numbers get the easier it seems to get a lower k/d.  If you have a round that you break even, it can actually lower your k/d % since the ratio has changed.

We had a great run tonight double digit undefeated streak.

Then we went into a match and Kato timed out and that left us short for 95% of the match and we lost.

Then we lost again and I called it a night...

Unbelievable how K/D swings.  I had three matches all night where I was killed more than I died and what do you know? I'm back at 1.29.

Well did you have 10 matches of +1 and 3 matches of -15?  Because that'll do it.

Good postulation, but no. Overwhelmingly positive the whole night.  It's the whole math thing.  The more you play the bigger the numbers the less you have to do wrong to drop and the more you have to do to rise. I hates it.

Actually the bigger the numbers get the more you have to do wrong to change them as well as more right to change them slywink

Bad news is that it's much harder for me to raise my k/d compared to Kato at this point, good news is it's harder for a bad game to drop my ratio.

http://forums.xbox.com/17291953/ShowPost.aspx link to the post on xbox forums.  Lots of good things in there.  Like the addition of more spawn points on all maps.

I'm concerned that this type of playlist will mean that there either won't be enough people for us to play against in 'normal' deathmatch (as in we'll be 6 vs a group of 4 and they never find 2 extras to fill it out) or that it will mean we'll always get slaughtered if we play together since they'll always put us up against clan groups.

I definitely could dig 100% hardcore deathmatch though.

They broke Burnout. Plain and simple.

I'm very hopeful that once you try an event in the full game that you can warp back to it and retry it and you only have to drive to them the first time.  Most games of this nature including NFS:MW which this copies greatly from had this ability.

I agree that k/d is more important than accuracy.  However, when given two people of equal or near k/d the person with the higher accuracy is obviously the better shot.  Less shots to kill someone is less time exposed which also leads to less dying.

I understand what you mean about wanting to restart the race afterwards, and I'm not sure if they will have a shortcut like NFS:MW did.  I don't understand the complaints about the minimap though.  Many people are saying it's hard to read and I had no such problem at all.  Foudn my way around town with ease between the minimap and the compass and the street signs at the top of the screen.

I'm up for COD4 as well and I prefer straight Team Deathmatch, Hardcore or private matches.

I'll also be up for some Burnout Paradise for a couple hours.  The multiplayer is quite fun.

My nephew will be joining me for a bit tonight.  Simetro is his gamertag.  I have a second 360 now and he'll be playing from the next room.  Little bastard thinks he's the shit since his hit % is about 23%.  I keep reminding him that his k/d of .56 makes that irrelevant but he's just not listening slywink

If we don't do private matches, I'm sure we'll have enough people to do 2-3 groups of 6.

I really don't feel like doing ground war or domination/hq/sabotage tonight though.

G-36c is one of my favorite weapons.  It takes a bit of adjustment, but with stopping power and deep impact I get a ton of through-wall kills.  I can win plenty of one-on-ones, although as with most guns I try to stack the encounter in my favor as much as possible.

I need to rebuild my favorite stealth kit again.  G36c with silencer, uav jammer, and dead silence.  Don't bother engaging anyone at much about medium range, but can sneak up and destroy people who are bunkered up with ease.  I like it over a submachine gun because it feels like it has more punch, and the better range allows me to engage multiple foes from a position with cover, even if one of them spots me.

I use the exact same loadout except subbing the AK-74 for the G-36c.   I hate the 36c.  I find that the faster movement speed with the ak-74 combined with the fact that you don't really slow down when walking with sights raised makes a huge difference for me.  I also seem to hit about the same % at range with both of those guns.  Granted at anything past medium range the 36c will do much more damage per hit than the ak-74, but if I'm shooting at something that far away with my stealth kit I'm boned anyway.

I also love the G3 with silencer, UAV and either deep impact or dead silence and the AK-47 with silencer, UAV and dead silence or steady aim.
8720  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Burnout Paradise : DEMO IMPRESSIONS! (newfangled poll too!) on: December 14, 2007, 01:22:22 PM
I really like this game a lot.  They removed the stuff I didn't like about the burnout series (the intentionally driving through cars and the like) and the added the open world aspect which I've really grown to love.

There is still the same racing feel that you loved in the old games, you just have to start an event to get it.  Not sure why people are having an issue with that.

I played multiplayer for almost 3 hours yesterday and even on the smaller area of town provided and with only 4 people and not many actual objectives, we were all having an absolute blast.

The mug shot on the xbox live camera when you take someone down was funny as hell too.
