YellowKing Dishonored is great. If you are finishing up then I'm sure you already know that.
I'm playing Far Cry 3 killing time before the Banner Saga releases on Tuesday. First gameday release I have gotten in forever. Having a harder time getting into Far Cry 3 than 2. Early yet. I can say I really hate the save system.
82  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Games Finished 2014 Edition on: January 08, 2014, 11:00:42 PM
Both Dishonored DLC. Okay, but shows the limits of DLC. Not enough time to develop the character and pretty short, especially Knife of Dunwall. But it was more of Dishonored, which is a good thing.
The Banner Saga.
Far Cry 3. took about 2 hrs to get into it for me. Really enjoyed the middle, then clearing the last couple of towers and forts had become somewhat boring. I did enjoy the game over all.
Castlevania-had to quit in the middle as it became impossible to finish with M/K. Bummer as I was enjoying it.
Metro Last Light- somewhat of a letdown. Did not like it as much as the first. Too relentlessly linear.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Very fun. Exactly what I was looking for.
Shadowrun returns: Dead man switch. Fun game, a little short.
Enclave. Simple action RPG but for $1 I had a great deal of fun with it.
Two worlds 2 Pirates of the flying Fortress. More TW2 goodness!! 13+ hr DLC is a nice big slice as well.
83  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What Collector's Edition purchase do you regret most? on: January 01, 2014, 02:13:46 PM
It would have to be the only one I ever bought: Oblivion. I was just so into the hype for that game, and had been waiting for it to come out for what seemed like for ever. Then I never really looked at any of the stuff and just played the game. Taught me a lesson though, so it wasn't all bad.

I'd like to tell the Dev's that made FTL-very good game, but next time how about making easy mode, oh I don't know, easy? Without the lamo
Spoiler for Hiden:
3 stage very hard to kill can't save, probably can't repair boss fight at the end.
85  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 12/27/13 on: December 28, 2013, 03:08:52 PM
FTL and Dishonored DLC. FTL is very addictive. I haven't come close to winning yet, even though I switched over to easy. I am making progress though.
86  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/360/Ps3] Bioshock: Infinite - Impressions Incoming! Impressions pg 6 on: December 23, 2013, 03:50:24 PM
Lttp. Just finished the main game. Have to say I was rather disappointed. Relentlessly linear, hardly any upgrades to look forward to, and I never really got into Elizabeth. There just wasn't much to the combat either. I early on discovered blast with electric and then use burst gun and pretty much everything goes down. And the last big set piece battle was more annoying than anything else. The story never grabbed me either. Game was a letdown overall. And it was rather short.
87  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Games you are looking forward to in 2014? on: December 20, 2013, 05:57:42 PM
The Banner saga. I actually broke my self imposed $10 limit and paid $19.99 for the preorder because I liked what I heard about the devs and I really like the look and promise of this game. Can't wait for Jan 14th to get here!
88  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: 2013 GOTY/G.O.A.T on: December 13, 2013, 09:10:25 PM
I didn't play any of the bad ones. I only buy games on the cheap now and an added plus is I can avoid the duds. My game of the year would have to be Tomb Raider. Much better than I thought it would be. I think I had more fun this year with ME3 and Deus Ex, but those games are older.
89  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 11/22/13 on: November 23, 2013, 01:09:59 PM
Where is the Dishonored DLC on sale?
90  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 11/22/13 on: November 22, 2013, 07:49:33 PM
Finally playing Vampire: The Masquerade. Had the dreaded save bug so I got to play the starter dungeon 3 times but it's been smooth sailing so far. Only niggle I have is I never thought mighty vampires had to feed after every little battle but I think I'm going to enjoy this game. And for $2.50 you really can't beat it.
91  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 11/15/13 on: November 16, 2013, 03:16:49 PM
Finishing up Max Payne 3. While I hate the death in slow motion and lack of save anywhere, I enjoy everything else and they nailed the vibe of the series.
92  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Weekend Playlist - 11/08/13 on: November 08, 2013, 10:35:47 PM
Max Payne 3. Has the Max Payne flavor, but too many gotcha kills and no save anywhere. I do like the give you more bullet time and meds if you keep failing idea though. But dying often in slow mo is a pain.
93  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 10/25/13 on: October 27, 2013, 12:47:33 PM
Path of Exile. Very addictive, and free!
94  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 10/18/13 on: October 18, 2013, 03:10:37 PM
Dishonored.  Enjoying myself.
95  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 10/11/13 on: October 11, 2013, 03:49:49 PM
I think I'm close to the end of X-Comm, enemy unknown. If I do indeed finish it Dishonored will be up next.

Getting my ass handed to me in X-com. Enjoying it though.
97  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Weekend Playlist - 09/27/13 on: September 27, 2013, 05:01:00 PM
Just finished Tomb Raider this morning. Great game, had a blast. Hope they do a sequel. I know it "only" sold 3 million or so, but I hope they do one anyway. So it's on to X-com. Fired it up and saw the opening cinematic, but as soon as my guys landed in Germany it was time for work-it always gets in the way. So I will be learning this over the weekend. I hope it can keep my stellar run going. ME3 and TR back to back was way fun.

Tomb Raider 3

Finished ME3. Besides being rather relentlessly linear, and the rally the troops speeches being pretty cliche, I fail to see what all the wailing and gnashing of teeth was about. Otherwise, just a great game, outside of the mini slowdowns every time it had to check home with Origin.

I'm on the cusp of finishing Mass Effect three. Almost time to see what about the ending was that created all the angst.

you have fun.  of course, if you've got the 'we're sorry we screwed up the endings let us try and flesh them out a bit' DLC then you'll be missing out on the original angst.

I deliberately tried to keep it unpatched so that I can see the original. I got this for free on a New Egg deal so I actually have the disc, which is unusual for me these days. However you still have to go to the Origin client to play it so I hope it didn't "Stealth patch" it. I should know tonight.

Then it will be on to the new Tomb Raider.

I generally don't like side scrolling platformers and avoid them like the plague. But that trailer looked flat out amazing and I will have to try the demo for sure.

ME 3. Really loving this. Most fun I've had gaming this year.
105  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What are you buying this week? (09/02) on: September 02, 2013, 11:12:53 PM
Bought Tomb Raider as it hit 9.99, my target. Just have to wait a bit to play it as I just started ME3. So far I'm having more fun with that than any game I have played this year.

Only thing I like is AC4, but I don't buy games on release.
Love the the slide deck, very easy to navigate through.

Just started Mass Effect 3. Excited to wrap up the trilogy and see what so many hated in the ending.

AC 3 Almost done with Captain Kids Treasure. Best part of the game so far. Still can't figure out the whole crafting and recipe thing to set up convoys. Even trying to read up on line. Annoyingly complex. At least I'm not forced to do it.

AC 3. Just started a mission with Paul Revere.
110  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: What is the DLC sweet-spot price point for you? on: August 15, 2013, 08:55:04 PM
I know I'm way in the minority on this, but I've thought games have been way too expensive for what they are worth for a long time, when they climbed above $50 I think. Talking PC games here as I don't own or play consoles. Steam has been a godsend and I won't buy a game for more than $10. Since I also have no use for multiplayer, they all get to $10 eventually, so I just wait them out. As far as DLC goes, never had any use for different clothes or maps. Added content is another matter. Was tempted a bit for the Bioshock games but by the time they come out I have spent many hrs with the game and am on to something else. Dishonored has me somewhat intrigued. I have the game but haven't played it yet. If I really enjoy it as I expect to, I'll probably get the DLC on a Steam sale.

AC 3. Really starting the open part of the game now. Enjoying it quite a bit. Captain Kidd's treasure quest line is a blast.
112  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Have you ever beaten....an Ultima game? on: August 07, 2013, 03:41:26 PM
Sadly no. When these games were new I was gaming on a mac, enjoying MM. Last year I tried to play VII and IX from GOG. Could get past the graphics on VII, couldn't even tell what any of the object were. IX was a pretty bad game but I was slogging through. Then it broke and corrupted my save. Had to move on.

I'm playing AC3 now and have to say I'm enjoying it. The first set of naval battles was a blast. Can't wait for more of that and upgrading my ship. Also was a hoot taking part in the Boston Tea party. I still agree it was an odd setting choice for a climbing game and I like the middle east and Rome better. I also have a few glitches. But it still has a lot of AC magic for me, but then I'm a pretty forgiving gamer. As long as I'm having some kind of fun, that's fine.

Beat the first 4 and Conviction is sitting in my backlog pile.

Command and Conquer 1. Only one I played.
117  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 8/02/13 on: August 05, 2013, 03:33:59 PM
So I finally got to the point in AC3 where the game opens up. Had my first naval battle, invaded my first fort. So the game has it's hooks in me now, I'm liking it much better. Still nothing as cool as the tomb runs, which I really loved, but at least I'm having a good time.
118  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 8/02/13 on: August 02, 2013, 05:28:59 PM
I think there is quite a difference between climbing the old north church and the Roman colloseum!
119  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Weekend Playlist -- 8/02/13 on: August 02, 2013, 03:43:47 PM
AC3 As an AC fanboy, I have to admit this one isn't grabbing me quite like the others.  It's taking it's sweet time getting to the open world part, and climbing around Boston doesn't seem as natural as in the Middle East and Rome. But still, I'm just getting into it.

Risen 2. About 80% of the way through.
