So far Ride the Lightning and Run to the Hills are the only two I can't drum on Hard.  Really pissing me off too. lol

Expert I get stuck on a lot more of them due to double and triple kicks and off-beat kicks. I just don't find the pedal responsive enough for me to do the triples or the rapid doubles after each other.

one of the single port filters that you normally plug a phone device into? and it stopped the discos? even though theoretically with the filter in place, it shouldn't work at all?

bwah?

TheAtomicKid

ps: you're lucky the lightning didn't eat your computer :/

heh, I'm confused as well.  The filters are supposed to block the DSL signal compeltely which as TAK said should prevent the DSL from working at all if it's on a filtered line.  Not sure what's going on there. Not 100% if it's even possible, but maybe the DSL signal coming into your house is too strong and thus the need for the filter to bring it down to a 'normal' level.  Do you hear any static or other noise on your phone handsets?

8485  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: I think we really got the Phantom.... on: July 15, 2008, 11:48:20 AM
I was quite amazed (and saddened) when I saw how much stuff I've bought through Live.

Counting Rock Band tracks I've easily spent over $1000 total.  I have 40ish Arcade games, plenty of expansions and addons and all but a couple RB tracks.

I REALLY wish I could get a 120gb HDD for a reasonable price, they'd more than make up the difference in money I'd spend on filling it up. slywink

My 20gb is down to about 1gb free with all my demos deleted and when RB2 hits I'm goign to be out of room completely.

I am going to be curious to see the difference in media between the 360 and PS3 versions of FF13. Wasn't FF13's massive number of movies one of the things Sony was touting about in using Blu-Ray as their storage medium? Will the PS3 version come on 1 disc while the 360 comes out on like 10?

don't forget that part of the new dashboard features for the fall update is to be able to copy disks to the HDD.  I wouldn't be surprised if FFXIII is multidisk, but you only need to keep disk 1 in if you copy the rest to the HDD.

Fuck. FMV prerender; no gameplay.

http://www.gametrailers.com/game/9022.html#Content

Kinda weak.

That doesn't look like CGI to me... looks in-engine.

If it is pre-rendered CGI, t

then it's pretty shitty quality.

+1  that's not CGI, that's at the very most in game cutscenes. anyone who thinks otherwise really needs to upgrade their PC or get into consoles.

What I meant to say is that it's NOT in-game engine as there is no GAME. It's predetermined sequences recorded for story and if they ran it through their engine then bully for them; they could say they ran it through a coffee machine and I'd have no frame of reference to compare it to.

Freakin' percolated videos that show it as being a LoTR knockoff.

THIS SHALL NOT PASS (Purge's acceptability criteria).

Then you shouldn't say 'prerendered' slywink  The word has a definition and the definition does not include real-time rendering.

a lot of that is because you've played WoW and AoC slywink

They never grip as much as they used too.  I'm extremely pumped for WAR, but it's still not the same level of 'omg I have to play' that I had back when I played DAOC.

I had a lot more fun with TQ than with Sacred.

I'm now on my first play through of Epic difficulty and am surprised that I'm still having fun.  I HATE replaying games and would have bet almost any amount of money that I would never play through even with a second character type, let alone through the same story with the same character on harder.  It's a blast.

Looking forward to playing with some of you guys.  It's nice that they throw in a couple extra bosses on Epic and a couple more on Legendary.  Got my first Legendary drop right off the bat in Epic and it is keeping me going.

You might have the BSG history a bit twisted.  They didn't leave Earth for the 12 colonies, they left Kobol for the 13 colonies of which Earth is one.

It's going to be difficult to play MP shooters that don't have destructible terrain now, regardless of how good they are.  The feeling of 'I saw movement up there, let's take the wall/window out and see who it is' is just too good slywink

Most MP games don't make it past a month or two with the GT crew, COD4 and the first R6:V were exceptions but they are in the past now.  BF:BC will probably last awhile though.

This is what happens to pretty much every game if you don't get in while it's hot.  This is also why when a new game comes out I play the MP before I play the SP.  You can always play SP after people have moved on but not so much with MP.  Just the nature of the beast with multiplayer games.  They come and go.

I played COD4 every day for almost 9 months.

well, playing with randoms vs decent players (ATB, Wonderpug, Teggy and Owain) is a pain in the ass.  It literally felt like me vs a team of 12.

Bad news, Pug got my dogtags frown

Good news, I got his in true Rambo style.  Flew the chopper in low, saw it was him so I bailed at about 20 feet.  Knife out in the air, knife him in the back, kill 2 with shotgun, landmine and 'nade the crate and move on to the next.
8508  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Anyone else playing the BF:BC (Now not the demo) on: July 05, 2008, 03:56:34 AM
Yes, you did get my tags tonight, but I got yours as well.  Bringing my total Teg-tags total to two.  say that three times fast.

Part of the reason we won so quickly is the brokenness that is landmines.  Throw 5 landmines on a crate and a grenade and you've done 70%+ to it.  Hellspawn and I would both drop our landmines then a frag and the crate would blow in a single shot.

The game is unbalanced in the defenders favor unless landmines are used on the crate in which case it feels unfair the other way. frown

It was on Over and Out that we rolled quickly to the base, happens to be my favorite map.  Almost had your tags three times on that map alone but sadly you died right when I was swinging all but one of them.  I went 28-2 when defending that round slywink

Was a good time playing with you guys. I do wish that once we've all locked onto the same squad you'd come back to 360 voice com...

It never locks everyone back in the same squad.  It might do it for 1-3 matches or so, but eventually it mixes you up again.  It's less stressful for us to just keep talking to each other continuously regardless of Live's fickle desires. slywink

Plus with the vent server we can talk before we play, after we play, organize when we're playing, what we're playing, etc.

Stats seem like they are mostly working, but the SPM is still pretty fubar.

Score per Minute -6.171   (it seems to only show the last round or last few rounds since I ended the night on a team killing streak of 7 intentionally slywink )

This seems pretty indicative of the balance issues of the game combined with the general ignorance of the general population of privates.

I wish we'd get more covers Tongue

I'd kinda like some covers that are actual covers and not covers that are trying to be as close to the originals as possible though.  I like to hear other artist's takes on music sometimes.
