881  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Netflix delays shipping of high volume customers on: February 11, 2005, 09:53:10 PM
Well, Netflix is continuing their crap.  My queue showed a movie shipping on Wednesday, the 9th.  TODAY (the 11th) I get the e-mail that it shipped and sure enough my mailbox at home was empty.  Mail from Lansing to the Detroit area takes one day every time.  Should have been here on the 10th, but they held it for 2 days (assuming I get it tomorrow, the 12th).

Do NOT say "Shipping Today" when that clearly is not the case.  I find it hilarious that during everyone's two-week trial, all movies only take a day to reach you.  After that.....all bets are off.

The BB card might be good for me, but I hate going to the actual BB store.
882  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Netflix delays shipping of high volume customers on: February 10, 2005, 10:04:07 PM
Agreed.  If they have a cap, they need to state it.  Not make you think you're getting all you can view.

If Netflix is worried about pirates then they need to institute a cap.  Otherwise, it's open season and they need to deliver what they promise.
883  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / DVD audio ripping - any thoughts? on: February 04, 2005, 08:26:42 PM
I use "#1 DVD Audio Ripper" to convert all my concert DVD's to WAV's and then to MP3's.  Awesome program.
884  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Simple KOTOR 2 Question on: February 01, 2005, 09:48:02 PM
Considering KOTOR1 on the PC was better than on the Xbox, I figure the same will hold true for KOTOR2.  I'd wait and get it on the PC.
885  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Any interest in resurrecting an Xbox Live night? on: January 30, 2005, 06:33:39 PM

I'd like to try, but newborns leave little free time.

Ditto here.  I usually can't commit to a specific night or time anymore.  All my single buddies are pissed.

Not a package, but can't you pick up the 12 month card for 50 bucks?

Personally, I think I'm going to look at Logitech's wireless headset.  I think it's around 70 or 80 bucks.

888  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Biggest eBay Pet Peeve!!! on: January 29, 2005, 04:50:23 PM
Good examples Laner.

Honestly, if all that shit happened to me I don't think I would even bother selling stuff on Ebay.
889  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Biggest eBay Pet Peeve!!! on: January 29, 2005, 02:22:25 PM
How many times does this happen though?  Not many I would guess.

I used to leave feedback (as a buyer) whenever I received the item, but got sick and tired of the seller NOT leaving feedback on my payment.  The seller would enjoy my positive feedback on them, but I would get jackshit.
890  Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / WOW in stock today at EB Games on: January 29, 2005, 12:55:50 AM
Called the Northville, MI store at 3:30pm and they had one copy left.  I drove across the street (I can see EB from my office window) and bought it.  Damn thing was open and gutted.  Usually I would give a shit about EB's policy, but not this time.

On a related note, both EB and BB had a crapload of EQ2 boxes on the shelves.
891  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Do you ever wish you could change the outcome of a movie? on: January 26, 2005, 03:03:47 AM
What I wanna know is why the damn eagle didn't just fly them all TO Mount Doom from the start.  It took them home so it sure as hell could have dropped them off there.
892  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Biggest eBay Pet Peeve!!! on: January 26, 2005, 02:14:08 AM
What is the percentage of getting screwed over by a buyer?  Close to nil?  Sure it can happen, but more than likely it will not.  You are penalizing the majority of good, upstanding buyers by withholding feedback on the minute chance of getting screwed.  That's unfair to the majority playing by the rules.

Likewise, I refuse to leave feedback as a buyer for a seller that has not left feedback on my payment.  I completed my end of the bargain first and they need to recognize that.

As a seller, I have ALWAYS left feedback upon payment.  I haven't been screwed as a seller since I started in '98.
893  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Biggest eBay Pet Peeve!!! on: January 25, 2005, 10:03:54 PM
I can't remember where we discussed this before.....either here or at OO.

As a seller, you should IMMEDIATELY leave feedback when the buyer pays.  The buyer completed his end of the transaction....end of story.

Star Wars:

Luke's final tordepo shot misses.  The Death Star blows Yavin to smithereens taking Leia, C3PO, R2D2, and the Rebellion right along with it.

No other movies are made, thus ensuring that the world never has the pleasure of meeting Jar Jar Binks.

It's funny they went from 15 mill to 35 mill to all of a sudden 350 mill.

Somebody woke up to the fact they were cheap asses when just Amazon was about to pass their initial aid.

The US started feeling sheepish after seeing this thread.

Seriously though, 35 mill was bullshit.

Well, they are still going to leave negative feedback regardless.  You are only withholding your feedback to see if you can get back at the scammers if need be.  That's unfair to the majority that are completing their end of the deal.

My own personal feedback should probably be about 70-90 points higher but isn't because the seller was waiting for me (the buyer) to post feedback first.  Ain't gonna happen, especially when I completed my end first.
913  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Need a little eBay help here. on: December 31, 2004, 08:56:55 PM
Can't you leave a comment/response under feedback if you get dicked?  The scammers are few and far between.  The majority of the buyers pay and there is no funny business.  You should leave feedback upon receiving payment.

On the front page of Amazon.com, there a BIG link to donate to the American Red Cross via Amazon.com. As of right now, 47367 people have donated $2,713,371.49. Absolutely amazing that this small amount of people have come up with almost 1/10 of the US response (which is rather small IMHO).

Americans are known for giving endlessly when the shit hits the fan. All money donated via Amazon is going to the Red Cross 100 percent.
