This game was the only reason I saw to buy a PS4 at launch. Didnt know it was coming out on every platform. Now I see no reason not to wait for a ps4.

I was an avid PC gamer. Almost exclusive. Upgraded my pc every two years. newest video card. Had two Monster PC cards SLI back in the day.

Half Life 2. I was really looking forward to it. I bought it ran home installed it on my new monster pc. The sound did not work and the game stuttered. The fix took over two months to come out after several lost weekends of trying different configurations. It was over for me. Beginning of the end. HD gaming came out on the consoles. I was gone.

Fastforward to 2012. My PC illiterate friend bought Black Ops 2 on the pc I was over his house for a party. It would not play at all. After upgrading everything the game now runs marginally I spent 2 hours just getting it to that point.

I play Rise of Nations with my nephew at the holidays on my LAN we have a blast. So I decided hey lets get Rise of Legends. ITS 2012 WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD THIS NOW? Steam? nope. Got it online, (bought two copies)came last night. Installed it.. First machine WONT RUN direct x issues. Had to reinstall directx on a new installation. Second PC the game wont retain the serial number asks for it everytime I run the game. Annoying, but it runs. OK on to play the game. It connects on my lan start the game. DROPS A PLAYER in about a minute completely unplayable. Oh, look how nice the game searches for updates in the menu. OOPS cannot connect rise of legends suggests perhaps its a firewall issue? Play with firewall settings for quite some time.. nothing. On to the forums OH, the update servers are DOWN FOR GOOD. No problem, I will download the update manually. Oh, OUCH no. They dont have them up to get manually. Read the forums... lots of outrage about that. Connect a gigabit switch eliminated the rest of my network to isolate the issue still disconnects.  (HOURS IN AT THIS POINT)

Search the boards found a small mention about MSMXLS.msi (XML PARSER) being required to play the game online. Oh how nice. Downloaded it installed it and played the game it no longer disconnects. Was exhausted did not enjoy the game. Wonder what all my "CONFIGURING" has now broken other aspects of the os.

Ahhh PC GAMING GO TO HELL.

The price should be lower. You dont actually own anything this way. You own a license which can be revoked if you read the jargon.  The reason Ios  games work is PRICE 99 cents 1.99.. if the game license were revoked you would not care. At 59.99 I care a lot.

My game time is precious I often have small time increments to play IE: I have one free hour before I have to go do something else. I have multiple 360's around the house so I can play where I want so I save all my game saves to the cloud. During the holiday the cloud went down for a full day. I could not play anything.

This is entirely unacceptable. This is a paid service. If you cannot play your game for the Durango/720 because the authentication server is down. You are going to be pissed.

That ship has sailed. I have shelves full of DVDs that have been ripped onto my media server. What I dont own I stream.

Hetz, Im not that excited either.. Im just getting it for the collection...and the eventual mario and zelda games. Im really not excited at all the Wii was my least favorite console ever.

I think you are right Destructor, rather this is people buying them for ebay. The manager of the store told me he pre-ordered 3 just to sell them later.

Talk about surprise, I went to gamestop this weekend to order to find out that the premium was sold out on Friday.. Heck, I wasnt concerned. I didnt think anyone even wanted one. There is almost no hype for this thing. That said, I preordered the white one.. Im still not even convinced this thing will be anything to be excited about.

Could it be they are just not making enough of these?

Played Zelda Skyward Sword last night. After the reviews it was getting, I couldn't resist picking it up as I am a huge Zelda fan. YIKES talk about buyers remorse! Granted I just finished Assassins Creed Revelations, which has buttery smooth controls and amazing graphics and adult story line. Perhaps the jump from Assassins Creed to Zelda is just too harsh.

The villans in this game would make John Hughes proud. I think Joe Pesci in Home Alone 1 was more intimidating that the BULLYS in the sky city. I understand Nintendo is skewing this game to a younger demographic... but even my 10 and 12 year old glazed over.

Zelda played like an N64 game. I was horrified, HORRIFIED at the graphics. They look like n64 vaseline on the lens blurry... My son walks by and snickers at what Im playing, and says, wow something wrong with the tv? why so blurry?. Honestly, I wanted to clean my glasses... it hurts the eyes to watch. Im really no graphics whore, but this is a bit much.

The game starts out with climbing... which really shows its age. The world is unbelievably empty as you walk through the first town...Time has done nothing but sour my palpable disdain for the Wii control methods.. I dont want to SHAKE both controllers to land a finishing blow.. seems silly really.

I know why Nintendo refuses to voice act a game.. COST. But the mumblings of the characters is really silly. On top of that the amount of text you have to read is just stupid.

How the mighty have fallen. I only played about two hours last night. And I fully acknowledge that this game could pick up. Where it stands right now is a sad tale of how Nintendo has lost its way.

Link has the personality of a crash test dummy. In the opening sequences of the game, he had his "BIRD" stolen and shows absolutely no emotion what so ever. I understand the design choice, as its supposed to be YOU as the character... But it really removes you from being emotionally envolved in the slightest with the characters.

On the plus side, the MUSIC is amazing. Really like a feature film, really fits the theme. Brillant.

WHO the hell are they selling this game to? 40+ year old nostalgia freaks? Or 10 year olds..who are mostly playing Call of Duty and snicker at the simplicity of this game. Pixar movies have a deeper soul than this. They have satisfied neither.

Nintendo continues to sail out to the sea of mediocrity.

And my prediction is the WII U will continue the downward spiral. Ignoring graphics as Microsoft and Sony move the graphics to the NEXT level... Seems like a horrible mistake. I want to play a zelda game with 360 level graphics. Is the Wii U Nintendo's Dreamcast? I think so.

Streaming Video, be it, Roku, Apple TV.. Xbox Live.. As the streaming technology gets better IE: more content available on instant viewing on Netflix.. WHY OWN MEDIA? Store this crap pay for it.

That said, this wont happen tommorow. It will be a gradual change. You are safe with your player for a little while..

Netflix wont activate for me... the only feature I cared about.

This game is so damn fun. I LOVE IT.

I just wish it wouldn't crash and freeze and get broken missions so often. But lordy, is it ever worth the occasional frustration.

While I was playing last night it occurred to me just how much GAME is in the game. These giant playground open world games are turning into all the game anyone ever needs with so many sights to see and modes to play, any one of which would have been a complete purchase all by itself 10 or 15 years ago. Anyone remember Destruction Derby for the PC from 1996? That was pretty cool but nowhere near as robust and fun as the Demolition Derby mode in SR2. Or Midtown Madness. Heli Assault mode is such a blast they could build it into a stand alone title.

GTA IV was a lot of fun but it left me with a bad taste in my mouth, especially after the brutally unforgiving checkpointless final mission. So far this game is doing a much better job of being just plain fun rather than strict or unforgiving. Even the writing and cutscenes are well done, at least when they stick to the comic side of things. Some of them are pointlessly grim.

Anyway, I love this game. It's genius.

While I agree with you that this game is just right of fantastic. I’m feeling more and more like I’m saying something sacrilegious to say that this game is more fun than GTA 4.

Well, it is. GTA is a technical MARVEL. One of the most technically amazing games I have ever played. I enjoyed the story and everyone was who played talked about which path they chose in the story line and why.

While this story is somewhat competent, no one will be talking about the story line. They will be talking about how much damn fun they had running around the world getting  lost in the diversions.

Saints Row 1 diversions were dreadful; I had no desire to go on with the story line because I did not want to do any more of those stupid diversions. Whereas, these diversions in many ways are BETTER than the missions.

I have so many games sitting in my gaming chest at the moment, and I have more to purchase, DEAD SPACE, FABLE 2, FAR CRY 2.  I have several games that I have not even picked up to play WARHEAD for instance, I wanted to finish TR: Anniversary before the new tomb raider comes out. They are all getting ignored as I gleefully run through Saints Row 2 creating havoc.


I will not lie, I was going to TOTALLY pass on this title, Morton talked me into it. And I thank him…
