Hey Glycerine, thanks for the reply. I guess Canuck just wanted to snark at me. While knowing my way around the computer a bit, I have to admit the DSfix directions had me a bit intimidated, so I'm trying to get along without it. Funny, what I thought was a bit of stuttering was the game trying to show me I was very slow as I was running around with 100 max of my weight-duh. Started a new character-bandit, and things are pretty smooth. I have never, ever touched a controller in my life, so starting now would be very awkward. I seem to be fareing okay with MK although I had to look up a lot of arcane controls. Thanks for the help.

Well be careful what you lust for, I guess. Waited for this to get under $10. People weren't kidding when they said this is hard. Man do I suck. And I am repeating a lot, just without the reloads. But I'm also hooked on the stupid thing and really can't stop playing. I don't think I have ever played a game this relentless. The 30 fps cap is also annoying. Yes I have read up on the fix but it sounds kind of complicated and not without it's own problems. So I set mouse sensitivity to zero and got used to the rest of it. Don't know if I can hang with the whole thing, but I probably will. I let out cheers when I get through some of the nasty parts.

Folks are in town this weekend, so gaming is pretty much out of the picture. Not to mention that I'm in the middle of moving my stuff between apartments. Stairs suck.
Wow-tough weekend for you!

I started FEAR 3 this week, but I'm not having a lot of fun. pretty bland and seems like it's just whack a mole. No save anywhere is really annoying as well. I'm going to fire up Game of Thrones instead. I think that's more in my wheelhouse.

Shaqnews just gave this a terrible review. For basically all the stuff from the first game that he didn't like. I have to say the complaints are valid. The map is frequently not very accurate in terms of paths and quest markers. There are a lot of cheap deaths in the game and you don't dare stand up to mobs. I know the ram guys from the first game drove me crazy for a long time. But if you don't fear the mobs then to me you have no tension at all. Games that are super easy to me are not as fun. While I recognize all the negatives, they didn't keep me from enjoying the game.

While I understand all the negatives listed and admit they are all fairly accurate, I really enjoyed the first game. It looks like Riptide is more of the same. In that case I'm sure I will have a blast playing this as well, as soon as the price drops into my range.

I don't know if a game has ever "scared" me. I'm PC only and have never played the Silent hill game. I liked the good Clive Barker game but it didn't scare me. I've been startled by monster closet stuff back in the day, but not scared. Dead space was creepy. Maybe I'm splitting hairs.

Wife has preconfirmation duties with her Goddaughter this Sat. so I should have lots of free time with Deus Ex HR. Once I became used to all the systems and how the game works, it's a great deal of fun. I'm sure I'll head right to the DLC when I'm done. Only downer is the AI. Usually if you run around the corner to another room in the middle of a firefight they can't follow you.

Deus Ex Human Revolution. Really enjoying this but apparently it's been a long time since I played a difficult game. I'm dying a lot. And trying to find stuff using the map just had me flummoxed in China. But I'm getting the hang of it and having fun in the process.

Wow. I'm actually intimidated to try DS1 and that video didn't help much. It would not be fun to just have to die and reload 100's of times. Still, I'm intrigued enough that when DS1 hits my price point I will get it immediately.

Since I finished Kingdoms of Amalur yesterday it was going to be FEAR 3, but it would hang every time in the opening video. A hard crash that made me reboot the rig. Then trying to verify the file on steam also hung up. So I hit uninstall. Have to try and redownload it to see if my download was corrupted. But decide to change up and am downloading Deus EX Revolution from Steam.

looked awesome to me. Thought it had all the elements. This game could make me break my not paying more than $10 for a game rule.

No wonder I got stuck so near the end. That body of the Many level was just brutal. Had to turn the difficulty down to easy to get the final brain thing down. But at least I finished. Always bugged the crap out of me that I never had. The early creepy levels were some of the finest moments in gaming, imho.

Dishonored...on the third mission and loving everything about the game so far I'm jealous. I have a self imposed limit of $10 for games because I have a great backlog and I know they will all get to that price eventually. But Dishonored along with X-com sorely tempted me. I figure maybe Steam sale this summer, if not, then Christmas. I just saw Mass Effect 3 on sale for 9.99 so I'll get to see the ending that everybody hates.

Oh god am I dying a lot in this! So weak early on. But I'm having a blast as well! Mr. specter is of course more than entitled to do whatever makes him happy and whatever makes him money, but it makes me sad that he went from the likes of this and Deus Ex, to Mickey Mouse, but that's just me.

I'm very excited about this! I played it years ago and it was one of the few games I never finished. This was before walkthroughs were all over the web(or at least I didn't know of them) and I got stuck in a spot low on health and something kept respawning enemies. Don't even remember exactly where it was. I just kept dying over and over and just had to move on. I'm more than up for trying this again.
