traded mine in a while ago, and really wish I hadn't bought the premium pack.  Think I've tried to play about a dozen times since I got the XB1 and had one successful joined game.

Marvel Heroes, Smite and Dead Island: Epidemic

Might actually finish Dead Island at some point as well

It WAS impossible if they wanted to follow their proposed business plan.  I don't think anyone said it was technically impossible to scrap it completely and free it up.  This is a bummer and sadly is where companies often end up when people get stubborn.  Given enough time I do think they could have made it work, they probably should have just continued with their original plan and release date instead of changing it up in the first place.  Their first compromises kinda forced their hand on these latest ones as well imo.

It kinda bugged me in the one-shot when they refer to shield as shield even though in Iron Man they hadn't come up with the acronym yet and imply that the agency is fairly new.

In the magic tourney scene, plenty of people knew who was who.

Looks good, I enjoyed the movie as well but mostly because I didn't know anything about the character before it.

I'm loving the DC vs Marvel competition on TV, it's a win for us

It was also released on the 360 at the same time

espers are pretty much tab targetting healing though, so they get that advantage along with the disadvantage of stationary healing
174  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Elder Scrolls Online on: May 10, 2014, 03:10:11 AM
I feel like an ass for doing it, but I got my money back despite playing a lot of hours.  It was just such an amateurish experience from start to finish.  The random 'oops, we accidentally banned a lot of people' was the last straw for me.   Was halfway through the first month and just talked to them and they offered to refund me so I took it.

Put that money towards Wildstar, so I basically get to make the same mistake twice with the same money, so I'll call that a win.   ninja
175  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 5/9/14 on: May 10, 2014, 03:07:45 AM
Most likely Marvel Heroes, Smite and Hex this weekend
176  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: Wildstar (Carbine Studios' first project) on: May 09, 2014, 02:59:52 PM
I'm pre-ordered and will at least be playing the first month.  (blame teggy)

The beginning/tutorial/starter parts of the game are so amazingly badly done it's silly.  They will likely turn a LOT of people off/away with the open beta.  If you make it past that the game gets really fun and combat is quite interesting.  Looks like this might be a great game for people who enjoy dungeons, raids and pvp.  Questing is pretty craptastic though imo.

They do have some kind of open world dungeon type events though that are kinda neat and unique.  One is like a tower defense mode, another kinda moba'ish, etc.

All in all crafting, housing, dungeons, combat all seem pretty good.  I personally despise the art direction and graphical style though.

Starting to get a bit burned out with the grind at 39. I was enjoying the questing for however many hours I've done it so far,  but there's so little variation in what you are doing at this point that it's getting kind of boring. The suggested levels for dungeons are so narrow, and very few people are using the dungeon finder anyway. Other than that there is WvW, but I'm not really into the big zerg thing. And that's kind of it as far as what you can do in the game for now. I'd like to get to 50 for the story, but I'm not feeling it a whole lot at the moment.

the vet level dungeons are pretty cool.  (having said that though I am done with the game)
178  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: This Is Fun Pt 3: This Time It's Personal! (possibly NSFW) on: May 08, 2014, 01:01:42 PM
I understand why they banned the guy taking the pics, but I do wish they would also penalize the people who had their asses hanging out.  Both are pretty bad imo.  There is a bit of a bullying issue with these things and this isn't the first time someone made a photo album specifically to shame.

I wish ass showing and body smelling were both ban-worthy reasons at mtg tourneys, I'd win more for sure slywink
179  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: This Is Fun Pt 3: This Time It's Personal! (possibly NSFW) on: May 08, 2014, 11:46:36 AM

The dude(s) that made the pics could end up being banned.

Not sure what Smallville has to do with this since Clark was on Smallville. (haven't watched it, but I'm pretty sure that's correct)  Not sure it would have had the same success had he never shown up.

this game was right on the border of good/great when I last played it.  Had just enough odd bugs and pvp hax to steer me away when I last played.

multiplayer I have to get day one before people give up on it.  Some of the best games I've played have died early deaths because nobody plays them and it's a shame.  Good single player I MIGHT pick up early, but typically if it's single player only I can wait for 50% off or better.

The show keeps the name in the public regardless of ratings.  The movies are a big enough vehicle I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the show on for years just as a form of advertising

193  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Trading my Xbone on: April 29, 2014, 08:13:09 PM
trading to one of the stores is a big mistake at this point imo, you're going to take a horrible hit to the value and really screw yourself.

Try the trading forum here, or just sell it outright to another player if you're determined to get rid of it.

I'll call it now though, at some point in the next year, you're going to wish you kept it then convince yourself you don't.

there's nothing wrong with the unlock balance imo.  not sure what you're whining about.

Mikagami just started playing this a week or so ago and has almost everything unlocked

don't forget guys to do the coop.  A large part of the balancing is assuming you're doing it both ways.  Before you fight in an area, put your sign down.  When someone summons you you get to experiment and find out the safe way to do things with no risk in their world.  When you complete coop you also get humanity back so it's a great deal.  This also lets you pre-test boss fights.

I've had a sharp decline in posting, mainly because gaming has taken a significant back seat to real life.  10-month-old twins tend to do that.  smile  I also find I have interest in far fewer games than I used to.

Agreed. I've purchased exactly 1 game this year and that was to play with the kids. (Kinect sports rivals).

I may get watch dogs, but it's pretty much a wasteland right now. New console blues. slywink.

That doesn't, however, explain why there is no new blood.

You're getting Wasteland 2?

I've got so many hundreds of hours of shows to get my fiancee caught up on, and neither of us have seen Farscape.  So between Bab 5, BSG and Farscape, what order should we watch em?  I've seen the first two myself.

I'm enjoying Farscape much, much, much, much more than BSG.  If you can suffer through a couple rough initial episodes, it becomes all kinds of awesome.

Can't speak to Babylon 5...never gave it a look.

when/if you watch Bab5, make sure you get past the first season before judging it too much.  I find the first season pretty awful and would have given up if someone hadn't told me to just push through.
