You know what I don't like about iOS7?

I can't send iMessages to other iOS users - they get stuck on sending and after a reboot they show as "not sent"

Texts to my android-using girlfriend go through just fine.  Texting works but iMessage doesn't.

I guess the solution is to encourage everyone I know to switch to Android phones.  retard

I'm a big fan of the first Rocksmith but the $60 price tag had me hesitating to get the sequel.  The previews were enough to push me over the edge and pre-order.

Shutting down the government after youve lost at every turn is acting like a petulant child.  Rips to the death attitude shows just how disconnected and selfish this position is.  He would rather see millions of families face unnecessary economic strife, then allow the government the right to put a plan in place that just might benefit millions of people.

The GOP's biggest fear is that Obamacare might actually work.

Yup.  Once Obamacare is implemented the Republicans will be pushing to re-implement recission, to re-introduce lifetime caps, to remove kids up to age 26 from their parents plans and to allow insurance companies to not cover pre-existing conditions.

No matter how unpopular the phrase "Obamacare" polls I can't imagine taking all that away will be any more popular.

I've been holding off on updating mine after reading about a pretty big performance hit.

I did upgrade my iPhone4 and although it's slower than my work-provided 5 it's still usable.

Other new features

Text Timestamps
With iOS 7, you can reveal the timestamp for each and every message. Just grab one of the speech bubbles in a thread and swipe to the left

To get to the level, open the compass app. Though not immediately obvious, there’s a second page to the app; swipe to the left, and you’ll be at Apple’s level.

Russia never would have gotten involved if Obama wasn't threatening to bomb their ally.

I think Obama's "red line" comments were stupid and it certainly looks as if they backed into a solution - but a solution that requires no effort from us that removes chemical weapons from the region seems like a Good Thing to me.

T-Mobile and their special 'web only' deal. Yes I had to buy the phone up front. Yes I can't get any insurance through the plan. But for $30 a month (plus about $3 in taxes) I get 100 minutes (but unlimited wi-fi calling), 'unlimited' (5GB before they slow you down) internet, and unlimited texting. Although the plan is only really useful if you're in a major city that has good coverage on just their towers (or so they say).

So while everyone is paying $80 (what my Sprint bill was after an employee discount) or a lot more (I know my brother pays over $100 with his discount), I'm getting back the cost of the phone in about a year. And then saving oodles of money if I say, keep it for two (most contract durations).

Do you get 4G through T-Mobile?

StraightTalk is $42 a month for unlimited data (with a soft 2 GB cap) and unlimited voice/texts.  I don't get visual voicemail and I can't do MMS texting.  Data access on my iPhone4 is sometimes sketchy so I'm not convinced their 4G coverage will compete with Verizon's.  For ~$100 more over the course of a 2 year contract I'm probably going to switch to Verizon.

My 8GB iPhone4 is worth a $130 Apple gift card.

I'm on AT&T, and one year in on an iPhone 5 and two year contract. My quoted price from Apple is $549. Still too much for this year.

Don't both AT&T and Verizon have new buy earlier than 2 years options now? Each month owned counts towards a lower fee or something?

I don't think that kicks in until one year into the contract and doesn't make much difference until you approach the two year anniversary.

I ran the numbers - if I buy an unlocked 5s for $649 and stay with Straight Talk I pay $1657 over two years.  If I get Verizon's quoted trade-in value for my iPhone4 and share my mom's plan I pay $1770 over two years.  My work phone is a Verizon phone and the coverage is noticeably better than the re-sold AT&T coverage on Straight Talk.

Looks like I'm going with Verizon.

It's SO nice going contract free. And SO unbelievably cheaper in the long run, too.

Which provider do you use?

I've been using StraightTalk for about a year with a CraigsList-purchased iPhone4.   I'm happy with the service but torn between paying the off-contract price for a new phone or sharing my mother's Verizon plan and getting a subsidized 5S.

Having seen some demos of the fingerprint reader it's pretty cool.  I don't use a unlock code because I'm fundamentally lazy but I like the idea of securing my phone but still being able to access it easily.

I'm still torn but I'm leaning back towards the 5s.

I'm terribly unimpressed with the 5S but I'll still upgrade from my 4 eventually.  I'm just not in a huge hurry and nothing announced about the 5S makes me want to get one ASAP.

Actually looking at the specs I may just go with the 5c.  It looks like the only improvements you get with the S are an incrementally faster processor and a slightly better camera.  I think I can sacrifice those for $100.

I think that's assuming a lot, though.  Until the game launches and has been live for awhile it's impossible to know if you're getting more for your subscription fees than you would get in a FTP game.

I feel just the opposite - as a FTP game I might check it out even with a $60 up-front purchase but with a subscription model I have no interest.  I don't have the time or dedication to play a sub-MMO anymore so I'll just skip it until they inevitably go FTP.
