Anyone know of any good websites that have detailed skill breakdowns for priests?  I use Thottbot a lot, but honestly there are a lot of holes in it's data (at least for priests).

Thottbot has holes in it? Since when? They're the most informative site I've seen as far as WoW goes, period.

The only holes I've seen are some exact percentages in Talents, and that's it.

http://www.thottbot.com/?ti=Priest - Talents
http://www.thottbot.com/?c=Priest - Skills

As for any other sites... The only one I can think of is Alkazham, but I have no idea how to actually spell it to provide you a link.

I'm personally on Tenris (think that's how it's spelled) on the MST time zone. It's marked as a Low population server, but I've had no problems finding groups or other players in general during the day. And the Auction House has quite a few goods in it (my other way of seeing if it's a dead server or not).

Arrghh, I want to find my perfect class and put lots of time into it, but am having so much trouble.  Her'es what UI want, and maybe you can tell me what would be best.

* A class where I have a good chance of winning a 1 on 1 PvP encounter if I'm smart about it.

* A class that as I level up I get to have cooler looking outfits so I don't look like everyone else.

* A class where I can easily solo most of the time.

* A class that is actually fun to play, has variety, and attacking is not comprised of the same 5 clicks in a row.

*  A class that continues to be rewarding for the time I invest in it.

Well, as I post elsewhere, I love my Night Elf Hunter. The class is extremely solo friendly (you always have a Warrior/Rogue teammate, depending on what you have by your side), and like most classes, has a good chance of winning a PvP battle if you keep watch of your surroundings.

Attacking isn't just the same button presses, at least all the time. You have to carefully manage aggro, as if your pet gets in over its head, you want to do what you can to save it (as it's cheaper on your resources to both get hurt than to rez your pet).

As I said above, you're an extremely solo friendly class (hit 26 just yesterday doing nothing but that), but because of your strengths, you're wanted in groups if you choose to join one. It's entirely up to you.

As for what to do... Well, I remember some relatively recent news where Nintendo went after some little mall kiosks where they were selling pretty much the same thing you saw. Shut them down, sent out a PR piece about it, etc.

So Nintendo will actively try to stop this kind of stuff. Send them a link of the site, at the very least. Give them something to do. smile

Thanx for all the help guys.  I ran by Radio Shack yesterday and they only had 1 receiver and then mobile dock and home dock.  He threw out something like $39.99, $29.99, and $79.99?  Or something.  But they only had 1 receiver unit whereas online at there site there are a million of them?  Is there something I am missing?  Where did you guys get Sirius?  I will go check out fatwallet.com though, thanx for the heads up.

I just hit my local Best Buy to pick up my Sirius set. Yes, they only offer a single base device, but it's also the best one out there (IMHO) of the bunch. It's also the most expensive, but...

If you want to listen to the channels available, go visit http://www.sirius.com and sign up for a 3 days pass thingy. It's also the same site used to subscribers to listen to the music via the internet. Yes, you can't get all the channels online (you get everything but the sports/weather/news/traffic stations), but when you're stuck at work with nothing better to listen to, I can't complain.

Either way, get either Sirius or XM. It's SO much better than radio (as Hair Nation I think puts it - No commercials; not ever), it's not even funny.

So, I'm wondering if any of you out there have gotten yourself into and PvP action on World of Warcraft. While I personally play on a PvE server (Tenris, I think it is, in MST), I ended up with a very quick PvP battle almost accidently.

I was over in the Stonetalon Mountains with my then level 24 Night Elf Hunter. I had just picked up the 'A Gnome's Respite' quest, in which I was going to help stop the deforestation of the surrounding areas.

Little did I realize that I was in technically a contested zone (where both sides travel).

I was looking over the ruined forests, getting myself ready for my next move, when I suddenly notice that the Night Elf guard for the quest giver was being attacked by a Tauren Druid. The Druid (24 as well if I remember right), obviously didn't see me, or else he wouldn't of attacked.

I waited a moment to see if the guard needed help (which she did), and then wasted no time in letting rip with my cat and my arrows. To say that it was a short fight (between myself, my cat, and the guard all whailing on him), was an understatement.

And then I found myself in a panic as I realized that I was in PvP mode for the next five minutes.

During that time I had a Troll Priest run up and give me a second glance, but realized that he wouldn't of had much of a chance in battle. I was more worried in finding the Druid again, but I got away lucky in the end as my PvP wore off.

So, anybody else here done any PvP combat yet? I almost feel like wandering abroad and seeing what else I can get myself into. It was fun.

If your starting city is either Stormwind or Ironforge, to get to the other you have two options available for you right from the getgo:

1) Take the Tram. You can find it either off the Dwarven part of Stormwind (look for a tunnel covered with sparkles and rotating in place) or from the Gnome section of Ironforge (look for the same thing).

2) Take the Gryffin. You'll find it off the Trade District in Stormwind and in the very center of Ironforge. It costs 50c and is a bit longer to take, but you can step away from the keyboard if you need to do something else for a few minutes.

One feature I would *love* is if you could "lock" the toolbars. I've died too many times because I dragged my spell out of the tool bar rather than actually casting it.

Ive done this with spells and attacks...I have to open up my stuff and recreat the hotkey button during a fight..not fun...usually its due to lag.

Cosmos has that feature (at least mine does). In the very lower left corner of the screen (just to the left of the very first power) is a small little box you can check. This locks all spells/abilities in the many taskbars so they can't be moved anymore.

And as far as Cosmos being bloated - well, I only have 1/3 of Cosmos actually enabled. Yes, most of it is just a bloated mess, but you can easily turn it off with the dozens of configuration options.

From what I know (and this is coming from a pure Wing Commander geek here), that the Kilrathi Saga was nothing more than the first three Wing Commander games, modified so they'd run natively under Windows 95 (and thus WinXP). These games (especially 2 and 3) are an utter bitch to get running under XP.

And they're such great games, too. I still own the original box, manual, and schematic posters from the games. Might put them up on my walls one year to show my geekdom. biggrin

What makes no sense is that I have this issue with one of my characters, yet I don't on the other. Same account, same server, same settings (as far as I can figure).

I'm guessing one of Cosmos' options is causing it, but I can't tell. I have that UI and two from another - LootLink and MobHealth. LootLink keeps a running database of all the items you see on other people/yourself (collected by just clicking on a person), and MobHealth attempts to estimate, well, mob's health in numerical format. Both are great addons that I love having around.

I freaking love the hunter class, and especially have gotten extremely attached to my animal companion, Kitana.  She is a Moonstalker Nightsabre cat from the Elven lands.  I take her to the Dwarven Lands alot, where her black coat really stands out.

Oddly enough, I took one of the Dwarven White Cheetah's into the Night Elf lands. Artax's white coat really stands out in the greenery of the Elves. smile

I also get the occasional emotes aimed at my Panda pet I got from my CE edition. All the thing does is run around and sleep (right at my feet when I'm in a life and death situation, mind you), but people seem to love it.

That and the Diablo pet. Can't imagine why...

The hunter is awesome.  With my pet it's like two, two, two characters in one.

I third the hunter comment. Me and Artax (white cheetah wolf from the Dwarven lands, and I'm a Night Elf) rock the lands as the perfect duo. I hit level 20 recently, and I see no signs of stopping my solo campaign on my off time with my set gruop.

WoW is worth every penny and every minute of your time, IMHO. Just don't pick one of the busiest servers (as they're having issues with occasional lag and queues to get into the game itself), and you'll have the best time you've ever had with a MMO.

Falator - if you're reading, I have a question for you.  My NE Hunter just turned 12th, and her leatherworking is up to about 55 or so.  Do you find that as you level up your leatherworking, you are making things that you can actually wear, or does stuff you find/buy outdue what you can make?

In my relatively quiet server (Tenris or something on Mountain), I personally wear just about everything I craft as a Leatherworker (skill of 105 right now and I'm a level 18 Hunter). I've found a few +AGI pieces of clothing as well that I've crafted, which really helps the damage.

And as I've posted before (and on my Daily Wrap), WoW is like crack. If it wasn't for my job, I'd be playing far, far more.

I love my Hunter pet. I love the whole class in general. The pet makes for an amazing tank (using the Cat class with Growl and Claw), and once the pet gets aggro, it takes nearly an act of God (or my aggro drawing arrow) to get it off.

And I do some obscene damage, too.

Now, if I wasn't at work, I'd be playing... Damned job.

Another question for you guys.  I live on the West Coast, so I would normally play on a Pacific Time Zone server.  I see that all of the guilds talking here are on Central time servers.  If I were to create a character there, would I have terrible lag?

All it is is the time zone that the servers are based on, and what clock they run by. In short - most people in that time zone went to that set of servers, so odds are you'll find people playing the same time you do.

Remember - EQ had servers all in one central location, and nobody had problem with their servers as far as lag went.

For reasons unknown, you can create both an Alliance and Horde character on a PvP server. When you think about it, it shouldn't be that way.

And as for a PvP server - from what I know, only in Contested zones (about half the zones out there) can you be instantly jumped and attacked by somebody of the other side.

In the other half, there's a PvP flag of sorts that can be turned on and off based on your actions.

For a Non-PvP server, both sides have to have their flags on in order to attack one another. Otherwise, you can both wave and curse at each other.

Somebody, please yell if I got this all wrong. smile

Plus I've heard that the lucky ones who actually get to play are experiencing a lag fest.

From what I know, the queue is because there are either too many people on the servers, or there are too many people trying to get into that server at the same time.

When I was picking a server, one of the ones with a Low population had a 10 minute (270 people) cue. The very next one up in population let me in right in without delay.

Short of the rare lag bubble in looting (twice in a bit over two hours), I had no problems looting at all.
