Oh no, they still do charge an arm and a leg and a foot if you don't have an 'unlimited, despite the entire texting system being based on your phone talking to the tower in the first place and therefore it's actually free for you, but we want more money' plan.

I also do FAR more texting than I do talking. By far. Hell - my current plan on T-Mobile is 100 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited (5GB before slowdown) data, for $30 a month.
Wow that's a great deal if you don't talk on the phone too much.

My phone (iPhone 5) also has wi-fi calling. So I don't even use my minutes when I'm at home.

I read over this review a few days back which seem to explain the (many) little issues the game has:  http://kotaku.com/madden-nfl-25-the-kotaku-review-1207512756

They also gave it a 'no' buy rating which frankly is kinda surprising for a series that has gone on for like forever.

Just brainstorming off the top of my head, but imagine a squad based shooter that lets you control your own guy with the controller like any other shooter and give commands to your team with hand signals, rather than having to deal with radial command menus via the controller.  Or imagine having some kind of combat racing game: for the driving component you have a standard steering wheel peripheral with fewer buttons and no analog stick, but the motion sensing gives you an ability to aim and shoot weapons with one hand while keeping the other hand on the wheel.

The first is poor because you're taking a hand off of the controller. Thus, using hand signals is again much slower than just pushing B. Also if you get surprised you're no longer in position to do anything about it as your hands are out of position of the controller.

The second could actually work. Although it won't be quite as easy to drive the car with using say, L1 for gas and L2 for brake. That said, yes, if you had real pedals that wouldn't be an issue anymore. Then it would be kinda fun.

Any other application is, in my mind, always going to be an unnecessary gimmick.
The motion control concept behind Steel Battalion on the Kinect was pretty nifty; it just didn't work at all.  I really like the idea of a hybrid controller + Kinectification.  If they release an Xbone Steel Battalion and the new Kinect can actually pull off what they attempted the first time?  Could be a really tempting.

Except I'd still rather just push B. Or X or Y or whatever button they use.

I don't think so Destructor.....you can hide your hat though icon_lol

Yeesh. How behind the decade. Rift allows you to wear anything you want in any outfit (as long as you're of the item's level to put on). Plate mail on a Mage? Sure. Cloth on the Warrior? Sure. Clothing items out of the cash shop? Sure. Completely and totally naked, yet be fully armored? Sure. You can even swap out weapon looks (although that costs a bit to do).

But hey, what do I know. I mean that would've solved the horrid underwear problem everyone seems to go through at early levels (at least based on all your screenshots).

Odin - I remember when you could farm the Profession Pack due to a bug (of which Cryptic has had MANY and MANY of in NW) where you could drop the mission and have someone else share it to you. So you could go in, do the mission, drop the mission, leave the mission, wait 5 minutes (as that's the instance respawn timer), and do it again. And again and again.

Yeah, I farmed it, well, a lot back when it was still around. Tongue

Most common, yes. But all of Nintendo's DSs are built like tanks. That 'common breaking point' can take a serious beating and still work year after year.

Overall though, I really don't know what to think on this. I guess it's a way to create a device that 'everyone' can play (including parents who are worried about the 3DS features killing their kids). I just know I wouldn't want to use such a thing.

If I was looking at a 10 year life-cycle and I was Microsoft, I think I'd still be feeling pretty good. They've got two things Sony simply doesn't have - Kinect and built-in TV integration.

People who have a Cable TV connection (or whatever) have been steadily dropping, so that feature is getting less and less useful. And when I want to play a game console I want to do so without waving my hands around or whatever that absolutely did not work last generation on the 360, and I don't expect it to work much better this generation.

IMHO the Wii (not WiiU) controller worked (in a few games anyhow). Microsoft and Sony's 'knockoff' of it did not. Let me put my hands on the controller (or keyboard) and let me interact with the game in the best possible way.

Yes I realized it opened up a lot of genres that you couldn't do otherwise. And in every case I ignored said game.

TLDR: I don't expect Kinect 2 to be any better than Kinect as far as games go. And the Cable TV hookup is getting less useful of a feature by the day.

As someone who will only have one console this generation, I'm still perfectly happy with my choice of PS4.
The xbone may have a slight lead in terms of launch games but I'm confident that the PS4 will end up with the best set of exclusives (again). Plus it's $100 cheaper, the hardware is better and I've even been hearing reports from people who spent most of their gaming time with a 360 last gen that the DS4 actually feels better to them than the xbox one controller. 100% satisfied.

And it doesn't have a useless camera accessory included that'll bring around another generation of 'This requires the camera? Ugh. It's crap.' feeling to games like the 360 did with its Kinect line.

I'm quite happy with my PS4 preorder. And I'm trying to stick with one platform this generation, too. That also means no WiiU (and 3DS it seems, as I had it at launch and sold it), so sorry Nintendo. You're just too far behind the times (although I did love my DSL - maybe I'll get the 3DS again at some point).

EDIT: I also don't care about multiplayer much at all. But if I want to try things out, at least I can play F2P games on the PS4 (along with Netflix and everything else) without spending $50 a year.

just noticed that apparently the co-op gameplay may be factored into taking over areas, really wish they hadn't done that and just made co-op separate from regular single player.

In my (limited) time in co-op, that's not true. The co-op missions are just PvP battles (straight up PvP with randomly picked weapons and powers and a 'cat and mouse' chase on the road/air). They give you a bit of cash upon finishing, but don't affect the control of the area.

Wow, not a very good launch overall methinks:

"It's been a bit of a bumpy launch for Disney Infinity so far. Along with the PS3 issues, Wii U players are upset over lack of support for the Classic Controller and Pro Controller the box says both should work while original Wii owners have been disappointed to discover that their version of the game is the only one that does not support local cooperative play in adventure mode."

Also, what's up with the massive discounting (50%) of all the toys and accessories and such on launch day? That's gotta eat into your profits like crazy.

Yeah, I agree. They've had some pretty completely off the wall and horrifying 'news broadcasts' over the years (and on ABC even).

Also, unlike their other ones of this, the footage stayed on the broadcasters instead of the video footage most of the time. I do think that CW realized that they'd gone a bit too far and wanted to limit things.
