Nah, you're thinking of Anna Friel.  Noted for being one half of the first lesbian snog on British TV.

Now that is something I wouldn't object to seeing.

I had no idea she did an album with M. Ward, who I am also a fan of.  I may have to check that out some time.

Yes, you basically have to watch the video until near the end (about 3:53 as he said) and then there is a shot of Enrique and his girl embracing in the rain, sort of similar to that picture from Hulk.  Because a man and a woman have never embraced in the rain before and the world will now end.

(I still don't have high hopes for this movie, but that's a different topic)

If you like physics-based strategy/action/puzzle-type games, check out Blast Miner.  I had quite a bit of fun with it.

I'm also looking forward to World of Goo, which I can't believe nobody mentioned.  It should be out for PC and Wii later this year, but if you preorder the PC version directly from them you can play Chapter 1 of the game.

Also, I think just going to the IGF website, which I can't believe nobody mentioned.  It should be out for PC and Wii later this year, but if you preorder the PC version directly from them you can play Chapter 1 of the game.

Also, I think just going to the IGF website is a good start for some of the best independant games of the last few years.

I've found that I can survive solo pretty well with the Dark Templar, but I don't get a feeling that the life leeching stuff works as well as I wanted.

Are you guys finding that you have way too many spells/combos/abilities?  As a level 20 Dark Templar I have 6 spells, 12 Combos and 13 Abilities.  There is no way I can keep all of that crap straight as it is and I fear it is only going to get worse the higher level I get.  Between all of that and potions and food/drinks, it's just a lot of crap to manage.

This is what they really look like:

Well, this is the 3 door version:

Personally, after going through the buying process with my brother, who is getting one of these tomorrow, I would very highly recommend them to anyone looking at small cars. These are probably a bit too pricey for the OP, however.

Yeah, I realize what the 3-door looks like, but it is not like the picture Daehawk posted.  The shape and lines are quite different and the bumper and front grill/fog-light thing is different as well.

Let me see if I can confirm the wheels in the US model of the Fit.  I was wondering why the sport cost so much more than the normal fit when all they really added was some trimming.

The Fit comes with 14" wheels and the Fit Sport comes with 15" alloy wheels.

Here are the differences between the Fit and the Fit Sport

- 14" wheels compared to 15" alloy wheels
- 160 watt 4 speaker stereo system compared to a 200 watt 6 speaker stereo system
- Sport has front, side and rear spoilers
- Sport has fog lights
- Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters on Sport models equipped with the 5-speed automatic transmission

The Sport also has a security system with remote entry as well as cruise control.

Nothing too serious and nothing in the last 10 yeras.  Just a couple speeding tickets when I was younger (ah, GTO I miss you) and a couple "Minor in Possession/Consumption" of alcohol charges when I was 18.  Those two were within the same year so I had to go to court for the second one, but I just got a minor fine and a "watch yourself, sonny".

I dunno, the basic fighting looked okay, the characters had more mass and weight than a lot of other similar games, but it didn't seem like there was much else besides ogling well rendered digital women.  Admittedly, they probably mocapped a bunch of women to get those animations to have weight.

Full Spectrum Warrior style shakey cam was in full effect too.

The main reason I'll pass?  Bikini armor, I hate those designs.  There's plenty of ways to make a female character attractive in games without being scantily clad or any way whorish.

speaking of Full Spectrum Warrior, is FSW Ten Hammers bacwards combat?  I been meaning to try that one out.  Anyone have and want to unload it before I go a lookin?

The BC list says yes.
9219  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Time to make Purge happy: upcoming update to Xbox DRM on: May 26, 2008, 07:42:55 PM
Considering that my 360 automatically downloads a ton of XBLA trials that I never try or never intend to buy makes the conversion rate a bit of a bad metric to use in my opinion.

What is the point of delisting those games, why not just make a different category with older/less popular games?  If they are still being hosted on their servers for re-download, there is no fucking point.

If you're talking about the C30, I'm guessing the fact that it starts at $10,000 more than the Fit and gets much worse gas mileage (19/28) probably rules it out.

This game is almost to the point of pushing me to buy a new computer.  My home system is now crapping out with texture corruption and lock-ups (in both Conan and LOTRO) so not being able to play it when I have time is killing me.

If you can be patient it may pay off.  a LOT of the problems are game and programming related and not really equipment.  Unless you have really old stuff.  People with decent rigs are having problems that just shouldn't be happening.

No, my home system is just plain old crap.  It is basically their min-spec with a slower CPU.  Also, I was having texture issues and lockups in LOTRO in the couple weeks before AoC came out, so it's not a Conan technical problem.  I've been using my work computer to play AoC for the most part, but I'm sick of driving in to work on the weekends just to play.

The thing is too that the class balancing and fixing will probably take a back seat to the more pressing tech problems.
I hope they can do some major patching soon. I really do think this game could have some longevity and success.........If they prioritize and get cracking on the fixes.

The people that are fixing technical problems are not going to be the same that are working on class balance and tweaking systems like that.  It's not "one or the other".

I'm pretty damn sure the post office won't ship anything that large (and they certainly won't box it for you), but you should be able to go to some place like the UPS Store and they will pack and ship it for you.  I know DHL also ships lots of oversized things, but having worked for them I would never ship something expensive/breakable with them.

My favorite stories and games always seemed to come from this one hall off the main floor.. I think it was called kentia hall or something close to that spelling. All the big boys were showing off stuff that were sequels of sequels or boring old same old but this hall had the little guys in it . There was always some neat hardware or a new game type / story. They took risks just like everyone once did and made great stuff there. I miss when the industry was younger and fresh instead of the corporate same old it had become.

Yeah, Kentia was often full of goofy, or underfunded, or just non-mainstream stuff.  It wasn't always good stuff, but it was different.
9233  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: id, Activision, Lucas..all leave the ESA on: May 25, 2008, 05:27:04 AM
Yeah, there was obscene amounts of money spent for the spectacle of E3, not to mention weeks of productivity lost preparing special demos that could be shown on the floor, all for a very questionable return on investment.  Joe Average may enjoy getting to see some games months before they come out, but for the most part it doesn't benefit the companies all that much and they would probably be better off with an atmosphere more conducive to business/media.

I find these major companies backing out of the ESA interesting and disturbing.  Obviously E3 has been in a huge downturn, and with Doug Lowenstein gone they aren't doing much to on the political or media fronts either.  I think there will need to be some drastic turn-arounds if they expect the ESA to stay as a central force for the industry, and I just hope it's not too late.

What I am curious about is what these other companies plan to do insted of participate in the ESA.  Hopefully the answer isn't "nothing".
