Yeah, tipping bartenders is a bit different than tipping a restaraunt server anyway.  Let's see, you ignore me for every female around and then finally take 10 seconds to pour me a beer...yeah, that's worth an extra dollar on top of the bullshit marked up prices.  Shove it up your ass, Francis.

No, I don't go to bars much.  Tongue

Mostly going to be more career mode in Forza 2 (with maybe a little multiplayer if anyone is on) and then trying out the demos for Tenchu Z and Overlord and possibly even Shadowrun.
9083  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Shadowrun on: June 08, 2007, 01:13:26 PM
With the Windows Live program you can play other PC gamers with the free Silver account, but for other things like cross-platform play, full voice communications and matchmaking you need a Gold Live account.  If you already have one for your XBox you don't have to buy another one.

I don't think this game has anything similar to WoW, other than the fact that they are both somewhat fantasy based.

You can read a couple pages of impressions over in this console thread
9084  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: The Writings on the Wall: Sony & MS are You Paying Attention!? on: June 08, 2007, 01:08:45 PM
Well, with Halo shipping in September I think their best bet may be to keep the price the same for a couple months after that release (and GTA4, etc) and then drop it at Black Friday to pick up MASSIVE DAMAGE!!  slywink
9085  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Overlords on: June 08, 2007, 01:06:11 PM
Well, as TML said in his duplicate thread, the demo is now so you can try it for yourself on PC or 360.

9088  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [WoW] 3-Day banned again! on: June 08, 2007, 01:34:08 AM
So what did you get banned from an RP server for, unbreakable?  Was that in a recent game or something from years ago?

I don't know if it's fair to lump them all RP servers from different games together, either, since Blizzard probably handles things differently than SOE who handles it differently than Origin/EA, etc.

I'm not a big RP type person, and don't really get into that sort of stuff or have lots of experience with different MMO RP servers/realms.  The one thing that appealed to me about the WOW RP server was that you lost all of the out-of-game talk about the latest episode of American Idol, or who just did what to your mom and all that crap.
9089  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: LEGO MMO accounced! on: June 08, 2007, 01:28:04 AM
I know this is the official announcement, but didn't we hear about this a few months back?  I know NetDevil had commented on it previously and was hiring for the project.

I can see some real potential in this one.  Hopefully they also put in some of the humor that Traveller's Tales have put into the other LEGO games.  That added some good character.
9090  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Re: [Vista] System stable... for now. on: June 08, 2007, 01:22:41 AM
I don't mean to be rude, but for what reason did you install Vista?  I can't honestly think of a single reason I would upgrade yet, especially given the lack of solid drivers and all of the problems I've heard about.  I guess if you like wasting system resources on a uselessly shiny interface it might be interesting for a day or two.
9091  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: the big news was .....pac-man mazes[XBLA] on: June 08, 2007, 01:01:44 AM
The problem with that stick issue is that not many people want to pay $40+ to play $5-10 games.  At least no one I know does.
9092  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Hitler's Console Gets Banned (Video) on: June 08, 2007, 12:51:32 AM
But it doesn't make any sense once he says that "All I'm left with now is my shitty N64".  He can still play all of his 360 games, just not online.  Needs a re-write.
9093  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Car porn (Forza 2) on: June 07, 2007, 02:06:31 PM
Starshifter, I predict that by next week you will be bored of Forza and wondering what the fuss was about.  I can't see spending $200 on something that you aren't even really interested in.  Hell, I really like cars and racing games and I had to convince myself just to get the game itself.
9094  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: [WoW] 3-Day banned again! on: June 07, 2007, 12:58:36 PM
I played on a WOW RP server for a while and it was actually pretty pleasant.  I eventually went back to my characters on the PVP server because that's where my friends and guild were and I wanted to play with them.

I'm not saying that RP servers can't be full of uptight asshats, but as long as you're not being an out of character goof-turd I didn't see anybody having issues with anyone else on there.

I'm not a fan of episodic downloads, especially for something like this which wasn't really designed for it  Plus, multi-Gig episodic downloads on a system with a pretty limited hard drive space is not a good idea to me.  But what do I know.

I didn't get that either.  Even after reading their official site.

I always thought that 1nsane deserved more attention.  It was a PC offroad racing game with all sorts of super fun multiplayer modes like capture the flag, king of the hill and gate rally that I haven't seen adapted in other racing games.  It also had everything from ATVs to rally cars and trophy trucks that had real-time deformation and a random map generator.

While they usually don't get fantastic reviews, I'm an absolute sucker for the Tenchu games.   Tenchu Z is my most anticipated game of the summer.

I do stay far, far away from the handheld versions, though.

I'd have to agree.  Despite it's recurring problems, I really like the Tenchu series.  I remember that the first Tenchu came out like a month before Metal Gear Solid and everyone was all hot for MGS but Tenchu was getting no love.
9103  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: I will complete __________ by the end of the summer on: June 06, 2007, 12:53:46 PM
Hmm, Forza 2 and DiRT aren't really much for being "complete" so maybe I will say Tenchu Z (assuming I buy it next week...which I will because I'm a sucker).

If you want to be shamed by others' artistic abilities, check out some of the threads over at the Photo and Video forum.  Particularly this ever lengthening thread.  Some of the cars in there are very amateurish, but others are amazing considering the game hasn't even been out a week.

And talk about a way to waste away time just looking at cars...

I decided that I wanted the unlockable muscle cars so I just went ahead and deleted my saved game and started a North American region career.  I'm doing pretty well with this Cobalt SS so far and have unlocked and won a couple muscle cars already.
9114  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Car porn (Forza 2) on: June 03, 2007, 02:46:31 AM
Well, I broke down and bought this today.  I think it was mostly Lockdown's picture thread that pushed me over the edge.  smile  So far I'm enjoying it more than the demo.

The silly thing is that I'm not much of a multiplayer type guy for games like this.  I'm not very good at sim racers and I'm far too used to being able to nudge the AI cars or take sloppy turns without being chastised by uptight players.  Oh, well.  I'm sure I will have some fun running through the career mode on my own.

One question: I picked Europe as my home region, but I want to get the classic American muscle cars, too.  I know you are supposed to be able to buy any vehicle from all regions, but for something like that is it only really late in the career mode?  It looks like you start unlocking classic cars right away, and it might annoy me to not be able to buy those for a long time.

First let me preface by saying that I liked the DiRT demo a lot more than the Forza2 demo.  However, the description of the multiplayer leaves me cold.  Forza2 has been ridiculously fun online just because of the sense of racing with other people.  Racing against the clock just doesn't seem as exciting.  Are they doing it this way just for the rally races, or for the buggy races too, which had multiple cars on the track in the demo?

Also, the game looks gorgeous and the racing model seems fine, but does anyone know about the "game"?  Will you get to buy cars, upgrade, tweak or anything like that?  I'm leaning towards buying it when it comes out, but I'm playing a lot of Forza2.

I just got my copy of OXM that has the review of Dirt (9.0) and they said that the multiplayer for this version is limited to the 100-person time trials for rally and hill climb events.  Codemasters hopes to get full competitive online into the next version, apparently.

They say that the career mode is a pyramid series of races where you earn points to advance and cash to buy new cars.  There is also a rally Championship mode "which lets you set up full-bore rallies replete with between-stage repairs".  I'm sure that neither will be to the depth that Forza is, but this is a different type of game.
