45  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: [PS4] Persona 5 - Feb. 14, 2017 NA release on: June 11, 2016, 12:58:16 PM
The game looks fantastic, but I was hoping they'd use the already lengthy delay to work on the localization and do a simultaneous release.  At least we're not hurting for SMT games, with both Tokyo Mirage Sessions and SMT IV : Apocalypse due out this summer.

Here's a teaser trailer that reveals that (spoiler alert) the show is set in space slywink  It might not mean anything, but it's odd that the trailer says "new crews" instead of "new crew".

Not sure how crazy I am about having to choose between two classes though.  For example, the side story I did last night required me to choose to unlock either the Knight or Ninja class, and whichever one I didn't choose became unavailable (for the rest of the game, I assume).  Frustrating to have to make those sort of decisions blindly, since you don't really have any intel on whether or not the class you choose will be effective or not.

I think the side mission classes are all from the first game, so their usefulness in the first game should be a good indicator of their usefulness in Second.

ya this blows. My kid loves this series and it's really his first games he sunk his teeth into.

Anyone know if they will keep the servers up so people can still upload content and download content?

They're still going to release the Alice In Wonderland and Finding Dory playsets, so I would assume they'll leave the servers up for a while at least.

Sadly, no.  They said they were done with the Witcher series after 3's DLC is all done.  We will have Cyberpunk 2077 to look forward to though.

While Witcher 3 is the end of Geralt's story, they said they might (and probably will) return to the franchise someday.

I think the gamepad is pretty good as a controller, but I think it was a pretty serious misstep for Nintendo.  It increased the cost of the Wii U and most developers just ignored it.  Nintendo needed to lead the way like they did with the Wii's motion controls, but they pretty much ignored the gamepad too.

We'll see what they really have to reveal, but that never seemed like a sensible design to me from technical, cost, ergonomics, or functionality standpoints.

None of that stopped them from making the Wii U gamepad slywink

I thought the next to last episode when Supergirl went "dark" was really good, and there have been a couple others that I thought were decent.  All in all I went from falling asleep to looking forward so I think they are improving.

I'm a few episodes behind, so I'm glad to hear it's improving.  I'd be happy if it just got to the point where I wasn't saying to my TV "There's no way anyone can possibly be this stupid" every five minutes slywink
69  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: [TV] The Flash on: March 23, 2016, 02:36:28 AM
Hopefully, when the writers got together for the Flash/Supergirl crossover, the Flash writers gave the Supergirl writers some tips.  I really want to like Supergirl, but the writing is just so awful, it's hard to keep watching.  Still, the crossover should be fun.

The only item I wish they had was some kind of data pad that you can look at and read more about the stuff you found later sort of like the Destiny grimoire.

I've read that there's an in-game encyclopedia that catalogues everything you discover, but I've never seen any screenshots or video of how detailed it is.

Thanks Eddie.  That would be exactly what Iím looking for.  In all my searching I havenít come across any mention of this.  I will see what I can find out.

This is where I got the information about the in-game encyclopedia.  I don't know where the poster got the information, but the rest of the post is accurate.

78  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: PSN Montly Free Games on: March 03, 2016, 02:45:00 AM
For some reason, Super Stardust HD was replaced with I Am Alive.  I'm sure Sony would dearly love to drop the free games part of PS+ now that it's required for multiplayer, but they can't do that without causing an uproar.  It's almost comical how Sony went from treating PS+ like a jewel in their crown (giving it its own presentation at E3 with surprise bonus games, requiring a 70+ metacritic score) to treating it like something they scraped off the bottom of their shoes.  I'd imagine Vita support is not long for this world.  I'm sure they'll have a month or two of big releases to soften the blow, and then go back to their standard fare.  It's still a good deal, but they really did themselves in by starting off so strong with the Instant Games Collection.
