My first level - Piranha Plant Panic (dumb name, but I couldn't think of anything clever) - 24A5-0000-0034-86DA

It's simple and fairly easy, but I think this is the first time I ever actually finished making anything with an editor, so I'm happy with it.

I'll get Skylanders eventually, but I'm already going to spend way too much this year on Disney Infinity and LEGO Dimensions.

I missed this up top, but Castle Crashers Remastered is coming for XB1 on Wednesday, and if you have the original, a gold sub and download the new XB1 version before the 20th, it won't cost you anything.  After that, it will be $5 for previous owners and $15 for anyone going in blind.

I almost forgot about this one.  I've thought about replaying the game many times, but this should be a good excuse to do so.

Some DS footage

I don't understand why they are using the two screens the way they are but I love DQ so I guess I will be optimistic.

The DQ series is big on nostalgia, and having the top screen show 3D graphics while the bottom screen shows the same thing with SNES-era graphics is a neat effect.  I don't think I've ever seen something like it before.  There have been remakes that allow you to toggle between old and new, but I've never seen a game with two different graphical styles displayed at once.  Also, the video shows that you can have battles displayed DQ8-style with your character visibly attacking animated monsters, or SNES-style with static monster and no on-screen characters.

There's a major new feature called Kanai's Cube coming in the next patch.  The cube can extract a legendary power from a legendary item, and you can equip three of these powers.  These are separate from the powers you get from equipping Legendary items.  Also -

There are also several other quality of life functions Kanai’s Cube can perform, such as removing the level requirement from an item, converting gems and crafting materials from one type to another, and converting a set item to a different piece of that set.
100  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Dragon Quest XI Announced on: July 28, 2015, 12:08:25 PM
Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest XI is in development for the rather odd trio of PS4, 3DS, and Nintendo NX.  The PS4 and 3DS games will be different games with the same story, similar to the PS3 and DS versions of Ni No Kuni.  There are few details so far and only a little bit of footage from the game, but it looks beautiful and there seems to be a big focus on exploration.  It's due out in Japan for the DQ series' 30th anniversary next year, and I'm hoping the North American localization isn't far behind.

SE also announced Dragon Quest Builders which is Minecraft with DQ characters.

My first thought was that it was fake as well, but the article doesn't really offer any proof that it isn't real.  It just mentions that the video's uploader is a visual effects artist.

So Many Me is out for XBox One this week and it's free with Games With Gold. Also, the latest Magic The Gathering game is supposed to be out this week for XBox One and Steam.  Rather than the yearly releases, they've switched to an ongoing free to play model, so I'll try it out.

One question I had, all the rebel allies have blue names except one, who's name is in yellow/gold. Any idea what that signifies?  icon_smile The "fish-face" guy (I forget the race -- it's the one who's Lando's co-pilot late in Return of the Jedi  icon_smile) at the 20 second mark has the yellow/gold name, while every other rebel's name is in blue.

I think it means that character is a hero, as opposed to a regular fighter.  At the end of the trailer, Luke's health bar is gold, while normal characters have red health bars, so I'm assuming gold=hero.

Shenmue is a kick starter that Sony distanced themselves from during its introduction.  FF7 is a remake so what is the big deal with that?  Last Guardian seemed nice enough but what do we know about it beyond a bit of gameplay?

The Last Guardian, and especially Shenmue III and the FF7 remake are all E3 legends - every year people hope to see them announced and have always been disappointed.  Having all three announced in one press conference is amazing.  Sony did a terrible job of hyping up the reveals, though.

Also, the Shenmue III kickstarter reached its funding goal of $2 million in under 9 hours  icon_eek

117  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS4] Ratchet and Clank on: June 10, 2015, 09:05:03 PM
This post at the Playstation blog explains that the game is a re-imagining of the original R&C game.

Quote
We started out thinking of Ratchet & Clank on PS4 as a “re-imagining” of the 2002 original, revised to tie in with the deeper version of Ratchet’s origin story (as seen in the film). We envisioned a curated Ratchet & Clank experience that borrowed from the spirit of the classic PS2 games while infusing some of the best elements from the Ratchet & Clank Future games.

We ended up with a new game, with elements based on the original — but now with modern controls, several new planets, new and updated gameplay segments, all-new Clank gameplay, all new boss fights, new flight sequences, and more… all constructed to take advantage of the graphical prowess of PS4. Throw in James Arnold Taylor as Ratchet, and you have a new beginning.

There's also an eight-minute gameplay video here showing off two sections of the game.
