LMAO. It has now been 4 days since I told Blizz my account was hacked. Other than the original automated email reply I have heard nothing from them. However I have received no less than 3 obvious phishing emails in broken English telling me of password changes to my account and suggesting I visit their web site to give them information about my account. Blizz FTL.

I'd bet someone on the inside at Blizz is selling old accounts and figuring most people will never notice or care. I did get 2 emails a while back with one of them saying my account had been banned and telling me I needed to provide all account info including the password to have the account restored. That was clearly phishing but the other might have been a legitimate email from Blizz about a password change to my account. I wasn't playing and never followed up on it. If they say it's my problem that my unused account was hacked then I just won't play WoW again. I probably won't anyway.

Looks like my WoW account has been hacked too. I have not played since May and don't even have WoW on my hard drive but a friend noticed my character log on last night. When he tried whispering my character whoever was using it immediately logged off. I sent an email to Blizz but don't really care if they fix it or not as I don't have any interest in playing again. I checked the Armory and my character has a mining pick for a weapon!? Strange thing was that most of his armor is still there. Maybe the hacker didn't want to be bothered vendoring it all.

IMHO the graphics look dated but serviceable. I'm in the Timorous Deep starter area right now and it does not look anywhere near as nice as say Aion for comparison. Spell effects are well done. Voice overs in the new area are good, but the first thing I do with every game is to turn off the music so I can't comment on that. I have not noticed many changes in the crafting phase other than leveling up is supposed to be faster than a while ago.

Not sure if I will be able to join you guys or not. I downloaded the 14 day trial and installed it. However when I try to run it my computer balks each time. The first time it turned about 3/4 of my screen black while leaving the upper left portion untouched. The second time the whole screen went black then returned but it removed my background and replaced it with a blue background. Both times I checked the Task Manager and no applications were running. So it seems to mess up my screen and then stop running. Bizarre.
Edit - There was an option to include Legends of Norrath so I clicked on that and now it ids doing a large d/l so maybe that will fix the problem.
Edit - No good. After the d/l it briefly switches my res to 1024x768 and then the game stops running and puts me back to my regular res. Anyone else have problems like this with the trial?
Edit - Looks like there are known issues with the trial right now. Downloading a new version of the launcher. Hopefully that one will work.

I remember mentoring from before. A nice feature. And yes I know different alignments can group together but figured if there was going to be a preference I'd go with it. I seem to remember you couldn't get some NPC's to talk to you if you tried to quest in an area with the wrong alignment. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong. How does the guild house help? Can you get to it even if it's in a city with the wrong alignment for your character?

Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit, but yes skystride it was the OO guild. I had a Dwarf Berserker named Gimlet IIRC. Baroque does sound familiar so I'm sure we played together. If I come back I'm undecided whether to create a new account to get the $20 full package with the "free" 60 days or reactivate my old account amd pay to move my character over. Even if I don't play him he might have lots of platinum to twink a new character. Then again I may have given it all away to people in the OO guild!

Interesting idea. One of several reasons I did not renew Aion recently was because many people in my guild outleveled me. Our "leader" power leveled himself to 50 while the next closest members were not even level 40 yet!? I played EQ2 back in mid '06 and early '07 on Oasis. I'd consider joining you guys but it looks like I'd have to create a new account to get the 60 days as part of the $20 deal. Do I need to create a Wanderers account to see the thread there? The link takes me to the login screen.
Edit - according to an EQ2 forum post Antonia Bayle is an RP server. How heavily do you see that being enforced in the guild?

Thanks. I downloaded EL and will play the tutorials and then the demo until time runs out. Maybe I'll look at TC after EL. From what I've read EL is more of a space combat/trader game and TC (like Reunion) is more about empire building. So they are not exactly competitors. Might have to get both eventually...

Ok, I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this issue....
I have a laptop which by Torchlight's standards is more than adequate (Core 2 Duo 2ghz, 4 gigs RAM, nvidia geforce go 7400). I downloaded the demo to check it out, and I got into the first area of the mine. I was in there for about 10-15 minutes, when suddenly my frame rate started dropping. The longer I stayed running around in the area, the lower my frame rate went. When I triggered the stairs to go down to the next level, it took a good 3-5 minutes before it loaded up.
Has anyone ran into this type of issue at all, or do I need to look into my laptop's performance?
FWIW I played all the way through the demo and never had that problem.

I still get some rubber banding and stuttering in Sanctum. My framerate drops from the 30's to the teens there. The rubber banding is more a server issue IMHO. Where you think you are and where the server thinks you are get out of sync and the game suddenly warps you are to where the server wants you. I don't ever get that in the wild any more. Have not been to the Abyss yet. My system meets or exceeds the minimum specs and I play with most settings near the middle. Will turn shadows off too and see if that helps with the framerate.
