Sounds like Pay 2 Win if you have to subscribe to get the better weapons.  I didn't look that close at the details though.  Had a subscription a long time ago but it felt very grindy and did not hold my interest that long.

Easily IMHO.  I actually liked it better based on limited play of both betas.

I must be missing something but this morning I can't resume either of my current games.  Neither appears in the game list no matter how I set the filters.  Anyone else have that problem?

Edit - OK, I see you have to hit the Create Game button to resume a saved game.  Makes no sense to me but it worked.

The reality is that TSW is coming out in a month and the beta looks like it's in a much less finished state than GW2 which doesn't even have a release date yet. ...

That was my first impression as well.

Jersoc, I believe you have to open the skill wheel window and over on the left where you pick the skills there are little squares representing your hotbar slots.  You can click on the square for where you want each skill.

Looks like I did have my inventory window locked somehow.

Honestly, the game was doing nothing for me and I deleted it off my hard drive already.  Glad some of the rest of you are enjoying it.

Running the file checker put me back in windowed mode.  Apparently fullscreen mode was causing my crashes.  So I got back in and opened my inventory window.  Now it won't close!  If I hit "I" a second time the various buttons go away but the grayed out background and grid remain on the screen.  Quitting and restarting did not get rid of it.  Yes, it's beta but it's hard to imagine how this stuff did not get fixed yet.

Played for about an hour.  Now every time I hit the Play Now button the game crashes.

Got a beta key from Gamespot and downloading now.

Beta forums are read only "for a few weeks".  I hope they have the next beta test before the Memorial Day weekend.

When you preorder and register your serial number, is Guild Wars 2 supposed to show up in your game list under the NCSoft account management page? I got an error halfway through the registration process and want to verify I am good to go for this weekend.

I have the client installed and ready to go for beta weekend.  Don't see it on my NCSoft accounts page.

Looks like The Wanderers will be playing on the Sorrow's Furnace server.

Apparently the crush of players has broken the servers.  Nobody is getting in right now.  Guess that is what the stress test is for.

GW2 @ $60 for all that entertainment value is nothing really.

You can be in more than one guild but the advantage of one combined guild would be everyone contributing toward that guilds perks.

They've said there will be approximately one beta weekend per month (the first one being April 20th-22nd), although they haven't said for how many more months the beta is going to last. They've also said pre-purchasing will get you three days of early access when the game does go live...

So they are taking preorders but have not said anything about the launch date or when/how many betas that will get you into if you buy?!  Sounds like selling a pig in a poke to me.  I will preorder at some point but they're going to have cough up some more info first.
