I'm not sure I'd read further into Proner trying to 'out' me other than the fact that he's always prodding me when we play on Live. slywink  He just likes to mess with me like that and it's probably spilling over.  Though if he has any real reason to single me out I'd love to hear it since I have no idea what it could be.

and don't go easy on me for the noob thing, I've already been alive longer in real time than in any of the previous games plus I've learned (especially thanks to Newcastle) more in this game than the other two combined.

though I'm tempted to vote for Proner simply because he voted for me, I really think rickfc is the safe bet here without screwing us over by tagging a special.

People making me a tad suspicious due to what seem to be attempts at controlling people's opinions though:

Chaos
Remus
Unagi
Proner
Scoop
Stessier

though it looks like all of a sudden Chaos is posting non-informative bits instead of the usual overcomplicated analysis.

Re Raven and Brendan:  Last game I noticed they both ezmated, one talking about Law classes the other... something else I don't recall.  I haven't seen that in this game yet.  (More directed at the accusation leveled at RavenXII.  (See what I did there with his name? lololorlofolrolfo)  Not saying they're innocent, just a note.

Right now,
rickfc
Scoop
Harkonis
are my highest suspects.  Scoop is blatantly attaching himself to pr0ner, perhaps to cast suspicion on pr0ner, (assuming Scoop is teh evil) perhaps it's a crush.

I would urge you, and everyone else, to take a much closer look at Harkonis.

His posting style is everywhere.  Yes, maybe one can write it off to newness.  But I think it's far more likely that he's simply a Cylon with some wiring loose, and we need to back off rickfc and place our attentions elsewhere for now.

heh, my posting style is 'all over the place' because that's my posting style Tongue

The few of you who follow my game posts on Console and Multiplayer should know by now my rambling and spurts of posting.  But take as close of a look as you need to to be happy.  I can say that although I've got a vote in on rickfc, I'm not convinced he's anything other than a 'safe' bet of a citizen.  I just don't see any obvious target yet.

Alright, I read through the novels of Newcastle and the short little semi-accusatory post by stessier and I have to say that you both make little to no sense.

The post Unagi presented seems much more suggestive of Scoop as 12 then the posts Newcastle has presented.  I thought I reached for some things on day 1 but to say that posts containing 6 words are a signal that he is 12?  I do not get that at all.  I highly doubt that 12 is actually stupid enough to bother signalling the other cylons as to his identity at all.  He has no need to.  They target him and hook up, great, lovely for them.  Except that everyone has been pointing out since the beginning of the day how that actually benefits US not them.  They essentially trade a kill for hooking up.  Sure, maybe a little more coordination of efforts there but it is still a lost kill.  Also, why have folks (read Newcastle) dropped the idea of a hook-up last night instead of a self-protecting Starbuck?  Do you know something we do not?

stessier, I really do not get your suggestion that Newcastle is 12.  For mispelling Cavil?  How does that make any sense at all?

I can see where if the Cylons knew who 12 was they could actually avoid hooking up and therefore not waste a kill, but they'd have to be pretty sure and I don't see how they could without hooking up.  Either way I kinda think that the 12 dynamic helps us instead of hinder in the long run with the obvious exception of him going boom.

I meant shot by the cylons, I originally typed eaten then realized that the cylons don't eat in this game.  wasn't implying the hunter special.

OK, Free Lesson:

At night the Cylons will kill someone.   There is No Question about that.  And they won't be killing their own.
Who's that leave?
If you are a normal powerless citizen, why - Oh WHY - would you rather they kill your neighbor - who could very well be Starbuck or Athena, etc???
You being shot (or whatever) by cylons is exactly what you should want.

That's the problem with your focus of YOUR survival, you don't seem to give a rat's ass about OUR survival.

Aha! See, that's the kind of advice I was looking for and it makes perfect sense.  So as a citizen I WANT the cylons to think I'm a special to take one for the team as it were.

This should be quite easy then, I'm Starthenapollo!

I definitely would have joined you. Even with 2-3 people, you can do one of the co-op missions, which are supposed to be a blast. I've yet to play them. But yeah... I definitely feel you. The unranked stuff is a bit better, because you can stay & play with the same people, and over a couple of rounds you get to know people and occasionally hook up with some decent, cool people. In ranked, you get a new party every time. As such, I really think that the FFA gametypes are the way to go if you're playing Ranked. The deathmatch, Mafiya work, and GTA Race are all pretty fun.

Anyway, I'll be on again tonight before 9pm and after 11pm (eastern), and all weekend I'll be around as well.

I'm really sorry I didn't respond to your message.  When I first logged on there weren't many playing GTA IV, and no one was playing MP, but your message caused me to go back and check to see if there were any others who may have logged on while I was playing SP, and I think there were even less available to tempt over to MP.

For some reason I didn't even think about the 4-person co-op missions at the time, but that is a perfect game type for times when we only have a handful of people.  Perhaps we can even give the co-op missions a try with just the two of us and see how we fare.  And in the process if we're able to eventually get one or two more people in the game then even better.

It works well for me that you're on eastern time because 11pm for you is only 8pm for me.  I'm not much of a night owl anymore in my old age, but I can certainly handle playing at 8pm.

Let's think about linking up tonight to play some of the co-op challenges and if anyone else wants to join us we can take on the AI as a team, or if we get enough perhaps we can even venture into versus MP games if we get enough players.

The MP game can be quite fun even with 2-3 people Pete, just run races or the solo modes like the one where you race to do missions vs each other.

I wish there was a way to do ranked matches and have settings locked or filtered such as no auto-aim and the like.

Nobody is claiming to be starbuck, I was just trying to fit all the roles into the quotes so nobody thought I was seriously claiming any of them in particular.  Just a sad attempt at proving my point that it doesn't really matter what is said this early.  Sadly for most involved day 1 is almost always a shot in the dark where you can just hope to take out one of the bad guys without killing an important good guy.  Though the odds are stacked that we won't get a bad cylon, they are also stacked towards getting a non-role citizen so it's still worth it imo to just guess and pile on.  I kinda wish there was a way to make these games where we'd have a bit more info day 1.

Everyone has something to hide in this version of the game.  Even normal citizens don't want people to know they are normal or they will be shot eventually.  There is always something to hide when playing these forum games.  There will also always be something suspicious in everyone's posts if you look hard enough.  I was lynched for being suspicious in a WW game when I was a villager simply because I talked.  Not everyone tries to go all sherlock and overanalyze things on day 1, there isn't really any data to go on until later barring someone coming out and saying 'I'm a cylon, lolz'.
