More Lords of the Fallen probably.  And I'm sure a bit of Rocksmith 2014 like usual.

And I want to give a bit more time to Kaiju-a-Go-Go before I write it off entirely.

You can also spend some of those Insight to make it a bit easier again, I think.  Not sure what on, other than ringing the bell.

This game looks pretty cool.  I don't tend to play with a set group of people, though, so I'm not sure how much longevity it would have for me.  Nice that it at least has single player (with bots, I'm assuming?).

Is there any game mode beyond the wave-based horde style mode?

Kaiju-A-Go-Go pc.

Yeah, I was an Indie Go Go backer so I got that as well.  Seemed really shallow for the little bit I played last night, but then it crashed and I quit playing so it might get better.

It's also not an early access game but they have two big "Coming Soon" banners for the second and third monsters, which is a bit off-putting.

Hmm everything seems more difficult since patch.  Monsters and bosses are even doing new moves I didn't see before update.

One of two things, either you had experienced the memory leak bug, or you just got insight to a gameplay altering level, though that only effects normal enemy abilities and not bosses.

Or they also silently changed how much insight it takes to get certain effects.

Well, the difference with the Echo is that it still a limited-availability, invite-only beta device for early adopters.  It has not been fully launched into open availability yet

I imagine they might even be doing smaller production runs and potentially tweaking hardware while they are tracking how it is being used and improving the software side of things.

FWIW, my parents have one and really like it.  They use it for music, to do lists, shopping lists, morning news briefs, etc.  I don't think there is enough functionality for me to want one, but they have been doing regular updates to it so it may get there by the time it's fully released.

I picked up Lords of the Fallen to give that a try and see how it compares to Dark Souls 2 and Bloodborne.

I'm sure I'll play more Rocksmith 2014 and probably another skirmish or two in War for the Overworld.

I spent lots of time with Lords of the Fallen and an hour or two with Rocksmith 2014, but no time for anything else.

11  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] Lords of the Fallen on: April 20, 2015, 06:02:09 AM
I just beat the third boss today, which felt pretty good.

I died several times (again), but not as many as the second boss.  After several deaths I went back and explored the rest of the level and found a thing I had missed that let me get what's-her-name's dagger.  With that thing I destroyed the boss pretty quickly.  Unfortunately I gave it back to her in exchange for a key to the catacombs so now I'm back to the fist weapons I stole off a statue.

Oh, for anybody that was interested in getting this on PS4, it was part of this weekend's PSN Flash Sale for $24.  Not sure how long that lasts.
12  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] Lords of the Fallen on: April 18, 2015, 11:03:49 PM
Also, I think I've now been fighting this boss for the better part of 3 hours.  frown

EDIT: Yes!  Finally!!  That son of a bitch can burn in hell!!!  Whew!

And yet, for some reason this is still more compelling to me than Bloodborne was.   icon_confused
13  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] Lords of the Fallen on: April 18, 2015, 11:03:06 PM
Yeah, thanks.  I guess I'm well aware of how to attack him, but I just don't do enough damage and I take so much damage that it's a looong war of attrition that I'm constantly losing.  It takes so long and I only have 3 health potions so I just can't last long enough to finish the battle.

I've gotten him down to about 1/8 of his health now, but as soon as he spawns the two helpers I'm almost guaranteed to take some damage trying to rush kill them.

I would love to "spam" my gauntlet, but I can only get off one shot before it needs to recharge.  After that first shot I can get a second shot after a 5-10 seconds, but then it's tapped out and takes a long time to recharge enough for another shot.
14  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PC/PS4/XB1] Lords of the Fallen on: April 18, 2015, 09:30:38 PM
I mentioned in the Weekend Playlist thread that I've been playing this on the Xbox One and so far I'm liking it.

I really like the idea of the XP combo multiplier, but I've never been brave enough to stick it out too long (or I ended up dying).

I've reached the second boss (the Commander) now and man am I ever dying a lot.  I've probably been fighting him for an hour and I can barely get him below half way before I die.  And of course once he's past half way he spawns two helpers instead of one, so it just gets harder.  Cripes!    icon_mad

Of course I keep earning more XP from those helpers every time I try, which means each time I die I'm leaving more and more XP behind as well.  That makes it harder to just quit and try to go grind elsewhere as well, even though time-wise it would probably make more sense.

Did you get Lords of the Fallen on the PS4 or the PC?  I've heard the PC version looks and runs a lot better than the console versions, even on a mid-range rig.

-Autistic Angel

I actually went the Xbox One route, heh.  I have all platforms and even though I know the Xbone was the "lesser" of these I got a deal on it and that's where I tend to prefer to play anyway because of it's controller (and I needed something for playing away from my PC at times).

I've played a few hours and so far I have no real problems with it at all.  There have been a few times where framerate drops, but that's mostly in cut scene transitions and hasn't impacted me much.  I know they've patched it significantly since launch

It feels a lot more like Dark Souls 2 than Bloodborne, to me.  I started as the Warrior type but he felt super slow and clunky so I changed to using the Rogue armor and weapons after I found them (you find all the stuff for the other two classes fairly quickly) and I like it even more.

I actually like the game so far.  I enjoyed DS2 and this seems similar to that with the addition of useful tooltips and some friendlier stuff.  You can choose whether using a fire just saves your progress or saves your progress and resets health and potions (and enemies), so you can actually save and quit without resetting your souls combo multiplier.  Oh, yeah, you get more "souls" XP from every enemy the longer you wait to bank them, which is a cool mix on that system.

It's still full of plenty of dying and frustration, though, so don't expect that to be gone or anything.
17  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [movie] Batman vs Superman (Man of Steel 2) on: April 18, 2015, 04:28:11 PM
I dunno, I thought it looked alright.

I don't want the "everything is awesome and I am unstoppable" Superman, because that guy is boring as shit.  If they're taking cues from The Dark Knight Returns then I'm all for it.

Of course, having said that, the fact that they've delayed this from a summer release and have now relegated it to March of 2016 gives me worry.

I don't know, I'm with you, Pug.  I played for a few hours and this game just never grabbed me.  I really wanted to like it, but for whatever reason it never "clicked" for me.  I think I may have to just face facts that this one isn't for me and sell it while it's still worth something.

24  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: War for the Overworld - basically a new Dungeon Keeper on: April 14, 2015, 04:56:47 AM
They put out another patch today (their 21st since launch!) that includes some performance improvements and other fixes.

There is also a lengthy https://wftogame.com/state-of-the-game-13-04-2015/state of the game post[/url] along with a video of what they're working on for the next few weeks.

I'm not sure how their sales are doing but I hope it was successful enough to continue.  They really had the stereotypical development problem of running out of money and shipping a buggy mess as a last resort even though that may have hurt them in the long run.

I really like War for the Overworld but I do miss the random heroes wandering into your dungeon, seems like Skirmish is only against another AI dungeon keeper, no random AI intruders.

How does that price measure up for fast food in your area of Canada?  Seems pretty high to me, but I know US to Canadian exchange isn't 1:1 and even when it is some things are more expensive.

Is the Titan Souls name a play on Dark/Demon's Souls?

Yeah, sort of.  Here's the description from Wikipedia (which kind of makes the game sound horrible, heh):

Quote
Titan Souls is a strategic, open world, 2D, top-down action-adventure, where the player has only one arrow and can only take one hit. The goal is to defeat the 20 giant monsters called the Titans, which can, just like the player, only take one hit but only have one way to be defeated. During the fight, the player has to figure out how the respective boss behaves and by that find a way to defeat that boss. The difficulty is that the single arrow has to be charged to be shot and afterwards has to be retrieved to be reused, each action only able to be done while the player is standing still, making them an easy target for the bosses.

I've only gotten to play a couple hours so far, and it's been ages since I've put in real time with a Dungeon Keeper game, but man does this scratch that itch!  I played a couple Campaign missions but then switched to Skirmish mode since all I really wanted was to keep expanding my dungeon.

I do think the voice acting is a huge element that makes this feel a LOT like Dungeon Keeper, but that's a good thing in my mind.   icon_smile thumbsup

I've never really been into Daredevil, I've never read the comics and didn't care for the older movie and such, but I figure I'll give this a shot at least.  Most of the stuff Netflix does is pretty good, and Marvel has also mostly done good the last several years, so it deserves a chance.
