I picked it up on sale (for the PC) several months after release. I played it all the way through (including DLC) and really enjoyed it. End boss was kind of lame (as others stated) but overall, I thought it was really good.

Wow, I just gave in to the forum effect and created an account and just purchased it. I guess that means I'll have to buy BG1 and Icewind Dale too. I loved those games back in the day...

I have a XBOX 360 HD-DVD player that I hardly used. It has the Microsoft XBOX Remote, Power Supply, USB connector cable and two HD-DVD movies: Serenity and Shrek the Third.
As I recall, you probably need to download some software for the HD-DVD player to have it recognized by the XBOX.
Works great.
I'm on the good guy list.

I always hibernate my laptop and desktop and never have any issues (both Windows 7 x64). I reboot once per week to apply windows updates, patches (especially all the adobe ones), etc.

This game is absolutely fantastic. The quick options to replay missions and the achievements for different difficulty levels are fun and challenging.
^^ This. The game is awesome at 1920x1200. Everything about this game so far is first rate. Damn those Blizzard guys pulled it off again!

Baldurs Gate series was it for me, specifically BG2. The story and depth of the game were incredible. Dragon Age would be second, Mass Effect 2 was excellent as well. Ultima series was outstanding too. Icewin Dale was good (with less depth and more hack-n-slash) Even the old SSI Gold Box games were decent. Seems like they pumped those out every 9-12 months for a while.

I caved in and bought this during the steam sale as well. I was a fan of the original so I'm looking forward to playing this as I just finished ME2 last night. Starflight was another one of my all time favorites so I enjoy spending a lot of time in these rich games.

Still not worth the money IMO. Getting there, but not there yet. Single folks with lots of disposable cash, sure, but for me, I do enough irresponsible spending, that's just too much money for too little benefit.
This. Ditto for me.

Strangely enough, I just purchased today the following for a total system redo:
Cooler Master HAF 932 (on Ron's recommendation) Intel i7-930 Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Cooler Master V8 Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 1600 (XMS3, 8-8-8-24 timing) WD 1TB Caviar Black (to go with my other one)
This is my exact build as well. I just picked up the RAM and power supply this evening. I've been partial to the Samsung Spingpoint F3 drives though over the Western Digitals.

Just finished this over the weekend. Awesome game! One of my top 5 games ever.
I want to do ME2 and then come back to this for another playthough when the expansion is out.
I rolled with two casters for about the 2nd half of the game. Every fight starts with the two casters dishing out a couple of fireballs and me and the thief chick cleaning up the mess. Good times!

I've been playing this since release day (over 100 hours played so far). I have yet to have a single crash or any problem with the game. It has been remarkably stable for me so far considering my machine is about 3.5 years old. Last night I finally got to the end fight so I'm hoping to finish it tonight so I can be ready for ME2 next week. Hopefully, by the time I finish ME2, the expansion will be out and I can do another play through the game with a different character and path.

I loved the movie but just assumed the game would be utter crap. Glad it didn't turn out that way. I'll wait until it goes on sale and pick it up.
Thanks for the mini review.

Anyone know if the expansion was released in the US? I saw an article that said it was released on Steam in November, but I could not find it on Steam.
I thought Sacred 2 was a great game and I'd like the play the expansion. Any thoughts?

Inferno is great. I use Blizzard the same way too. I've been rolling with two casters (Wynne and Morrigan) with my main (Warrior) and Leliana. With the dual wield and some nice daggers Leliana does some major damage. She can take a bit of damage too but I generally try to keep all the mobs aggroed on me.
My standard practice is to nuke (a fireball from each caster) as soon as the screen pauses from a new encounter. After that, we'll clean up what is left over.
