I guess need to check and see if there's a thread on here where SilverJon and I can be the only ones to discuss Neverwinter Online, ha ha.

Every time you guys bump that thread I think about logging into NWO and pushing toward 60...

Then I load Civ V again and lose 4 hours.

I feel just the opposite - as a FTP game I might check it out even with a $60 up-front purchase but with a subscription model I have no interest.  I don't have the time or dedication to play a sub-MMO anymore so I'll just skip it until they inevitably go FTP.

This is me.  Well, I'm probably 75% water, 15% coffee, 5% beer and 5% soda.

I usually can't bear to pay $2 when I eat out for a cup of sugary fizz-water.

I can't imagine drinking a soda a day.

Looked into getting an auxiliary jack installed so that I could plug in my ipod, but the only nearby car stereo installer is Best Buy, and I'm not going to let them cut into my dashboard. Apparently car stereo shops are on the way out, too.

I had to replace the factory stereo in my car earlier this year.  I went to Best Buy and I'm very happy with the results.  There's a USB cable that runs behind the dash into my glove box where my 240GB customized iPod lives.   I either listen to my music from the iPod or my daughter tortures me with her music from the back seat via Bluetooth (current fave - One Direction.    saywhat  )

The only time I've put a disc into the stereo since it was installed in January was while the car was parked - I had to test out the DVD functionality at least once.  I"m not sure what the point of playing a movie on a tiny car stereo screen is but at least I know it works....

I thought I was the only one!   Actually I don't kill them they just don't keep accurate time - after a week it'll be off by an hour or more.

I just use my cell phone instead.

What kind of watches are you buying that are off by an hour or more after a WEEK?

And to answer the OP, yes, I wear a watch.

Every watch I've ever owned which implies it's me, not the device.

80% of the time I'm either in front of my PC (with a visible clock in the corner) or in a room with a visible clock.  When I'm not I have a cell phone in my pocket that keeps perfect time.

Nothing compares to the nightmare of using iTunes to manage music.  I love Apple hardware.  It's a shame their software is such shit.

I'm guessing you use a PC? The only people I hear this from are those using iTunes on a PC. Oh, and even on Mac holding up iTunes as the standard for Apple's software is weak- they have MUCH better applications than that.

I have a Mac Mini and a PC and both are terrible. And how is it weak to hold up Apple's default music software, something they've aggressively pushed - and the only application that can reliably interact with their universe of mobile hardware?

I should say getting music on my iDevices is easy - but getting a lot of music transferred over with cover art, even if the cover art is displayed in iTunes, seems nigh impossible.

On my Android I just had to have a JPG in the same folder and the music player would display it.

I would love an Android iPod Classic but there doesn't seem to be any large-capacity MP3 player available other than the Classic.  crybaby

And lest I get labeled as an anti-Apple fanboy - right now I have an iPhone4 (personal), iPhone5 (work), iPod Video (in the car glovebox), iPad3 (mine) and an iPad mini (daughter).  I love Apple hardware.  I just wish it was a wee bit more open

My biggest issue will be the fact that I have my music collection sitting on a Macbook using iTunes and my last experience with using some software to get the music onto an Android device was pretty crappy.

With my Droid Charge adding music meant plugging it into a USB slot and copying the files directly over, as if using a thumb drive.

Maybe other Droids are more difficult?

Yeah I'm way on the other end.  The S3 and S4 are too big.  I'm actually concerned that the iPhone 5 won't be very comfortable when I have to upgrade.

I use a 4 as my personal phone and a 5 as my work phone, so I switch back and forth between the different screen sizes.

I'm still not sold on the larger screen of the 5.  There are times when the extra real estate is kind of convenient and there are times when the screen feels unwieldy.  I kind of wish I could get a 4-sized phone with 4G.

My previous work phone was a Droid Charge which was comically big.   And a complete POS.

Also 2008 Obama explicitly ran on a platform opposing these sorts of abuses.  He doesn't get a "Get Out of Scandal Free" card just because the previous administration abused  power - we put him into office in hopes that he would act differently.

He hasn't.
106  Non-Gaming / Political / Religious Nonsense / Re: Budget cuts lead to assault and rape in Oregon on: June 04, 2013, 08:50:05 PM
The issue with these counties is they mostly relied on the timber industry which is all but dead.

So for years they've relied on handouts from the federal government.  Those handouts were extended several times but finally dried up.

When levies are placed on the ballot to increase property taxes to fund public safety they get voted down despite these counties having some of the lowest tax rates in Oregon.

I'm very sorry for the woman who was attacked but I've got no sympathy for anti-tax zealots who expect a high level of government service but are unwilling to pay the taxes to fund it and expect the federal government (ie everyone else) to pay for it..  Fuck those people.

It was the Office of the Director of National Intelligence that took the words “al Qaeda” and “terrorism” out of Rice’s talking points for those Sept. 16 talk shows. It found also that both the CIA and the FBI approved of these edits, following standard operating procedure. The report states emphatically: “The White House or State Department did not make those changes.” One source told the network’s Margaret Brennan that the controversy over the word choice employed by Rice has come to the intel world as “a bit of a surprise.” Another source said that there were “legitimate intelligence and legal issues to consider, as is almost always the case when explaining classified assessments publicly.”

Obviously there's a huge temptation to turn any incident that could reflect badly on the opposition's government, such as the killing of an ambassador in a terrorist attack, into some kind of scandal. But this attempt is just absurd. The strategy here has been to shout "Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi Benghazi!" until the public begins to think there's something fishy going on with Benghazi, and then move on to targeting administration figures because...Benghazi! I have a 16g iPad1 and I've never regretted not getting 3G.  99% of the time I use it at home on my WiFi network.

I don't store music on the device and don't travel so much that I need more than one or two movies on it at a time so the extra space isn't worth $100 to me.
