Looks like Bitz is getting the Shanhammer. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=627505
Too bad, he's a good guy who made a dumb play. I'm guessing no more than a game being playoffs, first time offender.
Hey Byron - Next time pull up before your hit, grab his head and slam it into the glass. Then you can just give Shanny some pizza money.

Pretty craptastic effort by the Canucks - looks like they're back to playing the way they were before Daniel got injured. Giving up two 3 -on- 5's in the 1st is just foolish. If they don't put Scheider in net to save them from their follies, they're out.
Ironically enough, goaltending wasn't the issue.

Yikes that was just bad.
It astounds me that the Nucks are able to avoid the diving all season, and game one of the playoffs they are flopping around like fish out of water.
The officiating is just getting laughable in the NHL. The inconsistency (both ways) is a joke. That was a bad hit by Byron Bitz, and he got what he deserved for sure.. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a game or two. The problem I see, is that a guy like Keith gets a 2 min. minor for his elbow on Dank?
Anyways nice game by the Kings, AV needs to stop dicking around with his lines.. especially in the playoffs. I'm glad Luongo had a decent game.

I hope Kesler goes beast mode like we know he's capable of.
Looks like Daniel is sitting tonights game out, hope they are just being cautious.
I've kissed my wife and kids goodbye in advance of tonights game(s). Pitt/Philly followed by my Nucks/Kings. Heaven. I have 4 beers on tap, and I'll be thirsty!

Philly - Pittsburgh is going to be epic.
As I'm currently visiting with the in-laws in Pittsburgh, I made the mistake of wearing a Flyers T-shirt yesterday without even thinking about it. I am apparently now a marked man in Pittstucky. Serves you right! Wearing a Phillthy shirt into Pens country! I know there are a lot of rivalries in the NHL, but I am not sure if there are any two teams who hate each other as much as the Pens and Flyers. Heard a soundbyte from Crosby this morning talking about how the Flyers bring out the worst in him, I would argue that perhaps it brings out the best in him... I predict whoever wins the Flyers/Pens series, gets swept the second round.

Good God are the Oilers ever a terrible team. You'd think their players would have some concern for their jobs and actually play decently in the last game of the season, but they absolutely caved to the Canucks getting outshot 42-17. Honestly, if it wasn't for the stellar play of their goalie Dubnyk they would have lost by far more than 3-zip. The NHL really needs to turn the AHL into a lower linked league like the Premier division and 2nd Division in English Football. That way they could boot teams like the Oilers and Bluejackets down to that league and stop them from whoring all the top prospects. Woo hoo, Hockey Night in Canuckistan just cut to the Kings Vs Sharks game with 10 minutes left. Awesome! Having a D composed of several AHL players and worse than AHL players tends to ruin your chances, no matter how well the rest of your team plays. F-ing Canucks fans... You'd think someone who cheers for a team who's won exactly 0 cups in their entire history and who's entire playoff success consists of 1994 and 2010 would be careful about throwing around terms like 'terrible team'. Yes, the Canucks are decent right now! Congrats. Shut your yap about how bad you may or may not think other teams are if you don't know what you're talking about. Spoken like a true Oilers fan? Let me guess you are from Alberta. They're so cute when they get angry, especially when they bring up how many cups the Oilers have, and the Canucks don't. It actually gets pretty tiresome after a while. Congrats on the dynasty.. now excuse me while I watch my team in the playoffs.. not lining up at the draft. Enjoy! Try not to burn down the city this time. Thank you for continually reinforcing my point.

What a laughfest that was. Dubnyk was the ONLY reason that wasn't 15-0.
I wish Eager was on every team that the Canucks play, that Ape is the gift that just keeps on giving. He and Hordy sure looked cute in the box together. Booth with the dangle was nice.
Can't wait for this first round, the Nucks are going to have to get the PP going again... Quick is just scary.
I have a feeling Lappy has a picture of Doughty in his locker, and he's just staring at it.

Well let me jump on this wagon and take a ride. I purchased an acoustic at the beginning of the year with the intentions of learning to play. Haven't been able to sit down with it much yet though. So I too am looking for any pointers on the best ways to get started and best sites/apps to look into.
I have the same problem. My wife bought me a gorgeous Seagull Acoustic as an engagement gift 2 years ago, and I have yet to really dig in. I can play a bunch of chords, but I find the most difficult thing is that I have no direction when I sit down to play.. and just keep playing the same few chord progressions I know.

Yeah, it looks like it's going to be an 8 game playoff series starting this weekend I'm going to call it the "There Will Be Blood" series. Might even trump a potential Nucks/Hawks Nucks/Bruins series.

The offense may be shit, but the netminders sure are gettin' it done. Yeah sure, but as soon a Luongo has a crappy game -which you just know is going to happen- they'll lose big time on account of them now being able to score. I don't mind 1 goal only games, but there's a difference between a good 1 goal game and a bad one. IMO the Canucks are playing bad 1 goal games right now. Don't be that guy, just enjoy the wins.

I think it's absolutely rediculous that you require a Gold sub for Netflix.
We cancelled cable, and do a lot of Netflix watching. I have it running on 3 TV's, with PS3, Wii and 360.
I don't do anything on the 360 that requires Gold, other than Netflix. When this 360 dies, I will be replacing it with a PS3.. a much more user friendly media streamer.

Canucks/Kings tonight, should be a great game.
Turns out no (thus far anyway), which was really disappointing. This was one of the more unwatchable games of the season, which is a bummer since the Kings/Bruins and Kings/Blues the last few games were really damn fun to watch. Kings/Canucks games have been historically great too. In that this is my last hockey game to watch for a couple of weeks and my high expectations, this sucked. I'm going to blame the officiating for this one since it was really damn atrocious with horrific calls from either side. I didn't end up watching it, but I saw the hilights this morning. Looked like a snoozer but man, that poke check by Quick was unreal to stop the 3 on 1. Canucks seem to be having fun making it tough for those fighting for 8th. Nice to see Manny score. And my god Doughty was bad.

I've watched 'Transformers 3' three times (take that, hep!).
It's like watching a guy repeatedly shoot himself in the leg while screaming "TAKE THAT!" at passerbys. Sadly, I've all but given up on modern horror movies. I spend my time wading through 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's films, it's an endless pool really.
There are quite a few good ones out there. It's just that they seem to be coming from outside America. Yep, the French particularly make some nasty stuff, I'll usually give those a go.
