You would have great performance. It would be comparable, I believe. I have an Athlon 64 3200+ with 1.5 GB of RAM and a 6800, and I got pretty good performance. You should be OK.

I saw some crack reporter say that Tom Brady is on pace for 55 TD passes. Can we stop doing this, please?
Look, after three games, I think we're jumping to conclusions. He'll have great numbers, but he'll taper off at some point. I mean, honestly, the Packers are on pace to finish the season undefeated. Can we get over that ridiculous stat?

My wife works with children, and we've done a lot of research on the subject. Scientifically, they say that up to about 3 years old (ballpark) a child shouldn't watch TV or play video games, and it should be severely limited after that point. The reason is that a child doesn't understand that what's on the TV is not real. There's no disconnect like with an adult. What is happening on TV is happening inside that box, quite literally.
Now, with my children (when I have them, of course), my wife says Absolutely No Video Games until they're, I don't know, 12 or something knowing her. I take a different tack. I say that when you have a time for video games and a time for playing outside, it's ok. If you have enormous amounts of interaction with the child's parents like we plan to do, it's not damaging. I believe that video games teach problem solving skills that they might otherwise miss.
However, absolutely NO games will be allowed with weapons for my children for quite a while. I think Animal Crossing is going to get the most play for quite a while and maybe Wii Sports.

Yeah, I thought it was awesome how it combined elements of all three movies, but gave each movie a little more meaning, meaning that you want to watch them all again. My wife was practically cheering on the Pamela Landy character. She was a great character: strong, without being bitchy, which most actresses/directors don't know how to pull off. Definitely a day one purchase.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Really Great Idea: Mario Casino

I thought of this the other day. Wouldn't "Mario Casino" be a great idea? Think about it: Use the wi-fi to play mario-themed poker, blackjack, or other games versus people from around the world. Compete for coins, and then use those coins to buy stuff for your character, decorate an in-game apartment, or gain special bonuses.
I would play this HARD-CORE.

Yeah, anything marked as a "Games For Windows" label needs two requirements: It has to put an icon in the "My Games" folder, along with some basic information, and it has to support the 360 controller.
I'm telling you, Microsoft is not letting PC gaming go by the wayside. Isn't is ironic that one of the most hated companies could be the savior of the PC gaming hobby?

I was PC gaming since I got a 286-8/12 MHz machine with 640 KB of RAM. I also went to a friend's house occasionally to play on his Apple IIc. I have been upgrading PC's since I put a math co-processor in the 286. The first games I remember purchasing are Arkanoid II and Battle Chess. I have experience and I've been following the industry longer than the original NES has been around. I didn't even get into consoles until the Dreamcast. I'm just messing with you. I agree, shockingly enough, with unbreakable (or is it Kobra? ). If PC gaming was going to die, it would have died already. As it is, it's not going anywhere. Is it getting more niche? Definitely. That's why Microsoft is releasing Vista, along with the Games For Windows platform, to push the industry to stop making cheap non-3d capable computers. In fact, Microsoft is making the PC part of it's two-pronged strategy, along with the 360. So, if the biggest company in computers isn't abandoning the PC, and isn't going to anytime soon, there's a darn good chance that PCs are in it for the long haul.

OK, then prove it. Give me an original non-ported title. Either it will have a small development team, backed by a large publisher, or have hype because it's a sequel or has a specific developer or publisher behind it.
I think you've explained ANY console, PC or otherwise with your blanket statement. Dragon Warrior VIII? GTA4? I mean, you can go down the line, and there's a REASON why people are excited about most games: there's a name behind it, or it's a sequel. A lot of times, there are games that aren't intended to be tremendously popular and just happen to go big (Katamari Damacy). No disrespect to consoles, because I love my PS2, but PCs are still viable. I mean, hell, the installed user base blows away ANY console, doesn't it?

Whoops. Yeah, I was thinking of DK64. The DKC games (on the SNES) were fantastic side-scroller titles. Whew, I almost had to bring out the +2 Sword of Master Debater.

I tried "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" on Hard and got 3 stars. I had never, to that point, done a hard song on GH1 all the way through, and it was my first attempt in GH2.
This is weirding me out.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?
I'm playing through GH2 on Normal, and there is almost NO challenge for me. It's not like I'm a guitar god or anything, but I'll get 95% and still get five stars on songs. I tried Strutter, first time through, never heard the song in my life, and didn't miss ONE NOTE. Literally. Five yellow stars.
Is this a problem others have encountered?

So after chewing on this for a bit, I can't help but feel that this is just in the vein of every other space RPG. You won't really be interacting with the crew, which is what made the TV show/movie cool, and if you are, it would be in a forced/weird way. Get some quests from Kaylee? No thanks.
So, what you have is two forces at war with each other in an old west-y type setting with lasers. I mean, it could be intriguiging, but they would have to do something really different in order to get my attention.

Did you just call me Kobra?
Whoever the hell you are. Honest mistake. I'm checking this from work, and since Kobra is rather ubiquitous, I've just taken to calling whoever I quote from Kobra. It saves me the time of actually paying attention to who's speaking. I'm not helping myself here, am I? Hoo boy.

So, due to the cartoony nature, Serious Sam gets no love? Face it,you've played entire FPS's that had less bullets than 5 minutes in some of the bigger rooms in these games. Yeah, but that game was just one giant firefight. Although, I have to admit, the scene where you approach a hill, hear some screaming, and then see a giant horde of headless suicide bombers running at you, screaming, was quite intense. Also the charging bull-creatures. Those were awesome.

That's just what I found. Your results may vary. I was just having a fantastic time with the game up until the last 2 worlds. Then again, it might just be because I'm cynical. Once you finish the game, let me know what you think. You might have enjoyed it. The last level almost threw me into paroxysms of rage.
