Nope. But I can't believe it doesn't come with it.

I'm liking this, even with the big markers over characters heads. I got this on steam and I cannot find the freaking manual. Haven't been able to google the manual either. Steam forum said it's under steam apps and I can't find that. Making me a bit crazy. A little help would be greatly appreciated.
443  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: A Plea for Another Elder Scrolls on: November 09, 2010, 04:55:32 PM
Not completely, but it was better. However, that's a different game so I don't take that as a guarentee that they will get rid of it in the next ES.
444  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: A Plea for Another Elder Scrolls on: November 08, 2010, 05:25:51 PM
Meh. Only if they hire the Nehrim boys to write the quests and ditch the enemies level with you crap.

It is excellent.  No fiddling required either. Simple .exe install.

Yup. It's a bit fiddly. Save often as it likes the occasional ctd. And for god sakes enter tll on the console when in the dark forrest. But besides that it is so sweet. And there is a lot of quest help if you get stuck at Nehrim.com. I give Bethesda tons of credit for the engine and all the systems and the basic artwork. But these German boys just beat their brains in when it comes to quest writting. I've already had four side quests that I consider quite epic.
446  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: God help me I'm restarting Oblivion on: October 25, 2010, 05:42:44 PM
Stop! Immediatley! Have you heard/tried the complete mod Nehrim? So much better than oblivion ever dreamed of being. All new locals and quests. Enemies do not auto level with you. Trust me, quests are epic. Just about every one. Only draw back is it's entierly in german with English subtitles. I don't care. Yes I played Oblivion and finished all the major quest lines. Still the game was a major disappointment for me. To the extent that I'm going to wait on the next Elder scrolls and if they use the same lammo auto leveling I'm out. This Nehrim game is really something. I've hardly done the main quest line because I keep getting sidetracked by awesome sidequests. it's hard though, especially in the begining. Once you get to the upper teens in level though you can start laying waste. Just no way I can exaggerate how much better I love this game than Oblivion.

I don't get lumping fantasy football in with computer games. None of those sites have much interest for me.

I give Gothic a slight edge over Nehrim, just because the NPC's in Gothic have better personality. However, Nehrim is very, very good. Lot's of people didn't like G3 very much. While I found having to clear out the cities kind of repetitive 2/3 of the way through the game, it's still a Gothic game and enjoyable. I somehow avoided the bugs that plagued many people.

clearing out the cities were what made the game a blast for me.  I loved the orcish bodies piling up around me like cordwood as I found  choke point and annihilated their tyranny.
Yeah Ceekay it was a blast for me as well. At least the first 4-5 times. After that, it was a kinda been there done that. It did not stop me from clearing every city on the map though.

In PBs Gothic games, youd be lucky to get out of the second chapter by 15 hrs. Except Risen, which was a bit shorter. Right now, I am more than happy with Nehrim.
451  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Nehrim-Oblivion total conversion mod on: October 13, 2010, 08:28:02 PM
So far it's been my experience that out side of trainers and shopkeepers,  nobody you have not been sent to directly will talk to you. I guess they didn't want the world to be empty, but it's a bit pointless if they don't say anything. Oh well, nobody's perfect, still love the game.

Aye, its awesome - What sidequests do you refer to? I cant talk to practically anyone since they say I'm an aeterna or whatever they are called

Spoiler for Hiden:
The best one has been the Steel rail mine. I believe you find a note about this around Gilead. If not there are old tracks leading north out of Gilead that lead to the mine. You get a great axe at the end of it. Another quest you get around Sildon saying there is some ruins that contain powerful family heirlooms. Most quests I have found with notes, not talking to people. The quest board out of Gilead has a lot of nice quests as well. "The Butcher" ends with a very tough boss. He kept wasting me until I gave up finished the steel rail quest and got that axe. Went up to Erothin and found a note for a guy looking for adventurers. He wants me to go up north. Can't wait to start up that one. Gilead also want's me to go far east where I haven't been yet. So much cool stuff to do.

The latest patch is out.http://www.sureai.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=87&t=3467   If you have the bug where messages stopped appearing in the upper left corner this fixes it. Man I am loving this mod/game. Leveled up enough to be dangerous. Haven't touched the main quest in a while. Side quests are great little adventures on their own. I got a really great weapon from one of them, had an end boss I could barely scratch in another one-had to run away. Then I got said weapon from the other quest, came back and wasted him. Now I have some side quests sending me off to new areas. Can't wait for work to be over so I can continue. And Razgon, I've finally learned how to use block effectively, it's a great help. To anyone just picking this up: the first couple of hours are the worst part of the game.It gets way better as you go.
454  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Nehrim-Oblivion total conversion mod on: October 09, 2010, 03:41:23 PM
it seems around level 8 I started to hit the sweet spot. Enough into strength and my weapon and I can do some serious damage so I can explore a bit and not get smoked where ever I go. Hitting the board in Gillead trying to level up a bit so i can do a juicy side quest I need to be a certain level for. Great mod, can't believe it's free.

I so want to play this but my history with air sims is that I have trouble learning it all, suck, and then get frustrated and quit. I love blowing crap up with MAV's though...

459  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Nehrim-Oblivion total conversion mod on: October 04, 2010, 03:50:01 PM
Yeah my only gripe with this is how hard it is. SSo yeah I got sent to a city and the forrest I have to go through is for 7-14 and I was a 5 and got up to 6. So if you are walking along and find something cool you can't really investigate because you will die over and over. It has taken me a long time to get that through my pointy head. Further along I have to go to another city-I'm being vauge on purpose-the forrest I go through is rated 14-24. I'm a 7. I died, a lot. So I have resigned myself to just sticking to the main quest for a good while. If this goes like just about every other rpg I have played there will come a tipping point where I can start laying waste most everywhere.
460  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Fallout: New Vegas - now Steam powered! on: October 04, 2010, 03:43:22 PM

462  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Arcania: Gothic 4 - Demo released! on: October 02, 2010, 01:57:35 PM
Razgon i'm glad you thought it was fun and hopefully there are a ton of people who agree with you. I've been playing rpgs for decades and that formula of starting as a weak kitten and winding up all powerfull just never gets old. I'm playing Nehrim, the conversion for Oblivion right now, and while Oblivion looked great back in the day, Arcania looks way better imho. Now a lot of us who love the Gothic series are a bit crestfallen because Gothic does have a lot of very cool things that Arcania doesn't, but hey, that doesn't mean Arcania can't be fun. I want this game to sell really well so they keep getting made.
463  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Lost Horizon on: October 01, 2010, 08:50:15 PM
it does look like a lot of fun. It depends on the puzzles. It says they are logical, but I have heard that before. If it's tear your hair out stuff it would not be fun.

Does most of this "talk your way out of fights" and get XP for certain conversation choices happen a bit into the game? I started PS:T once and got a few hrs in before I got stuck and I don't remember any of that happening.

how is the game? I've never tried it, but always been somewhat interested.

It is possibly the best RPG ever made.  Ever.

I'd have to concur here.

I just have to add a counterpoint here. It seems it gets a lot of people calling it the best thing ever, but I disagree. To me it was more like a video game novel than a video game. There is a LOT of reading and you can actually go 5-8 hours without any action. The story is great, no doubt. But if you like actual gameplay in your games then you might be better off with something else.
5-8 hrs with no action?! Really? Interesting. I see these two divergent views all over the net when it comes to this game. Makes me can't wait to try it and see which side of the fence I wind up on.

This just became okay. I will play Arcania. But I just discovered Nehrim and after that I will Play PS:T which just showed up on GOG. I missed it back in the day. So now I actually have a backlog.
468  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Planescaope Torment NOW ON GOG!!!!!!!1! on: September 28, 2010, 03:58:13 PM
I tried this once and got completely stuck. Can't remember what year it was. I know the game had allready been out for a while. I can't imagine it was before walkthroughs were all over the net. But I remeber a point where I had absolutely no idea of where to go next or what to do next. Very odd. That never happens to me. I just discovered Nehrim so it will be a while. But this is next up. Yay-cheap gaming!
469  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Arcania: Gothic 4 - Demo released! on: September 27, 2010, 03:53:29 PM
Finally got this to run. Had to turn down my sound acceleration. Wow, this is very vanilla. I didn't really expect this to be a Gothic but the demo didn't have much personality at all. It did look great. The lighting is also very nice. fire flickering, shadows, sunrise and sunset, very nice. Combat was simple and easy but the animations were very fluid. I can see where they might have made things easy and linear for the demo but I'm sure all the quests will have those big arrows everywhere on the map telling you where to go. And Will all quest enemies really have exclemation points over their heads? Bleah. The voice acting was also uniformly bad and the witch was embarrasing. Where the demo turns you loose into the "dark forrest" I would have been scared spitless with a Gothic game.  No worries in this game. I guess this is how the masses like it though. i've read on forums where many people who play WoW never read a scrap of text or lore. They just sprint around following the arrows and then kill what ever is at the end of the trail. Sigh....I will still pick up Arcania 4 because I still just love rpgs. Starting with nothing, going through the skill tree and discovering the land. 30+ yrs and that basic formula still works for me. Won't be as fun as Gothic, but for me it will still be fun.
470  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Nehrim-Oblivion total conversion mod on: September 27, 2010, 03:41:40 PM
Sorry if this has been posted but search hasn't turned up anything.http://www.nehrim.de/indexEV.html  These guys have been working on this conversion for 4.5 years. It's out now for free. German with English subtitles. A complete rpg with main quest and side quests. No auto leveling of enemies. Leveling up by repitition has been greatly toned down. Now you get experience by completing quests and can't spend upgrade points until you find a trainer. All new weapons and armor and magic, etc. You can tell Germans did this. Very little hand holding and some insta death lurking around. I just love me some RPG and here is a fully fleshed out game for free. I've been enjoying it so far.G

I'm glad they are going to fix the game. Sounds like it will be quite a few months before I will be playing it, but I will play it eventually.
473  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Elemental: War of Magic on: September 10, 2010, 08:11:48 PM
I'm not worried about the balancing stuff, it's just the poor manual and campaign that doesn't really explain things like it was supposed to that concern me. i'm not that hard to please, but it is rather frustrating when you can't even figure out how to play. I think I will go with something safer. I don't know what yet.
474  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Elemental: War of Magic on: September 10, 2010, 05:55:16 PM

475  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Assassin's creed: Brotherhood on: September 10, 2010, 05:53:35 PM
I hope that's not true but it probably is. I just finished up AC2 and I had it was my game of the year. What a run I have been on. ME2, BS2, AC2 in a row. I loved all three, but Liked AC2 the best. I just had to complete that glyph video.
476  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Arcania: Gothic 4 on: September 07, 2010, 04:08:21 AM
The devs came back since Desslock posted that and said there is some weird bug that is only apparent on certain lines of c2d's, like Desslocks. They are working to fix it by release and the game should run fine on lower cpu specs.

PB is awesome in my book. Although I agree that last boss fight was lame. Then again, I think all boss fights are lame. These guys are as slow as the Stalker guys so I'm sure it will be a while before we see it.
479  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on: August 13, 2010, 08:22:41 PM
Yay and boo both. This is currently my favorite series by a wide margin. However these guys build games at the speed of glaciers and if they are starting with a new engine it will be quite a while before we see this.

I played the first one for well over ten hrs I can tell you that. I have never played a game in as little time as the reviewers suggest is the length of the game. Maybe it depends on how you play.
