If you are drinking coffee black, sure.  But most of the coffee drinkers I know load up on sugar and cream or go to Starbucks and get some sort of Latte that ain't black by any stretch.  That's my point.  Roll Eyes

A tablespoon of sugar is 14.15 grams, so to get the equivalent of a can of coke you'd have to put in 2.7 tablespoons.

That's really, really a lot.

On the other hand, if this is accurate then you're much better off drinking coke than Starbucks.   eek

It's also easy to take shots at soda while ignoring the gallons of coffee some people consume each day.  Throw in some of the Starbucks varieties and you'd be healthier drinking soda with sugar in it.

Sugar content:

Coke Classic  39 grams
Coffee   0 grams

Starbucks "coffee drinks" are an entirely separate thing.  Those are more like dessert than coffee.

Dear President Bush: We request that you order FDA Commissioner nominee, Andrew Von Eschenbach M.D., to rescind the FDA approval for the artificial sweetener, Aspartame. Its approval was forced through the FDA in 1981, and the USA has had 25 years to observe the incontrovertible medical effects from Aspartame, which derive from its being metabolized as methanol and formaldehyde, and two unessential amino acids, one of which, phenylalanine is neurotoxic lowering the seizure threshold and depleting serotonin and the other aspartic acid, an excitotoxin. - Senator Jerry Ortiz y Pino

If it was so toxic you'd think the effects would have become apparent after 25 years of heavy consumption...

I've only seen Sleepless in Seattle and I consider it one of the worst films I've ever had the misfortune to sit through.

It's ~20 minutes of plot stretched out over an hour and a half.   And it's not even a good 20 minutes.

Isn't preventing identity theft part of the stated motivation for this thing?

Of course we all know the real motivation is so the NSA can follow me as I go from work to home to work to home to work to daycare.

I pity the NSA fool who follows me and my boring-ass life.

The Shawshank Redemption
The Hudsucker Proxy

I think Robbins should get a pass just for the first two films - although there is the "Mission to Mars" factor against him.

Sarandon can burn, and hopefully she'll take all known copies of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" with her.

Can I play?

Joss Whedon - so maybe, finally, someday internet geeks will stop talking about Firefly.  It's over, move on

Julia Roberts - Hopefully there's enough room on the shuttle for her grotesque horse face

Tom, Katie and Suri - Katie hasn' done anything of note in years and if I want to see her boobs I can google.  Tom is overexposed and whacko.  Suri needs to go before she has a chance to further the Cruise line.

Michael Bay  - so very many crappy movies

If Larry Johnson could have just thrown one block against Dallas then Trent Green never would have fumbled before the half and the Chiefs would have won that game, giving them the final playoff spot in the AFC and forcing Pittsburgh to watch the playoffs from home.

40 minutes after I launched the game  it was still trying to generate a world.

The extra cool part is there's no way to stop it and task manager couldn't even kill it.  I wound up having to unplug and pull the battery from my laptop to kill  the damn thing.

My biggest problem with the Xbox 360 version (ok, problems...) are no accelerated clock, and no in game saves or sim to end option.  With a wife/kid playing uninterrupted football doesnt happen smile  Also no way to change the camera angles that I can see.  These probably arent a big deal to alot of folks, but for me their almost a dealbreaker.

Weird - I can save in-game with the PC version.

I hope they don't take that out when they upgrade the PC version to the 'next gen' engine - which probably will happen around Madden09
390  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: How about some GT Madden 07 impressions! on: August 23, 2006, 03:20:54 PM
I bought the PC version last night for $27.00. (no 360 anytime in the near future for me).

It's a lot like last year's Madden, although the new field textures are beautiful and the game seems to run smoother at 1280x1024 on my 3200+/7600GT.

Superstar mode is fun but has some glaring bugs:

-Accelerated clock doesn't work when you aren't on the field.
-It seems very difficult to rack up influence/points as a defensive player.  I only played practice and one quarter of the first preseason game but I was losing points every time the offense gained yards.  Doesn't seem fair

No roster to download yet and the rosters on here are WAY off.

Yeah, the Chiefs still have Holmes and Roaf.

No way in hell I'm updating the rosters.   finger
