Is there no way to attack using the keyboard? I'm finding that I'm staring at the 4 portraits during combat for click aiming rather than watching the combat.
No. And I think this is a poor design choice. I don't want to spend combat staring at a hand. I like the game, but it spins up the fan on my 460 like crazy. make sure you have vsync turned on, otherwise it'll render too quickly and cause your temps to go up. Thanks CeeKay. I had to go searching because the fan noise was driving me crazy. I found out without vsynch the game can render up to 200fps. The temp never got high enough to hurt my card, but the fan noise hurt me. I can be such an idiot. The game says use lmb to put weapon in the hand, and rmb to attack. So for the first level and a half i was left clicking then right clicking for every swing. Duh. Then in a big flurry I realised my idiocy. Combat is much smoother now.

Duh, I must be missing something obvious to everyone else. Just bought this from the Dev's and activated it on Steam. Where is all the bonus extra stuff kept?
The screen and/or email that displayed the Steam key also had a link to download the pre-order bonus stuffs. Thank you! I skipped right over that. Read it but didn't realize it was clickable.

Nice find! Coming out this year too. Have to admire these guys. I remember when PB first formed before the first Gothic games. It was 5 guys in a house. Now it's 25 guys in the same house. I hope the best for this three guys. Not the biggest fan of cel games, but adult viking rpg and strat stuff? Could be a lot of fun.

That last boss of Risen was awful, and inexcusable imho. I really hate when Dev's break all the rules of their game for an end boss. The only way I could beat this one was looking it up on utube. it's not that hard is you know the tricks. Still very lame though. Even though I love PB as a dev, their endings are always on the bad side. Since everything up til then brings me a great deal of enjoyment, I can forgive them that.

Oh God, I might have to try this. That was a very cool plane and getting into furballs with 109's could be a blast. Except for the fact that I really suck at these games. At least I won't have to manage radar modes and sensors of interest.

Got this on steam holiday sale. Cranked it up and got a slide show. That hasn't happened in years. The internet makes it pretty easy to fix things, especially when the games has been out for a while. So I got it running smooth with everything maxed except shadows. I love the atmosphere but I am having a hard time getting into the gameplay. As posted earlier, the detective pawing all the evidence seems wrong. So you just kinda show up at scenes and click on stuff? And I'm having a tough time understanding the feedback from the interragation to know what I'm doing. I could have sworn I heard the correct chimes to all my questions and then it told me I got 2/4 right. I will keep at it but it seems pretty dull so far.

$250 bucks? Very few people will buy that.
People buy harmony remotes. People buy Keurig and Tassimo coffee makers. People bought the Wii. I think you overestimate people. What the hell is wrong with getting a Keurig?

Unfortunately PB has a tradition of crappy endings. Still makes 90% of the game great though. Can't wait for this one.

Took me to level 35 to figure out this wait, aren't you introduced to three standing stones right at the beginning after you escape Helgen? Not that I remember. If they did it went right over my tiny little brain. There's a bug I experienced where that npc takes a different route (past the mine) on the way to Riverwood, without stopping at the stones. Maybe that happened here? Maybe. I sure don't remember anything about stones. that's okay. Enjoying the game and enjoyed finding them now. Still has the ES design decision that I don't like, but I'm getting my money's worth of fun.

A little help please with magic. I read somewhere that if you wear armor you don't cast spells at 100%. There is supposed to be a tab somewhere which shows what % you are casting at. I can't find it anywhere. Is this indeed true? Also, level 18 and still at novice destruction spells. Do you have to buy higher level spells from somewhere? Don't tell me where if this is true, I'm all for discovery, just it's been a while, I've finished up the mage line quests, and explored some other cities and still no destruction higher lever spells seen. Am I missing something?

Okay Oblivion this ain't. I already have bailed on a couple of areas that were just a little too tough. I think Skyrim has a lot more atmosphere than OB and I have barely scratched it's surface. Combat is much more satisfying as well and I can feel the connection when I land a solid hit. A couple of nits to pick: I get some graphic corruptions-usually involving shadows. Quiting and starting again gets rid of it. If I hit continue-why does it ask me again if I want to continue? Same with quit to desktop-please don't ask me twice. But I love this game, and I think it will carry me well into and probably past the next steam sale-which is way cool.

Well crud I have a graphics bug. In the initital sequence the tree's were flickering like mad and when I looked up the trees moved up into the sky. When I looked down they came back down. This is on an Nvidia 460. I haven't gotten back outside since then so I'm hoping it doesn't come back but I doubt it. The inside part looked fine. Also still trying to get used to the interface. And I got the prompt for the optional quest to unlock the cage before I got to the room with the cage! Drove me crazy looking around the room where I was trying to find something to unlock Gave up, moved ahead, ahhh, here are the cages. I think I will enjoy the game if I can fix the graphics glitch.

oh shit, you can use a VPN to connect to an australian server and it'll unlock at 12am there. Just tried it and it works. 2 hours to go! https://www.vpnsecure.me/ i used that for the 2 day VPN trial for 2 bucks. just sign up and install. exit steam then connect to a server. restart steam and boom! I guess you have to stay connected(no problem there) or go into offline mode and disconnect if you want. also, wow do aussies get raped on prices. Crap! No idea if this is related but they stopped taking new registrations. Still were an hr ago but when I just tried to set it up now when my download of Skyrim was finished they said no more registrations

Yes Ron will post the review at 1pm GMT. I can't believe how ready I am for this game. After I first thought I would not buy it on day 1 at all now I can't wait and it has slowed time to a crawl.

Yeah I'm getting this day 1 as well. Been playing old stuff lately and just want to see some state of the art stuff. If it shares Oblivion's faults I can't run back here and blame Ceekay. Wish I could though.
