don't get me wrong, I agree that there are ways to find someone in your game before they start hacking, and I think it should be this way.  I'm just saying that the method of pausing every few minutes to check is obviously a bit of a cheaty way to do it.  (it would also make for a very irritating twitch stream to watch)

I prefer to just pay attention to my surrounding to see people moving oddly combined with not being able to activate missions and the like when they occur.  The pause method really seems to be against the spirit of the game imo.
163  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC, PS4, XB1]Homefront: Revolution on: June 02, 2014, 05:57:08 PM
Homefront multiplayer was one of the best multiplayer games I ever played... that didn't work at all.  The rare times I was able to stay in a lag free match it was quite amazing.

that's cheating, wish they would prevent those types of things from being a problem.  too late now though, like seeing through the shell game when you pause.

regarding the counter hack, you get a revenge hack option quite often after someone invades you.  You can also find a 'recently hacked' option on some people.

Also, READ HARRY POTTER!

No. Tongue The above description alone says I should not read these books (I read half the first one and got bored and stopped).

I'm constantly amazed how different people can be.  I went into reading the first book expecting a stupid kid's story (I just grabbed the book off my nephew's shelf).  Instead it was a fairly mature and decently written story.

I'm afraid Lee and I share pretty much nothing in common other than being forumites here.

If you do the mobile invasion thing, please be a gentleman and don't leave as soon as the player starts winning the race.

I have probably done a dozen of those races and only a couple of them had the mobile person actually stay through the whole race.  It seems once I reach about the halfway point and I'm ahead of the cops (and I'm assuming they are out of action points or something)...oops, disconnected.   icon_evil  finger

Though people will always be dicks about it, most of those people probably just got booted from uplay.  I've had it happen multiple times while on mobile.

you can add people by their xbox or psn account names too, just select that field.

Think I found an exploit in the invasion mission where you hack another persons phone. On one invasion I wasn't able to locate the guy at all. Turns out he was in a parked car which made me feel stupid for not checking. But then I was thinking I had checked around that area. So it got me thinking that maybe if you are in a car you are not detectable.

So I did two of those hacking invasions where I parked myself in a car near the target and hacked the player. In both cases the person never caught me. In one I was sure he was going to get me as I was lowering/raising a bridge and he walked past my car a few times. But they never did.

they can find you, they either have to get in, or leave the profiler on the car for longer than impatient people are willing to.

I'll admit that the graphics can be a put off and will keep many from playing, and I also probably never would have seen the game if I only went by screenshots.  My point was just that with a bunch of people saying how good the gameplay is, to STILL not play it because of graphics is a bit odd to me.
172  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [E3 2012] Watch Dogs on: May 28, 2014, 08:46:23 PM
I would prefer more 'real' driving, but this feels like the last GTA I actually played through and enjoyed, which was a long time ago.
173  Gaming / Portable Gaming & Apps / Re: iPhone/iTouch app and game thread on: May 28, 2014, 08:41:51 PM
I hear what you're saying, but that still makes you a graphics snob fwiw.  He also tried to get people to do it and kept getting quoted ridiculous numbers which is why he went with what he did.  Now that it has visibility he has been getting more reasonable quotes.  He was mentioning people wanting $10k for the number of cards he has in the game.

Once people tell you the game is amazing, not playing because of graphics is silly.  Graphics aren't even important in a roguelike OR a card game, and it's just those meshed together.

Me too. The graphics are hilariously terri-bad. It's like 6 year old art quality, but man, the gameplay design is genius. the dev says he is willing to bring the graphics up to par at some point in a future update, but that would kind of kill some of the charm for me.

there have already been people petitioning him that if he updates the graphics, have a toggle for bad/good graphics.

Does the game recognize if you ghost through a segment? It seems that the guards around most hacking locations are apparently marked for death and okay to kill for your reputation.

No, it didn't given me a trophy or say anything about ghosting through it.  It's more a personal choice in that I don't want to play Aiden as a killer.  I've only killed one person so far and it was one of those random robber events and the guy had a gun and was shooting me, so the only real way I could get him was to shoot back or he would have killed me before I reached him.  I am sure eventually I will start gunning everyone down as the game will probably force my hand that way.

I was hoping to not play as a killer as well.
I stupidly became one after trying to ghost the first CtOS server in that construction yard.  Instead of hacking the camera phone on the guard, the game selected the exploding floor panel and took him out.  Then after I had gone full on killer mode, found the entry path to the stealthy route and had access to the terminal, but failed to get that you had to hack the unlocked symbol to continue.  I then made my way through and took out the rest of them to access it manually.

I don't know how you could stealth through the gang hideouts though.  those things are full of armed guards.

lots of distraction and melee take downs.  (and steam vents)

been playing a ton of Dream Quest, terrible graphics but the gameplay is so much fun I just don't care.

Should have an ipad today so I'll likely be trying out a bunch of stuff that wouldn't work well or at all on my phone.

Is there a tutorial for raising the barriers when driving, or a way to practice?  Seems like you have to initiate the hack to raise them before you get there and when I've done it, my car hit them and not my pursuers.

it turns blue if it will hit your pursuer

I'm not surprised to see people feeling this way, I wouldn't expect truly next gen stuff until about a year after a system comes out.  I'm hoping/expecting that Destiny, Evolve and the like showcase some stuff that the 360/ps3 simply couldn't do well.

As long as a time travel movie is internally consistent they can do whatever the fuck they want with it.  Kinda weird you'd try to maintain a real world logic perspective on it when we know nothing about time

I think multiplayer looks good.  It has three modes, the dark souls style invasion like thing, the tablet controlling the police and city version, and team on team which looks like it could be a blast with a good crew.

I got rid of BF4 quite a while ago, just too many issues to be worth it for me.  It was one of the few games that wasn't digital, so I took advantage of the ability to get rid of it.

I couldn't care less about reviews or embargos.  Rarely means anything that it's being held up other than some guy who makes a bunch of money wants to delay it for whatever reason.

At any rate, I'll play with ya Otter, and if nothing else, if you play on XB1 there is a chance I'll show up hacking you while you're playing and don't even see me until it's too late slywink

(btw pug, you should see if you can get someone to go in on a 4 pack for DI:E. I can see you having more than your share of fun with that.)
