Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: Too good to be true? Laptop advice

I'd be reluctant. That hard drive will be a real bottleneck. My laptop isn't even used for gaming and it's hard drive (same speed) drives me crazy. That plus the ATI card in that model has had many reported problems. Where's it been reported? I don't want to buy a lemon...

Just to throw this out there for you I have the 9650 and the battery issues are warranted. It lasts half as long as my storm did. Great phone but the battery life sucks

I'm with jaddison, let me learn how to equip my equipment and swing a weapon before i get slaughtered. I am a EXPERIENCED mmo player. I have played almost every one of them. This one SUCKS. Sorry if that offends you.
I don't even play the game so I'm not offended. I did play the beta though and I didn't find it too difficult to figure out how to kill the goblins. The UI was annoying but I figured out how to equip/use stuff. As to how you survive in a hardcore PvP game, typically you make friends, join a guild. If you must solo, you hide in some corner of the map where you hope a gank squad won't find you. Oh I could kill a goblin or 2 just fine it was the 6 that came from across the town to jump on my back. Like I said, the game needs alot of work if its gonna do any good.

I took 2 quests from an NPC to kill 4 goblins and collect 4 axes. I went out to the area marked on my map where goblins are supposed to be. There was a well-armored player already there, killing every goblin that appeared.
What were you expecting in a hardcore PvP game? An instanced environment where you can do quests at your leisure with no competition or danger? I'm with jaddison, let me learn how to equip my equipment and swing a weapon before i get slaughtered. I am a EXPERIENCED mmo player. I have played almost every one of them. This one SUCKS. I had that problem in the original, but can't test it on the demo cause my wife stole my 2nd monitor. I will try tonight and see if I also have the same issue.

For fuck's sake! SupCom2 requires Steamworks. Yeah yeah, I know that most people have no problem with Steam, best thing since sliced bread, blah blah blah. But some of us don't want Steam and refuse to install it. I'm getting seriously pissed off with companies requiring you to install third-party applications to "enhance" the game.
I don't want Steam, I don't give a shit about achievements, just leave me the hell alone to play the game the way I like. Is that too much to ask?
Out. No sale.
You'd rather it be connected all the time? I wish more games used Steam...

Having alot of experience repairing and replacing them, I agree with Scraper on one point, it is probably the heater core (since that is the the main reason the water isn't getting hot). Depending on the size, and type (gas or electric) a 40 gal hot water heater starts at $250 for electric and around $350 for gas for a good 40 gallon Whirlpool. And 40 gallon is just right for a couple adults and kids. How old is the current one? And unless you just have money to burn, a tankless one isn't worth the cost imho unless space is at a premium. They are pretty easy to install yourself also if you wanted to avoid a repairman.

Advanced task killer free
I vote against using a task manager of any kind (and I have tried ATKF). I have seen no performance boost from using one, and have read plenty of people complain about instability from using task killers. The fact is that Android is based on Linux and can manage your multitasking just fine on its own. (IMO) +1 Well, I have heard the concerns, but after a while, if my Eris starts running kind of sluggishly, I can go in and kill all the running apps and it does seem to help my handset run more smoothly. Guess it depends on the phone. And no it does not turn the phones radio off.

So your looking for a dual core, 15-17" monitor with a dedicated gaming graphics card laptop with a blu-ray player? And your willing to pay a couple hundred for it? Wow, good luck with that...
