Batman & Robin is one of the ultimate movies of all time!

Saints Row 2
Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
Banjo Kazooie Arcade

Dawn of War II [PC]
9244  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Dark Knight Spoilers Discussion Thread! on: July 19, 2008, 04:44:54 PM
Yeah, I agree with those two things as well as what YellowKing said in the other thread about Bale's "Batman voice" getting a bit old.  I understand he's supposed to be disguising his voice but I think it just works better when he doesn't talk as much.

It really sucks that Ledger is dead because I wouldn't have minded seeing the Joker in the next movie.  I would like that, actually.  As it stands I really don't know who they are going to use as the villian in the next movie and didn't see any hints at it unlike the first movie.

They also didn't really tie up the loose strings of that employee who had figured out that Bruce Wayne was Batman.  Unless they figured that after Wayne crashes his car the guy is so thankful he decides not to squeal.

Hmm, couldn't get the image to link.  Here it is attached.  EDIT AGAIN: jeez, that's not working either.  Fine, here's the next random one I got.

9250  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Left 4 Dead - E3 character designs? on: July 17, 2008, 02:06:20 AM
I'm not sure how you can say they look better in terms of textures since three of those new pictures are concept art and the other is a head in a white shirt.
9251  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: E3 08 Coverage Begins! on: July 17, 2008, 01:56:47 AM
I must be one of the few that doesn't really like the new 360 dashboard.  Not that it doesn't look snazzy, but for actual use I much prefer to just see an organized list of everything that's available rather than some silly psuedo 3d Vista-ish bullcrap.  It seems a bit like worthless fluff and I actually just prefer the little mini-dashboard they showed as part of the guide.

Kind of like in some racing games where they make you walk around a virtual garage to find your cars when it's much more efficient to just view and select from a list.  Just make that shit fast to load and efficient to find.  Maybe it's just the programmer in me or something.
9252  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Left 4 Dead - E3 character designs? on: July 17, 2008, 01:36:38 AM
I also much prefer the old ones from what they show.
9253  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Farcry 2 thread on: July 17, 2008, 01:33:18 AM
I will likely get it on 360 if I get it, since that won't have problems running it like I'm sure my PC would.

As with everyone else I disliked the camera controls.  Using that shoulder button to supposedly toggle on right analog to move it didn't work 90% of the time, either.

Certainly not going to be buying it until it hits bargain price.

The *decision* to remove 'unsubscribe' from the account page is sooooo disturbing.  So, they go belly up...and that's a move they choose to take?  When a dead company focuses on a potential money grab, my alert klaxons go off.

I'm guessing it may be less of a money grab and more of a situation where they want to avoid all of the people who panic and cancel before they can announce the full situation (servers continuing through new company or whatever).

For any modern game it could easily be replaced with "Diabloesque".  smile

I don't think the actually fits though. It's not a hack n slash per say. Generally in rogue like games when you die, you die. You start from the beginning and lose everything. Shiren is a recent example of a roguelike.

The masochist thing fits.

Yes, but whenever anybody uses that term referring to a modern game it seems it is just a way to call it a dungeon crawl rpg.  In that sense, Diablo fits just as well if not better, and I'm pretty sure this question spawned form the Diablo cloe PC Games thread.

People just like to pull out the "roguelike" to sound nifty
9264  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Please help with Algebra problem! on: July 14, 2008, 02:39:05 AM
To the power of.  So that's just n squared, etc.

I guess this forum supports superscripts, but I'm just of habit doing that.  n2 + (n - 1)2 ... + 12

To me it looks to be:

I will certainly give the demo a try.  I've said it before, but the camera for this game could make or break it for me.

9270  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PSP] Flatout: Head On on: July 11, 2008, 03:59:35 AM
I'm a big fan of the FlatOut games, but after finding out that this is basically another remake of a remake I decided that I didn't want it that badly.  If they had bothered to make some new tracks and vehicles available I might have gone for it.

I've also never been a bit fan of their driver stunt minigames, mostly for the same reasons you stated.
9271  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Max Payne Trailer on: July 11, 2008, 02:43:59 AM
I agree that it looks like it has potential.  Could be one of the few good game movies.

I'm curious about that birdman aspect, too, though. Hopefully that's from some drug-induced delusion.  Otherwise...wft?

I can't wait to see this!  The company is sponsoring another movie day out (perhaps since Indy wasn't that well received) so I guess next Friday afternoon will be full of awesome.

I must be the only person in the country that knows nothing about this film. I haven't seen anything for it except for posters when I go to the movies, and people in forums saying how excited for it they are.

I've seen previews and I still know pretty much nothing about it.  There is a junkyard robot left on earth to clean stuff up and he leaves.  Then a bunch of stuff happens, apparently.

I don't know, that game looks tremendously shitty.

Yeah, I can see that there are elements that don't look outstanding.  However, considering Volition did a great job with Saints Row's third person gameplay I am psyched to see that combined with 7 years of advancements in physics and destruction.

The best part of the first game was that extra room that was surrounded by rock and you could just blast your own tunnels with explosives.  I always got frustrated because the game kept ran out of available memory to use for destructibles (and therefore quit letting you destroy stuff) when I was getting my tunnel almost back around to the ceiling.  Now imagine being able to bring down full buildngs with that technology.   drool

So you love OOTS, George RR Martin, think Memento was amazing, and hate Serenity?

We must fight.

Yeah, pretty much (althout I wouldn't say I love OOTS, just like it.  And the last GRRM book was much worse than the first couple).  I really like Memento and thought Serenity was mediocre at best.

Well the one negative reviewer thus far seems to be a douche so it's closer to 100. Tongue

It's funny, all the other reviewers have 0-4 comments at their reviews, this guy has 76.  None of them flattering.
