1  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [Will U] Zelda: Twilight Princess remake on: February 12, 2016, 05:40:33 PM
I never actually played Twilight Princess the first time around so I'm kind of excited for this as well.  It should be a good way to play through it at least.

I preordered the version with the Amiibo on Amazon...I'm not big on Amiibo but figure the extra area in the game is maybe worthwhile.  Plus with the Prime discount it's cheaper than the digital version anyway.

Did anybody end up getting Dying Light: The Following?  I'm really interested in it but just still have too much on my plate right now to get into it.

Well, I'm still trying to finish Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on PC.  60-some hours in and I still have a ways to go.  Too much wandering around and exploring for me.

I also started Gravity Rush Remastered the other night and that seems neat.  I like just exploring cities so all the gems to collect mixed with their mechanics means I can spend a lot of time just puttering around.

EngineNo9 if you still have Farcry 3 Blood dragon I would love to add it to my uplay library. Have farcry 3 but never got around to getting blooddragon.

It's yours!  PM sent.

Also, if you digitally preorder the game for Xbox One, you get a free PC version as well.  I'm assuming since they're both digital and tied to your Xbox/MS account there's no way to sell one or the other copy.

Wasn't that originally just known as Hardcore or something?  I know they put out footage before of the fights in that cement atrium type area.

Yeah, I'd agree with the others.  If you're going on aesthetics alone at this point I'd probably pick the first one.

Did anybody bother to look at the Official Design Works book that's included with the PC version?  It's actually a really cool and thorough 313 page art book.  Lots of paintings and renderings and concept art with some commentary alongside it.

The only problem is that it's a giant PDF and viewing those things just chugs regardless of PC specs.   disgust

Wow, I had no idea the art book was this incredible. But yeah, I have a decent system and its painful to to browse through frown

For what it's worth, I normally use Foxit Reader but after doing some research just switched to Sumatra PDF since it is known as the fastest and most stripped down PDF reader.  It is barebones on features, but makes reading this document much faster.  You can still view side-by-side pages by using the menu up top for View->Facing.

Far Cry 3 (Uplay only, not Steam)

Also adding Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Uplay key.

For anyone interested in more info behind the development, they just released this GDC 2013 Behind the Scenes video that has some great info and internal videos.

On technical aspect I found especially interesting is that they used the the 360 and PS3 system leaderboards for storing all Pawn data, so that Capcom didn't have to run any servers themselves!

17  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Xbox One Discussion on: February 09, 2016, 02:15:39 AM
Well, hard to know you exact tastes, but here's a wide swath of good games.

Dead Rising 3 was a great launch game if you haven't picked it up on PC.  Sunset Overdrive was another really fun exclusive open world game.

If you like driving games at all I'd suggest Forza Horizon 2, Forza 6.  There was also Forza 5, but really why go backwards, heh.  I also thought that The Crew became a really fun open world racing game after all their updates.

You can get Halo 5 or the Master Chief Collection for your FPS needs.  Also Titanfall if you didn't get it on PC.

Rise of the Tomb Raider just released last holiday to great reception, and the previous Tomb Raider is probably cheap if you never played it.

Rare Replay is a great cheap way to get a ton of fun older games, some of which are classics.

Killer Instinct is a free-to-play fighting game that's apparently really cool if you're into combo fighters (I suck at them).

For cross-platform games there's Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid V, GTA V, Batman, Just Cause 3, Mad Max, Shadow of Mordor, Rainbow Six Siege, Star Wars Battlefront, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Dying Light, Diablo 3, and probably way more I can't remember.

You can also go one step further for Pirates or Ninjas,
and then another to Cards Games or Fighting,
then Investigate or Run,
then Sports or Spooky,
then Guns Blazingn and Sneak Around,
then Jump Across or Ride Dragon,
and on and on...?
21  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: DOOM on: February 05, 2016, 05:33:33 PM
I'm really curious if this game will be able to remain interesting over a long period of time.  Watching all of those kill animations gets annoying just watching people play it, I can't imagine having to wait for the same thing to play out for the 50th time.

It also feels a bit like this is just gore porn and maybe not what I want out of a Doom game.

I don't think any of the injuries are life threatening but still some people might not like to see it.

What I can't grasp is why someone would even try these things without helmets, pads etc.

Yeah feel free to friend me. It's Crawley on Steam.

I searched for Crawley on Steam and there are a bunch of results that come up, none of which have any links to the GT group or my other friends.  If you're on, feel free to add "Engine Nine" sometime.

I also did the trial for Fornivus and basically just gave all the evidence I found and he was also guilty.  I guess that's fine, but I don't think you get anything for finding him guilty and it locks off being able to access some purchases, which stinks.

Hmm, I think there is something wrong with their "Hide Redeemed Keys" checkbox.  Looking at the list again and several games (including Star Trek) don't show up there now but others like Ace Combat do.  And looking in my Steam list those have both been redeemed a long time ago.   saywhat

Sorry Fafhrd!  I've never tried that Star Trek game and would love to give it to you if I still could.

I'll try to cross-check the list and correct it with ones that I know haven't actually been redeemed.

Star Trek (gift code, need Steam ID/email)
Massive Chalice
Mountain
Broken Age Documentary
Nightsky
Waking Mars
Crayon Physics Deluxe x2

Green Room  I've been hearing about this movie.  Star Patrick Stewart as a Neo-Nazi and his backwoods group against a young Punk Band.

Looks like it could be a good intense movie.  I kind of dislike Anton Yelchin quite a bit, though.  Every time I hear his voice I just...ugh.

All thanks you JZ, but to be fair I think seeing Sebastien Loeb Rally EVO coming out with the original dirt Pike's Peak might have also prompted them to be more competitive with that.  slywink

I can't remember if it's a good thing to take the Duke's mission right away, or if I should continue to explore every corner first.  Anyone know?

This impressions article from Ars Technica kind of puts a damper on my enthusiasm after all the other impressions I've read/heard.

I have been worried that the real world setting of the game kind of eliminates a lot of variety in enemies, bosses, environment, abilities and weapons whereas something like Destiny can obviously create things of all shapes, sizes and function as needed.
