haven't seen the ps4 version but it looks good on the xb1.  Had a couple people on my stream say they thought it looked better than the ps4, but that might just be because I stream at high quality and maybe the ps4 doesn't.

Gonna be playing and streaming mostly Destiny, but probably a bit of Hex Sat due to free tourney.  Sun I will be at the Brickyard 400 most of the day, so no gaming frown

Another one, starting to get the hang of things a bit better I think

Twitch highlight

Youtube link, same match

realized while editing this one that my logo and webcam are covering up important bits.  Any ideas on better placement?

looks similar to Robocraft

yep, can get quite hairy.

Here's more pimping of myself, put the whole thing here.  There are a few good moments in there definitely.  Will be editing some of my matches tonight I think.

Twitch match

Youtube link for same match, might still be encoding

some people inside might pop old school style, but a lot of times the ships will drop them off on the other side and they run in the back.  It's quite nice from a realism standpoint.  Had some fun moments where people were clearing the zone almost too quickly and the result was tons of dropships bombarding as they dropped of reinforcements.
167  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: July 25, 2014, 12:12:47 PM
Set up your party chat before launching the game.  Make sure you actually quit Destiny, not just minimize.  Then it works fine.  It's a known issue that they are working to fix for launch.  Something about thier proprietary voice chat system is conflicting at the moment.  Their system is pretty cool with positional and distance related chat effects, but we're quite spoiled wtih party chat slywink

The network issues are likely because they just opened the beta to everyone to intentionally flood their system and see what it can take.

You can watch the respawns, giant transports warp in and the troops drop out, it's quite frequently.

I think the rights cover all use of the characters.  I don't believe it stipulates only film appearances.  Here's a handy chart of all the characters and their rights by studio. I honestly thought Sony owned more than two characters.  It also is interesting that the rights to Man-Thing were sold to Lionsgate.  I would love to see a film adaptation of that character...and yes, I'm discounting the SyFy feature from a few years ago.

man-thing was mentioned on SHIELD by name.  BTW, I'm about 99% certain of the character rights being movie specific and not just media.  This is also how they keep all the characters on the cartoons (and likely why the rights were worded the way they were).

On that chart at the bottom, should Iron Man and Avengers just be together (and thus in first place) since it's all part of the same series?

When I moved from Boston to Albuquerque, I had an initial culture shock adjustment period to the different level of public friendliness between strangers.  The level of inquisitiveness and smalltalk you get from, say, a grocery bagger in ABQ, is just alien weirdo bizarre in Boston culture.  What does this person want?!  Why are they so curious how I'm going to cook these steaks?  Should I hand over my wallet?!

I'm always wary of this when I travel outside of New England, or even just to western Mass. Friendly strangers creep me out. Takes a few days to realize they aren't after your money or your soul.

ah, but they are..., they are

I hated Chic Fil-A forever since I love their food and they aren't open Sundays which was the day I was most likely to be near the only location we had at the time.  I'd finish playing games at the arcade, run across the hall of the mall and FUCKING SHIT IT'S CLOSED TODAY, STUPID RELIGION!

First world problems at the arcade

is the stun just a factor of some damage cutoff per enemy?
173  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: July 24, 2014, 02:32:19 PM
Also this game isn't an mmo, it has some mmo'ish features sure, but I wouldn't say that having played an mmo or not played one should affect your grasp of it at all.  It's just a shooter with a social hub and the occasional other player in the open world areas.

I found most of the game pretty intuitive so far.

7. At one point I entered a room on the first mission and there was a gaggle of '??' level monsters and they ripped me apart in about 2 seconds.  How did that happen? Did I do something wrong?

The ?? means they are way higher level than you.  Your ability to do damage is based on your level discrepancy as well as your weapon's Attack value.  I think they sort of botch the weapon stats page as from what I can tell by hovering over stuff, Impact is the damage per shot, but generally people instinctively are looking at that giant number which is the weapons ability to damage higher level enemies.  It's weird, and I don't understand all the interplay there yet.

I don't get the feeling that's what impact is at all, seems to me the number IS attack damage and impact is hit stun.  With a high impact weapon you can stun lock an enemy.  There is also an upgrade on some weapons that says 'increase attack damage' and it only affects the number rating, not the bars
175  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: July 24, 2014, 12:16:23 PM
yes, for beta.  Do up to there, then you have Devil's Nest or whatever for coop, the open free roam area and pvp

177  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Destiny -Bungie's new game with Activision on: July 23, 2014, 09:51:13 PM
the areas between missions are 'open world' and can have multiple people not in groups together.  There can also be events occurring in these areas.  In mission areas it is only your fireteam.  Unless it's during an event or in a mission, reviving isn't that big of a deal.
178  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Hearthstone on: July 23, 2014, 03:23:15 PM
I enjoyed the raids for the WoW:TCG, but they didn't work like this.  (they were also balanced by being a coop affair)

Game feels awesome so far.  Wasn't thrilled with pvp just because it seemed like you either were on a vehicle/bike or instant paste.

streaming most/all of today on www.harkonis.com  Come see what one viewer referred to as Petyr Baelish with a mohawk...

Only played the first boss so far and it was an easy win with my usual deck.  My deck is a rogue deck with some spell damage + and backstab/evis

PvE decks can be very different from PvP decks and be successful.

If it's for Netflix, they can probably use mutants.  I'm pretty sure the deal was only for film.  Also they could technically use them for the SHIELD show, but I think it would blow continuity for the movie tie ins so they avoid it.

186  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Comcast on: July 22, 2014, 07:42:19 AM
Comcast just installed cable to our neighbors, now we have no internet.  I go outside and there is a cord running from the junction box across the lawn and to their cable box (which isn't even a box, just a bunch of wires and connectors hanging on the outside of their house).

I'm sure it's not a coincidence that our cable service is no longer working after they screw with it, and I also want to know how I'm supposed to mow the lawn with 30+ feet of cable just laying across it.  crazy people.  I'd upload pictures, but I have the feeling I need to conserve my phones data for the upcoming week. slywink

I really wanted to play the Destiny beta for XB1, but might not have internet in time.

191  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: ArchAge on: July 18, 2014, 10:23:48 AM
despite the title being spelled wrong, I like the game.  I went into the beta not expecting (or really wanting) to like it.  It does look like crafting for F2P is pretty gimped, but overall the game looks fun and like there is enough to do to keep anyone busy whether they want to farm, raise animals, quest, or kill other players.

Standalone game based on the Warcraft 3 mod NotD.  Early access still, but quite fun when it's working.

Here's a clip of the 'Bunker Mode' which is more of a traditional horde mode where you defend a spot.  The normal mode is more of a mobile survival game of scrounging supplies.  I prefer it over bunker mode, but not enough people were playing the other modes.
