Spoiler for Hiden:
I think Finn almost has to be to last as long as he did against Ren, even if Ren didn't have much training with the blade AND was severely wounded, you'd think he'd kill a non-force using lightsaber user easily.  Same with the fight versus the CQB trooper earlier

I'm looking forward to more of this

https://battle.net/recruit/VGHRBSXXXD is my recruit link

I know most of my friends who would play this already are, since I invited people when I started. However Blizzard in their infinite wisdom decided to not be retroactive with the rewards for inviting people and so we are at this. Feel free to create a new account (a Smurf account) and play to level 10 and I can do the same for you. I really want the mount you get for recruiting 4 friends to level 10 and it really blows that I've already invited well over that but whatever.

Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes has it's grip on me.  Turn based combat with a F2P system like Future Fight.

Magic the Gathering: Puzzle Quest also seems quite fun.

Warhammer 40k: Freeblade is a nice on rails RPG shooter.
125  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: December 10, 2015, 04:38:51 PM
I would be playing but for some idiotic reason they decided only physical preorders can play and not digital ones and I have no desire to buy anything physical for xbox.

But I see how it is, you'll play a game like this, but not CoD, Battlefront or even Rainbow Six with us. pfft   crybaby
126  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1]Rainbow 6: Siege on: December 09, 2015, 01:17:29 PM
I really think the default settings are causing some of the problems on console, they have a very odd deadzone setting that was causing jumpy aim.  Thankfully it's fully adjustable
127  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Call of Duty: BlOps 3 on: December 08, 2015, 12:33:24 PM
W/L is largely a part of who you play with.  If you play with competent friends you will win far more often than not in any game mode.

I am always amused by SPM vs K/D though, since a high K/D but low SPM tends to mean a camper who gets few kills per match but rarely dies.  I usually lead in kills, but also in deaths.   icon_lol

Kill Confirmed is my highest SPM, but I tend to play more TDM for the simple reason that I don't have to watch and scream at wtf my teammates are doing while we lose.  In TDM I usually don't know how awful they are doing until it's all mercifully over.  crybaby

I gave up on K/D many years ago, wish the game had a different system that included SPM and KDA.  Either way camo challenges and now specialist challenges kill my k/d anyway.  Double kills after rejack?  Let me know your K/D when you finish all Rejack related challenges without boosting...  ninja

I'm happy for this as long as the baseline requirements are not lowered to meet any silly quotas.

Once I turned the right stick deadzone down it felt very smooth.

I'm not sure what they could do to a shooter to help you Ritt.  Defiance is probably the closest to a less-twitchy shooter I've played and it's got plenty of twitch.

I'm about 99% sure that in this version LMG's move at the exact same speed as AR's (except the XR-2 which gets a mobility bonus).

The Gorgon is pretty much the most OP thing in the game at the moment (followed closely by the Purifier imo)

Takes some getting used to, but two shot kill, full auto is a rough combo.

138  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XB1 Elite controller - mecca of console control, or ridiculously overpriced? on: November 05, 2015, 05:07:34 AM
Neat little trick specifically for Halo is that if you set the hair trigger stop on the right trigger to on, then go in the software and change the deadzone and max stick settings to 50, you can get the full effects of holding all the way in without having to press the trigger much.  This is really only relevant because if you use the plasma pistol and have the trigger stops on you can't charge it up normally.
139  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XB1 Elite controller - mecca of console control, or ridiculously overpriced? on: November 04, 2015, 04:08:23 PM
So far in Halo I use a paddle for melee, a paddle for boost and a paddle for jump.  Not sure how I'll do BO3 yet, need to check the controls again.  Likely need melee, jump and switch weapon (for Y-Y cancels since I have to unlearn sprint cancels which no longer work)
140  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: XB1 Elite controller - mecca of console control, or ridiculously overpriced? on: November 04, 2015, 02:26:00 PM
I'm in love with mine.  I took one paddle off, just the bottom right.  Hand got fatigued and painful too fast holding it so I didn't hit that one on accident.  The other three paddles work like a charm and go a long way towards what I love about it.  The material feels amazing, the dpad is amazing, the sticks are amazing.  It's expensive, but for anyone who cares about any of these things it's worth the price imo.

edit:  If you aren't using ANY of the paddles though, not sure it's worth the price.  Might still be because of high quality construction, but a big draw is the ability to have an official non-modded version of the scuf controllers and with higher quality at that.
141  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Xbox One Discussion on: November 03, 2015, 12:23:32 AM
Mine had always been super accurate with one glaring exception (other than the stupid fact that whoever decided the keyword should be the name of the console should be slapped).  That exception is anytime I say 'that Sucks' it would open the listening menu and screw up my game if in multiplayer.  Hint:  I say 'that sucks' a lot while doing multiplayer gaming so this sucks.

I'm curious if the new voice recognition isn't fully using the kinect processor for some reason.  Seems odd it went from spot on most of the time with the occasional hiccup to mostly wrong with some hilariously misheard things.

I am playing a tad, and transfered servers because a friend of my fiancee is a heavy player with a huge guild and they do wvw.  Figured if I end up playing more, that's where I'll want to be.  Not picked up expansion yet, might not.  Still only level 30ish

I had a few bugs with the new one, more than any previous preview but not enough to roll it back (especially since if you roll back it does a factory reset)

150  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: How long do you give a game to capture your interest? on: October 22, 2015, 02:28:07 PM
less as I get older, but it generally depends on how my brain THINKS I will like it too.  If a game has tons of features and concepts I think I'll like, I'll stick it out longer.

1 hour isn't enough for anything that isn't in your face action.  Anything story based likely takes longer to get rolling since they don't have the pacing of a movie.  Anything RPG/campaign based typically takes time to show the meat of the game system as well.  A lot of games an hour is barely enough time to figure out how to play, let alone how to play well or what the depth of the game is.

I do no longer care about playing games I'm not actually enjoying.  I don't care how far into a game I am, if I stop having fun I shelve it.

edit: the number of games I hated/disliked the first hour and ended up loving them proves I just can't use 1 hour as the limit.  Even within a game some things take time to appreciate.  Playing Vermintide lately, got a new weapon and took it out for a spin. Hated it and thought it was useless for the greater part of the first mission, now it's one of my favorite weapons in the game.

I've already paid for and preloaded as much as I can for Halo, CoD, Battlefront.  Gonna be a rough shooter season.  At least two of these have 4 player coop campaigns too.

Will be splitting my time between Elder Scrolls Online, Final Fantasy XIV, and the Star Wars Battlefront beta.

Put a little time in to SW:B the other day. Looks fantastic on the computer and plays great too. The beta has 1 solo/co-op mission where you fight waves of storm troopers. Then two multiplayer specific maps. One 6 on 6 map where you capture points on a volcanic rock type planet. The other one is the 32/32(?) Hoth map which I didn't try yet since I was sucking so much.

I'm both anticipating and regretting the game (I pre-purchased). I love the look of the game and can't wait to play all the maps. But regretting it since I know my FPS skills have waned to where I'm not that great anymore. Titanfall gave me some hope as I ended up getting pretty good at that but I know the Battlefield games are a different beast.

this doesn't really have much in common with Battlefield, especially in the skill set required.  Aiming does nothing to accuracy for example, neither does stance

those type of games are just meant to be played in short sessions if you don't want to pay.  doesn't sound pay to win, sounds pay to play to me. (is there even any pvp?  hard to be p2w without any vs at all)
