though the netflix series haven't had any direct connection plot wise as of yet, the tv show did and there are small things around Winter Soldier that might make more sense if you were watching the show as well just fyi.  (though season one is kinda lame imo)

Gigantic, Fractured Space, Heroes of the Storm, Paladins beta on xbox.
3  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (CoD goes Halo) on: December 18, 2016, 11:32:04 AM
I own it, but honestly get more of a CoD feel from Titanfall 2.  I saw Drifter playing though.  I haven't revisited since launch but it felt clunky on the controls to me this time.  I preferred BO3
4  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [Movie] Rogue One - A Star Wars Story on: December 16, 2016, 10:32:59 PM
The first CGI enhanced character didn't bother me at all.  Funny enough, the eyes were real if I remember correctly so the blinking was probably not cgi like the rest.  that one was an actor with CGI touch up rather than fully CGI motion captured.  The other CGI person did bug me though
5  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: For Honor [PC/XB1/PS4] - Ubisoft melee battlefield game on: December 16, 2016, 04:04:08 PM
I'm not sure what you are asking for, this is a melee combat action game as well.  Do you want more 'God of War' like action?  Not sure that's really doable with multiplayer in a way that would be fun.

If you want melee combat, you have to have some sort of blocking/parry system and that's what is providing the complexity.

For Honor tech test, Heroes of the Storm event, Hearthstone a tad, Overwatch a bit, Gigantic for awhile, Dreadnought event for some.  https://www.greybox.com/dreadnought/en/news/update-14-sands-mars/

Lots to do

I've got 2 more invites to send out to be able to play in the event this weekend mentioned above.  PM me email address if interested, first come first serve.  Not sure if these let you keep playing afterwards but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.

I still have a couple 'real' invites as well that give loot for the full game when released, but holding on to those for people who plan to play longer.  Don't want to 'waste' them on a try out.  If you end up really liking the game let me know and I might hook ya up.  icon_cool

I am so in love with this game, hoping it works out ok in the end.

Did you also enjoy the previous test they did?  It felt far too nuanced and hardcore to me at that point to be enjoyable.

I did, It's still a game that has a higher skill floor than many games are willing to.  I don't find it any harder to grasp than most fighting games though and is a similar style of thinking so it worked quickly for me.  If you simplify how combat works, you can kinda break it down to a rough rps system, just with a lot more choices and freedom.  3 directions to choose from, gotta match the enemy to block, gotta not match to get through.  Also grab/guardbreak beats block, fast hits can interupt, heavy hits can parry, etc.  Each move of each character has counters/weaknesses to learn and exploit while you work to cover up your classes' weakness or leverage the things it excels at.

It's not a game you can just fire up, smash buttons and do well at.  It's part of why I love it so much.  I've always been someone who likes to look deeper at game systems and figure out how they work best and max that.

uplay harkonis7, anyone in the tech test friend me up for some headbashy

Saw it and loved it.  I'm sure someone can pick apart something about it, but on first viewing while just enjoying it nothing stood out and I love that.

Saving my Overwatch for Xmas stuff I think.  Doing some HotS, Atlas Reactor, Titanfall and a bit of Gigantic beta

I think I own a few as part of the games for gold thing on xb1, just never fired them up
16  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Guardians of the Galaxy on: December 03, 2016, 08:37:04 PM
having never played any of the telltale games, what type of game are they?  the trailers and pictures make me feel they are just interactive movies/comic books.  how much game is there?
17  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: November 29, 2016, 10:50:36 PM
nobody ever said anything changed <30.  All the changes were made to post 30 ttk's.  Having said that, I didn't feel like the ttk felt bullet spongie until 30 even at launch.  Again I'd say you probably just aren't hitting headshots, or are using weapons that are underpowered.

The only other thing I can see is you were expecting rainbow six levels of lethality, which the game was never trying to hit.  The experience right now is comparable to the only other similar game I can think of, which is Destiny.
18  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: November 29, 2016, 10:04:08 PM
Sorry you guys feel that way, unless your gun is way underlevelled though I don't see how you can feel that way.  Fighting stuff at World Tier 5 with my newly acquired gear and I kill normal guys in 5-10 rounds with only the elites taking a full mag.  Bosses might require a reload.  Hit them in the head and use your abilities and things die really damned fast now (including you if you don't use cover now)

upgrade weapons, aim for head, things die fast.

I'm up for Division: Survival or Homefront Coop as well.  Also going to be doing some Titanfall 2, Overwatch, Elder Scrolls Online and Atlas Reactor.

edit: just joined a R6:Siege club, thanks to clubs I can now play the game with little to no teamkilling even without you fools who have overlooked a great game slywink
20  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] The Division (Tom Clancy) on: November 24, 2016, 04:16:27 AM
Both the DLC's are single player playable as well, and are also good coop content.
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (CoD goes Halo) on: November 08, 2016, 06:41:22 PM
fired this up and my biggest and most obvious complaints are the sluggish menus and the really bad character animations.  Titanfall 2 now has me spoiled but a lot of the animations especially in mp look like they have skipped frames and are lacking the smoothness that should be there.
22  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (CoD goes Halo) on: November 05, 2016, 11:30:30 PM
I enjoyed the mp in the beta quite a lot and had it not been for the divisions rework, titanfall 2 and bf 1 releasing, I'd be all in for this one.  Division and BF1 might be different enough, but the core gameplay of Titanfall and CoD feel similar enough I don't mind missing it for now.

I  haven't read anything about 2k dropping it just yet, though it is likely.  TRS is no longer attached the project, but 2k still owns and controls all of it and it's entirely possible they will monetize the f2p stuff asap and see how it goes with a new skeletal crew just to get some $$$.
26  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (October 23, 2016) on: October 25, 2016, 03:10:06 AM
titanfall 2 on xb1, also grabbed BF1 on xb1

I'm on XB1 playing the trial and my guy turns faster to the left than right.  This seems odd and there is no setting to change that.  what do?

I guess I'm the outlier then.  I thought even in the early game the enemies took way too many hits and the whole thing was kind of boring.

If the pre-30 enemies took too many hits, you were likely undergeared by a bit for the content you were doing.  Once you were in decent even-level gear the ttk felt a lot like games I was used to in the past.

I know I quite enjoyed the 1-30 game before.  There was just a wall at 30 where all of a sudden things lived way too long.

31  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC] Atlas Reactor on: October 10, 2016, 11:41:52 PM
the humble bundle version at https://www.humblebundle.com/store/atlas-reactor-atlas-edition is actually the old founder's version with all the extras it came with. so cheaper than the steam one and more stuff too.
32  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC] Atlas Reactor on: October 10, 2016, 05:51:37 PM
I think you'd enjoy it, but you're going to have to get used to the turn time limit which is pretty fast for people who are used to thinking things through all the way.
33  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC] Atlas Reactor on: October 10, 2016, 02:42:25 PM
If you do decide you like it and want to buy, I think Humble Bundle has a cheaper deal than the main website

Trion games turn based 4v4 combat.  Quick paced but cerebral.  I'm loving it.  It's on steam but runs through 'Glyph' the Trion launcher.

Would love some discussion about it.  I've done more pve than pvp so far

Having a blast in Atlas Reactor, would encourage people to try it out, and not just because I get a fancy skin if you do it through my link slywink   Referral Link

Game is quite fun and the polish is coming along great.  Shame they are confusing some players since they are not f2p, but are in the f2p section of steam though.  gonna make a thread for the game too.
