As for your challenge, you can see signs that are in Spanish, there are some palm trees behind one of the signs but mostly leafy trees, not super affluent but not totally poor and run down, no beach or mountains in sight.  Seems like plenty of things to make an educated guess, at least.  You're not expected to get things exactly. 

By not moving the camera I meant not going further along the road one way or another.  Obviously you have to spin it around where you're located to see stuff.  (or not, if you decide not to )

To me guessing and seeing how close your guess was is half the fun.  If you're just going to start Googling stuff, that just becomes more data mining rather than educated guessing.

And hey, I've had some that ended up halfway around the world from my guess, so it's not like I'm awesome at it.

I'm assuming you also haven't bought a GameStop member card?  (whatever they're called these days)  Getting one of those comes with a free subscription.

They will likely just replace them with season pass "subscriptions" like they have done to much financial success with Battlefield. 

They've hit the $340,000 stretch goal with 14 days to go (including PayPal amounts), I think they will have no problem hitting the $400k Co-op goal soon.

You know, this all makes for a good story, lesson learned, etc.  And in addition to that I've always personally disliked that poster since it doesn't fit the tone or world of Hawken at all, so another reason to get rid of it.

But if you want to look at this situation another way, the sad part is that this article has gotten 20 times the press that any of our actual releases have.  Literally, on Kotaku their article has over 142,000 views, and the article they posted a few weeks back about our last big patch that added a new healing class mech, new map, and other content and fixes had ~6700 views. 

We've been in Open Beta for 6 months, Closed Beta for months before that, and a lot of our previous patches, videos, etc were never covered at all by most of these sites picking up the story. 

That's kind of frustrating when the only connection hundreds of thousands of people have to the game is a stupid poster that isn't even canon.

To be honest, if this streamed any controller-enabled game from my PC to my bed, I would likely buy it day 1 at that price. However, from what I am reading, that is far from the case.

Hmm, apparently Orange County might be the only place they're available right now.  I don't think I want to drive an hour just to try that out, even if I did have time in the mornings.

I think the test footage of the game looks really good for the early state that it is in.  And I really like the idea of bringing back random dungeons.

However, if you don't mind some constructive criticism, I will say that I always feel a little hesitant to back something before you can see actual gameplay.

I also didn't really get is a sense of the size of your team.  It seems like there are some great artists working on the game, but the Kickstarter page only really mentions you as the programmer.  I know I personally like to get at least a little feel for team size and composition before backing a project.

I did last night, and didn't particularly enjoy it.  This is probably just not a game for me, but I could see others liking it.  Care to elaborate on your impressions?

Or you could get a Nexus 4 and not have to worry about weird OEM interfaces and waiting for upgrades.  I know it's terribly old by now, though, having been released 5 months ago. 

Personally, I need a new phone as well after cracking my screen a few weeks ago, but I'm holding out waiting for something that really grabs me.  I've used a Nexus S for the last few years and really liked it, but with an Android tablet as well I'm considering something different for a change, like maybe even a Windows 8 phone.

13/13 here as well, helps to be a chemistry technician as well as a radiation protection technician, I knows me some radioactivity and atom structure along with the composition of air.  I think I would have missed the fracking question if one of the choices had been oil, that's what I thought is was for. 

They do use frakking for oil as well.  I know it's widely used for that in my home state of ND.

I'm not sure you could have a better studio to do Battlefront 3.

Perhaps I am lowering my expectations because i have been let down so many times over the past 8 years with Star Wars Battlefront III(its been cancelled more times than Futurama)

Cabin and Dale and Tucker are truly brilliant takes on the genre.  But if you're not at least passing familiar with the history and tropes, you're not going to get it.

Hmm, I thought Cabin in the Woods was more of a "real" horror film.  Is it along the lines of Tucker and Dale?  I loved that movie despite not being a big fan of horror in general (but of course I know the tropes).

3's time-travel "origin of K" story was clever. Would like to know if the next installment will have Will Smith and Tommy Lee again, or if they're going to pair Josh Brolin with some actor playing a young Will Smith. Both of the original actors are getting a bit long in the tooth for the action aspects. I'm intrigued, at least.

I'm just starting this game. What level of pawns should I be hiring? I'm only about level 8 but someone on my friends list has a level 24 mage.

my first playthrough my rule of thumb was no more than 5 levels higher than my main until it got to the point where I was rolling over everything pretty much on my own, and at that point I just started grabbing random pawns from friends.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I did as well.  And don't forget that other pawns won't level up until you return them, so even while you're leveling up they will be come less powerful relative to your own strength.

I don't think there's any doubt that they will.  They're nearly at $190k after less than 6 days. 

Anyway, I had backed this one despite hesitation over the time to go until they deliver.

I just went into the Console forum and noticed something very odd.  None of the new threads were on the first page and it was filled with things from yesteryear.  The top post had a last post date in 2008, the one below it in 2009, some 2011. 

After going back to the main forum listing and then back into Console Gaming it was back to normal, but I figured I'd mention it in case it is a repeating issue.

I think part of the problem is that almost all games shown at E3 are shown in a barely-working way.  There is tons of smoke and mirrors, throw away work and duct tape holding things together in that crunch to get a demo ready for a trade show with a game that is still in production.  And no producer or media person is going to tell you that the feature they are touting hasn't even been started yet, or that the level they're showing off was specially made for that scripted demo, or the million other things that still need to be done before the game ships.

Differentiating that "normal" process from what Gearbox/Sega did is going to be problematic and potentially have a huge impact on the industry.

This game was the only reason I saw to buy a PS4 at launch. Didnt know it was coming out on every platform. Now I see no reason not to wait for a ps4.

Well, with this coming out November 19th, and I'm assuming the new consoles will hit around then as well if they want to get in on the Black Friday sales madness, you probably won't have to wait for a PS4 much, if at all.
