Where exactly did you think Black Sabbath got the song title/idea from anyway? slywink

I'll be running a semi-private (just msg me for invite) room tomorrow from whenever till whenever smile

We should have 4-8 people for most of the day.  Good money for your career as long as you're not always in last.  we'll mix it up enough to try to make everyone happy.

I haven't played since Nov or so and I'm dying to make it a regular thing again.

I do have all the tracks though and will probably be rotating the new tracks in while we play.

One of the more advanced skill sets needed is to conserve ammo and make sure you put someone down in as few bullets as possible.  I wouldn't focus on it when just starting, but it is something to keep in your mind.

Part of the reason I do as well as I do is because I don't have to reload often, and I can stretch my ammo out for awhile as well.  When I face down 3v1 situations, I rarely have to reload or switch weapons before I'm either dead or they are slywink  Being able to control the recoil is huge imo.  I see a lot of people who will use an entire clip 1v1 and then get tagged reloading by the second player who approaches.  Short controlled bursts can help prevent this from happening.  Pull the trigger 3-4 times during your fight instead of holding it down for 2-3 seconds like you probably do.  Unless you're using a spraying weapon like the p90, you'll have a greater chance of getting a kill with the bursts.

Another tip I've found is that when using the M16 on a moving target, you can sweep the gun slightly while firing the burst and you get a much greater chance of hitting.  You just have to be very easy on all stick movements.

I play on 6 sensitivity currently and am working my way back up to 8 which is where I used to play at.

Every time someone hits 55+ and flips they are level 1 and lose all their gear so there will often be low level people playing, they just have experience with the maps and game.

In addition, from the time I'm level 6, I'm already maxed on all the perks and weapons I use throughout all 55 levels with the exception of the bandolier that comes at 32.

I very much disagree that a level 55 is any better than a level 10 or so.  Some of the best performing weapons, m16, rpd, mp5 are starter weapons and by level 10 you can have red dots and grips on all of them.

Someone that knows all the maps inside and out could win with just a pistol and no perks against someone who is level 55 and has never played on a particular map.

Most of the truly game changing perks are early, the later ones are more of a style choice for people who don't just shoot.  Claymores, martyrdom, last stand, change the way you play the game, but not really how effective you are imo.  Martyrdom helps you get a kill for every couple deaths, but it's not hard to work around opponents using it.

If the starting weapons had sucked, I'd agree with you that a late comer would be at a severe disadvantage, but as it is if you can get your map time in and your controls down you'll be fine.

Indeed.

Actually it's more along the lines of my gaming time is generally anywhere from 10-45 minute bursts and I've found that isn't really very conducive to online gaming.  By the time you setup and/or find a decent game, it's time to go do something else.  Couple that with the distinct possibility I won't be gaming at all whenever the XBL flavor of the week(s) is released due to bidnez and it just doesn't make sense for me at all to even have an XBL Gold sub (which is why I don't).  My 360 hasn't even been turned on since sometime in February, though that speaks more to the awesome that is MLB Teh Show and Hot Shots Golf than anything else.

I recently got my replacement steering wheel for the 360 since mine had broken.  I don't smoke and am very sensitive to the smell of smoke and this wheel reeks badly.  It was obviously previously used by a heavy smoker and after playing one race my hands smelled just like they used to when I finished smoking a cig.  It's an extreme amount of smell.

My question is twofold, how do I remove the odor without damaging the wheel, and should I contact M$ and bitch about it at all.

I thought the boss fight in Bioshock was godawful, and totally out of place.

There was an awful lot of Mass Effect that was poorly done also.  Pretty much all of the sidequests and planetary exploration.

And in Rainbow 6, why do I have to target my wounded teammate to have my other teammate heal him?  In fact, why do I have to tell my teammate to heal the wounded teammate in the first place.  They're standing right next to each other.  What's wrong with you?  Can't you see the man's in pain.  Instead, I gotta go find them and say, hey buddy, how about sticking a hypodermic in your friend lying on the ground right fucking next to you.

Assholes.

You don't have to target the teammate to have the other one heal him, just hit up on the pad and the non-wounded guy will heal the downed one.  The reason they wait until you tell them too is because they don't know if you want him to heal the guy or keep trying to kill the bad guys.  Sometimes it's prudent to get him up ASAP even under fire, but other times you're better off having the AI guy provide cover fire while you heal the guy or just both of you killing the last of the badguys before healing.

Asshole

Overall the whole game revolves around finding the trigger point that stops the waves of enemies, then mopping up the ones that already spawned and repeating until you get to the end of the game.  It's fun if you don't think about the fact that that is all  you are doing.

I agree though that it's bad design and trigger points like this are what really irk me in both COD4 and R6V:2

Telling the management = Not a jerk. Good for you for trying to help.
Calling the cops = Kind of a jerk. I doubt you can say under 100% certainty that you know exactly what the situation was.

It's not his job to know what the exact situation is, but it is the cop's job and they will hopefully get to the bottom of it.  If nothing was going on, they will deal with it appropriately.  The act of calling them isn't bad, it's not like they show up and immediately haul everyone away without checking things out.

The police have a rough job.

If you see someone driving drunk, call the cops and give a description.  Maybe they aren't drunk, hell maybe they just dropped a cig and swerved a bit.  Either way the cops can find out.

As an aside, I'm slightly amused that I could have predicted prior to the thread who would say it was a jerk thing, who would say it wasn't and who would fly off the handle.  Some people are very predictable.

These are horrible.....HORRIBLE. Chinatown is ridiculous, the worst of the lot, Broadcast is average at best, Creek is nothing but a snipe fest, and the other map can't be played through TDM. Way too much camping, way too much sniping, way too many shotgun/P90 ass clowns jumping and shooting, jumping and shooting, camping all the corners. I hate to say it but the game might have jumped the shark with these maps.

I can't believe this was the best they could do after what....6 months?

It sounds to me like you have fundamental problems with the gameplay itself which has absolutely nothing to do with the new maps. People have been playing that way since the first week the game was out. How you managed to not notice until now is beyond me.

There, that's what I meant to say in a more PC way.  Instead I said it in a way Jblank can understand.  I thought since I saw that rude pm from you that you had taken your comments to pm instead of on the forum, but then I see you calling me an ass here. lol, I take back the nice part of my pm I guess.

I wasn't attacking you personally, I was pointing out the flaws in your logic on why you didn't like the maps.  The only negative I've seen on the maps is some of the spawns are a bit iffy on placement and the cod problem with not shifting spawns soon enough when camping.

Get over it Jblank, not everything said is meant to piss you off.  If you got that mad that people were using shotguns (on a close range map) and sniper rifles (on a large open map) then you have serious issues with how fps' play.  As an added observation, I've played for several hours today and have yet to die to a shotgun on Chinatown a single time and only handfull of deaths to a p90.

Not sure where you get any of this from other than maybe the game just isn't for you?  These three maps are much more balanced and better designed than any of the previous ones and I'm loving them all so far.  Any time someone is camping there is at least one way around behind them and often 3.

You bitch that there is too much camping and in the same damn sentence that there is too much shotgun and jumping and shooting.  You do know those are mutually exclusive?  Best for you to just take a break man, set down the controller, and back away.

Killhouse is unavailable in TDM because it's tiny.  You can play it in private matches or FFA though.
