Can't we all get along?  Won't somebody please think of the children!  [insert picture of Helen Lovejoy here] slywink

I didn't think the video was all that funny, but mostly because it didn't do as great a job of lampooning Sony and/or the PS3 that it could have.

Yeah, I'm in the "looks good to me" camp. Seriously, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and condiments = yum. It does remind me of that Friends episode where Rachel accidentally baked a dessert that was half Shepherd's Pie because the cookbook pages stuck together.

Flight of Fury - one hell of a movie! I didn't even notice it on the list until I stumbled across it at BB, picked it up for free (thanks to BB total access) and watched it last night.
It's a more or less typical Steven Seagal movie, but for a straight to video release, what a great movie. Lots of action, military "good guy" gone bad, a hot lesbian terrorist, professionally produced, you put it all together and you have a good action flick.

It's hard to believe Seagal is in his 50's already, seems like just yesterday I was watching him in Under Siege.

Definitely a recommended rental.

I'm glad you're not on Netflix, because you would be no Friend of mine!  slywink

Steven Seagal straight to video...sheesh!

9206  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Gamespot Drops a 7.8 on Crackdown on: February 24, 2007, 03:00:44 AM
Another small detail that is a huge improvement over GTA for me is the fact that the cars you leave around stay there for a long time.  I jumped a car into the pond near the carnival area and then went around grabbing all the Agility orbs at the carnival and beach and just screwing around for a while.  When I was done with that I jacked a new car and started driving by that pond and my old car was still in there, like 20 minutes later!

I always detested how just turning around would make cars disappear in GTA, even in the PC versions.

Also, is there some easier way to get Driving skill points?  Completing the races don't seem to give jack squat, especially considering they take so damn long and I end up running over civilians which slows down progress in that skill.  I guess the only other thing to do is slowly back up, turn and go forward over and over again trying to run some gang members over.

Crackdown, bitches!  I want to get all of the Achievements, so we'll see how that goes.

And then I'll probably play the "seriously cleaning the apartment" game since my parents are coming next weekend.  Bleah.

I need some more suggestions, so you guys need to read more and give feedback!  slywink

I noticed that if you see one of the car billboards and then target it (left-trigger) it will scroll text that shows you who has the top time on one of the races.  Kind of cool, although I'm sure I will never see my own name on one of those.

9212  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: crackdown downloads already on: February 21, 2007, 03:30:17 AM
Yeah, the email I just got from XBox says "All Crackdown purchases made in North America include an invitation into the Halo 3 multiplayer public beta if purchased before the Halo 3 beta period begins.  Crackdown packages will be specifically marked with a Halo 3 sticker before the beta begins."

To me that pretty much says that all copies purchased before the beta begins will be getting access to beta, but to make sure check for the Halo sticker.
9213  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: DVD Tuesday - 02/20/07 on: February 21, 2007, 03:18:23 AM
I'm adding A Guide to Recognizing your Saints, Man of the Year, Flushed Away and Babel to the queue.

If you have read The Prestige, be prepared to throw away some of your knowledge and assumptions from the book since they were liberal with the changes.  Considering it was the Nolan brothers rewriting it they weren't bad changes, necessarily, but it did change the nature of the story a bit.
9214  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: crackdown downloads already on: February 21, 2007, 02:34:17 AM
Were you guys able to download the new agent Four-Play Pack from the marketplace?  On mine it shows the red cancel/not available icon in the price slot, and I'm thinking it's because my Gold subscription just ended last week.

I can understand them giving Gold members demos and video previews and such ahead of Silver members, but not free content for a game I just freaking payed $60 for!  Dillholes.

EDIT: D'oh, I just noticed on the back of this 48-hour Gold trial included in the game that it "allows access to online multiplayer gaming, but not to other Gold Membership features".  Double Dillholes.

That was a great preview and I liked the "spice" you added.

My only concern with this is the same as it was with their previous expansions and booster packs, namely the fact that it splinters the community which makes it harder to find good games playing the new maps/modes.

I must be in the minority, but I like HD downloads. I have downloaded 5 movies and maybe 8 or 9 TV shows off of XBLM, and I think its great. It's not perfect, has some negatives, but its nice, the quality is excellent, and more HD is always better. Gotta give props to Sony on this one. thumbsup

So long as microsoft has the assinine 24 hour viewing thing in place for rentals I will never, ever do one. Its a decision beyond absurd to me.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I can't think of a single situation where I have started watching a movie and didn't finish it within 24 hours.  As long as you don't start watching it you get the standard rental period.

As for the issue at hand, I really don't care to pay to download movies or TV shows, be they HD or SD.

How did they manage to not make Ghost Rider look bulky when he's in flaming skull form?  I mean, I totally disagree with Cage as a casting choice, but they could have salvaged it by at least making Ghost Rider look like, you know, a biker?

Also, what's with his skull looking perfectly bleached white?  I mean, come on, it's on fire.  Add in a little soot.

I think this movie looks like absolute shit, but as far as I know Ghost Rider was always pretty much normal guy sized (as far as Marvel goes, at least) and his skull has been white.

9236  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Best, and worst, concert you've seen on: February 15, 2007, 03:55:13 AM
I don't think I have a worst concert, but some of the best:

Eels - Every concert is a different band (other than singer/songwriter E) and mood.  Blues rock four-piece, full horn backup, dual guitar garage rock three-piece, mellow string quartet with other multi-instrumentalists...always awesome no matter what.

Tom Waits - I think either you love him or you wouldn't be at one of his concerts.  A great showman.

Rage Against the Machine - um, they rocked.  They are getting back together to headline Coachella this year, I wish I could go.
9237  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Gamespot Drops a 7.8 on Crackdown on: February 15, 2007, 03:28:10 AM
I'm not sure I would call this a most disappointing game of the year.  It's currently sitting at 84% at GameRankings and for me that is certainly an acceptable level.  I never expected this to set the world on fire, I am just looking for a fun game.  From what I played of the demo there is a pretty damn good chance it will be that for me.
9238  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [360] Guitar Hero II on: February 15, 2007, 03:17:10 AM
Maybe, in time.  I haven't actually played either of the other two and I'm not a huge rhythm game fan so I don't know if they would grab me like everyone insists.  Plus, the non-original vocal tracks is a big negative for me.

I don't keep a list, but here's some that come to mind (although I'm sure there are more I'm forgetting):

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (PS1)
