If you think an A+ is a range from 88-100, what the hell is an A or an A-?  When/where I went to school the whole range of A's was 90-100 or 92-100, with A+ being reserved for getting a 100% on something.

I'm always a fan of physics puzzle type games, so this is a no brainer.  The fact that it is something I can also share with my niece and nephew is icing on the cake.

On a similar (but totally unrelated) topic, I really enjoyed Blast Miner by the same guy(s) that did Bridge Builder, Gish, etc.  I'd love to see some games like that make it to XBLA.

Yeah, I think once you are past the initial 1-year warranty the service site just craps out on you.  At least that's what it did for me, even when I had the RROD covered under the 3-year warranty.

The ankle grab doesn't bother me (or the hand grab for that matter).  I'm looking forward to its use in the new Indy game, too.

Young Nazis in love!!!

Well the good thing about the Indy game is that there obviously won't be any force pushes throwing guys around like that.  Just some sweet punches to the face.

I think I'll definitely buy Simple Man, mostly because Deftones did a cover of it on their b-sides album and now I've grown to really like the song.

I had this amusing moment when I went by a Moe's Mexican Grill on Friday (I like them but I think Chipotle's ingredients and meats are better quality). One of the women working behind the counter kept looking up at me like she recognized me. It was only when I left that I realized, "Hey, she used to work at Chipotle!"  saywhat My dining world here is truly too small...
That exact thing happened to me, but at QDoba!

Denver and Boulder have an excellent fake Mexican place called Illegal Pete's, and they make potato burritos that are incredible. Also, unlike Chipotle and the like, they mix up the burritos before they wrap them, making them extra delicious. I miss the piss out of that place.

Hmmm, it looks like I'll be going to Boulder for burritos this weekend.  I don't know too many places to eat around here yet and that sounds good.

It's the original game with some added content like some new side quests/areas and stuff.  I enjoyed it and it's probably a little more complete game than the original release but don't expect something completely different.

9540  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Breaking Bad on: January 26, 2008, 05:37:53 PM
I thought it was pretty good, but I'm interested to see where it goes.  It alsmost seems like they were aiming for Showtime or something with the nudity (blurred) and swearing (blanked).  Like a slightly darker version of Weeds, I guess, although it's harder to sympathize/identify with a meth cook.

I caught the first part of it last night before being interrupted and then found out it was also available on Comcast on-demand (in HD even) so I started that up.  Maybe I just wasn't paying as much attention the first time, but it seemed there were little parts in that version that I didn't see when just watching it on AMC.  Like his wife giving him a hand-job in bed after the birthday party.

I see you can also get a wired 360 controller for $18.  Not bad if you just want an extra for your PC or something.

Speaking of cookies, our HR lady was actually baking chocolate-chip cookies in the office yesterday and it made the whole building smell good all day.  It was sooo hard to pass those up, but I did.

My hard part isn't the week, where I'm at work for 10+ hours a day and eating normally, but on the weekends I tend to just eat crap all day long if I'm at home and that tanks me hard.  Pizza, chips, chocolate, whatever.  When I'm bored I easily fall victim to cravings.  I think I need to work 7 days a week or something.

Thanks for setting that up for us, by the way.  I wish more participants used it: It's nice to see everyone at one glance.

I told myself I'd finally get an exercise in tonight...but I'm itching to dig into the new Advance Wars.  I really need a stationary bike or something so I can work up a sweat while gaming.  If someone was smart they'd design a gaming system that goes into standby mode if you stop pedalling fast enough.

They do have those racing games that are hooked up to a bike where basically the faster you pedal the faster you go.

IMDB has it listed as in post-production, so hopefully if that is anything left is was minor voice-over recording or something.

I'm curious why GamingTrend felt that this game deserved to be given a 3-month window for patches and updates before weighing in with a review.  That seems like a really shady thing to do since you don't give other games the same leniency.

By this
White Wireless Controller (plug-n-play kit included)
do you mean it comes with the USB kit for the PC? If so I'm definitely interested in it, to the extent that I'll call dibbs on it now.

The wireless controllers can not use the play-n-charge USB connector to be used on a PC.  You either need a fully wired controller or the MS wireless adapter (basically a USB dongle that acts as the wireless receiver) to use a wireless controller.

Having said that, if kronovan is no longer interested in the white controller w/ charge kit I'll put in my dibs for it.  I still only have one controller and that's a bit of a drag.

I want to try and love the new Burnout, but with all the new changes it will have to be a rental or wait for a big price drop I think.

I did just order Zack and Wiki from Amazon since it dropped to $32 there.
9553  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Looking for a Good B-Rate SciFi Movie like Earth Defence Force. on: January 20, 2008, 01:46:13 AM
You absolutely have to get Them! (1954) if you're looking for something like Earth Defense Force.  It was one of the first giant monster movies (if not the first) and it has giant ants, flamethrowers and lots of pure awesome.  It's easy to see a direct influence for EDF once you've seen this.  It's better than Aliens and Citizen Kane put in a blender.

If you want a more recent movie like Godzilla, I'd go with Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. over Final Wars.  I thought it was a better movie.

I turn mine off when not using it.  The potential of "saving" on the components is easily overcome by the fact that it's turned off for 3/4 of the day.  No need to waste that extra energy as far as I'm concerned.

My feelings exactly.
