I'm intrigued, though I don't really see the point in playing with structural integrity off.  For me making something that works and is sound would kinda be the whole point.
42  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS4, XB1, PC] Evolve (from Turtle Rock) on: February 18, 2015, 11:50:00 PM
All depends on who is on the other team, which monster you are, the map, etc.  Next time you are on I can run through a bunch with you in voice chat, but I don't feel like typing quick THAT much.
43  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS4, XB1, PC] Evolve (from Turtle Rock) on: February 17, 2015, 04:00:46 PM
I didn't really care as much for the game until I played it in Alpha.  I love it and have been playing quite a bit.

Almost without fail it looks like those cars get deformed the instant BEFORE they are hit in the trailer.  So odd.

There are always exceptions, but the simplest things to remember are:

If there is a Hank, you have to kill him first or he will keep the others alive
If there is a Lazarus you have to kill him or eat the dead hunters quickly or they will win
If Hank is dead and there is a Val or Caira, kill them

Killing the trapper first works great if the trapper domed you ahead of the rest of the team, you just have to act quickly.

You can run away even in a dome, the dome is HUGE.  Use cover, line of sight, lots of jumping, slamming, charging, etc.  The game definitely isn't easy, but it sounds like you are making it harder on yourself than you need to.  Don't get down, there are easy enough ways out of the problems you are having.
47  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS4, XB1, PC] Evolve (from Turtle Rock) on: February 12, 2015, 07:45:42 PM
If there is a maggie on the hunter team, sneak will most likely just get you killed. Daisy doesn't give a shit if you're sneaking, she'll find you anyway so all sneaking does is not alert birds and slow you down so you get caught.  Speed is key, keep moving

I'm busy entertaining out-of-guests through the weekend, but I'm hoping to join the Evolve party on Monday or Tuesday.

There's not some other big multiplayer release about to come out and make you all move onto something else, is there?

Bf: HL mid march, Pug should be playing smite also btw. Tongue

Need people to group up for this.  Thankfully the game allows progression even in private games so if we get 5 people we can do some fun monster vs hunter battles and try out different strats!  Friend me up on XB1 and let's do it.
51  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS4, XB1, PC] Evolve (from Turtle Rock) on: February 12, 2015, 02:45:08 AM
Here's a few videos I've made of various things for various reasons:

Trying out Hyde vs Kraken to see how hard it is.  All bots though, obviously will be harder vs players.  Bots on my team though, so teamwork would also be better with a real team.

Me healing my ass off (and the rest of the team too), I was getting frustrated since the team seemed reluctant to either dodge telegraphed attacks OR dps the monster down while I was healing.   ugh.  slywink

Having a blast on XB1, and we finally have a game that we can play in private groups and still get progression with.  Now we just need at least 5 players  ninja

I joined a friends game and he had someone in his game that was obviously a cheat, I left right away.  It's a shame they didn't go with server side inventory on the consoles imo.
54  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Eurogamer drops review scores on: February 11, 2015, 04:12:40 AM
I hate scores on reviews because all too often the entire text of a review will be glowing, then the score low or the other way around.  It's infuriating.  They'll be like this game is pretty damned amazing and I LOVE everything except this one little nitpick... 7/10  makes no sense at all.

I picked this up for some reason and got to play for several hours yesterday.

I got to the point of the first forced night mission and after first running away from the virals I started creeping veeeery slowly to avoid all the others and try to get back to the tower.  After creeping slowly (and running one more time) for a long time, somehow a viral just spotted me out of nowhere as I was crouching behind a car.  Of course a whole bunch of them started chasing me and then I died.  And it spawned me back before I got the last package.  Fuck that.

This game can go to hell if they really want to introduce players to their night mechanic with a forced night mission (after a terrible cutscene where my character does stupid things for clearly terrible people) that is going to take a long time and end in death and resets.  I'm fine with failing on my own terms, but being forced to fail and lose time is not my idea of fun.

my first night mission lasted about 30-45 seconds.  Just run like a little bitch to the tower doing your best to avoid any groups of bad guys and use your survivor sense to avoid the powerful ones completely.  Having troubles?  Do it coop.  Nothign forced you to fail
56  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (2/10) on: February 09, 2015, 03:10:08 PM
Disliking the DLC for Evolve seems really odd and most people who do probably don't even understand what it is exactly or how the game is designed. Evolve's DLC is the least intrusive DLC for a multiplayer I've seen with the exception of skins only DLC like in DOTA.  People are jumping on a bandwagon and it's embarrassing to me to see gamers overreact so much.  Reminds me of everyone freaking out about horse armor prices which was simply cosmetic and didn't matter one bit. Slow game news time so every website ran some sort of hype about DLC ruining everything.  I'm excited for the prospects of extra stuff for this game, especially since it won't split the playerbase in the slightest unlike Battlefield and Call of Duty which many of you play and have paid for DLC repeatedly.  Honestly, the stupid sheep are the people who jumped on the bandwagon of DLC hate based on this game without doing their own research.  There are plenty of games who abuse real money transactions and DLC, Evolve ain't one of them.

Having said that, I will be playing Evolve on XB1 tonight.

Microsoft didn't break it because they wanted people to upgrade, that's an odd conspirator type thought imo.  They dropped the family gold account package for a variety of reasons, but that wasn't one of them.

Just started today.  I'm actually not really big into the crafting aspect of these games, so they all tend to be a bit of a tough sell for me.  I love the ideas though.  Survival part is fun to me.
61  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Diablo III --Impressions start on page 36 -- on: January 30, 2015, 01:03:15 AM
It only took 6 hours or so to level to 70 before and now with the Gem of Ease it is under 3 hours from lvl 1-70 on frsh character.  It's very much all about 70 and adventure mode/rifts/grifts

I used to use fraps, but now use obs for both recording and streaming.  Nothing changed for me when ownership changed hands, also twitch settings should have nothing to do with obs ability to capture Game source either.  Likely some unrelated small system change somewhere else bj.

I tend to only play through games once. Can a few of you recommend the the class of character that you found to be the most entertaining, or have the best loot?

Honestly I would say that you probably shouldn't play through Diablo for the story and that it's certainly not a genre that is really designed for people that don't like replaying.  You can play through and have some fun, but your character isn't really fully fleshed out until many hours of repeated stuff which shines in adventure mode and loot grinding.

it took me next to no time at all for my console character to be far more powerful than my pc character.  Such a huge gear quality difference for me personally.

keep in mind they also changed it so that the mobs are always your level or so.

more importantly is that you now should have the Boon of the Hoarder which will let you get more gold from here on out which is essential to gem upgrades and enchanting

I sent a ton of people legendaries but I have a feeling most of them don't play anymore

If you were ever thinking of playing, now is the time since the 'all gods' pack is now $20 instead of $30.  It gets you every champ/god/hero that exists and will ever exists.  No grinding for new gods.

It will be intimidating to you if you aren't familiar with the genre, but it's not actually overly complex once you see past the layers.

Just get this, it's perfectly serviceable and is what I am using until I can swing a full setup.  $20 joystick

Just hop on mumble when some people are on and it'll be a breeze to figure it out.  There are also plenty of videos available in game as well as tutorials to learn the various aspects of the game.
