This is the very definition of nitpicking and I certainly won't stop playing Skyrim because of it, but I wish there was a mod or dlc that allowed you to start a character who isn't the dragonborn so I could just roam around and quest without all that overhead.
There is AFAIK. Also, you can do that yourself - just once you start the game, never visit the next quest giver. The world will wait, no dragons will invade, etc etc.

so, the Dragonborn DLC hits PC tomorrow and I'm torn. I want to play right away, but I also imagine something this big will break many mods. does Steam Workshop identify mods that aren't up to date and remove them until they are?
No. And I know I won't get this at launch - my mods change way too many core aspects of gameplay. But I'll pick it up eventually. Now to go back to my PC save where I (still) haven't actually finished the game (or gotten anywhere close). And I've only played for 175 hours. Maybe I'll go visit Dawnguard for a while...

I'm extremely nearsighted (I can focus on things that are no more than a foot away from my eyes - everything past that is varying bits of blur), and I remember that every time I got my prescription changed over the years, it takes a day or two for my eyes to get used to seeing the world differently yet again.
What you reported will go away in a day or three at most, TiLT. As said, yes, if it doesn't clear up, head back to your doctor.

I am so tempted to get this game, SilverSword. The few reviews it has are good and I like the screenshots, but it is obviously a one man operation and it's $5, so I'm hesitant. If it were only $2, I'd take the chance. Well, I know this much (as I have this game on watch for a possible price drop) - it does get updated quite often. Shows that there's continual development on it at least.

And our heroes engage in an unorthodox artillery duel, are pursued by aggressive automatons and are waylaid by Imperial entanglements.
3000 xp each.
As you charge the legate and his men, the pursuing golems begin to slow. Will they stop before you and your foes collide into battle or will they join the fray? Only one way to find out...
You forgot to mention the thoughts of making a devious draw from the deck of doom, too. I can't believe it's coming down to this (or it looks like it anyway).

Also keep in mind that if you want more skill points for whatever reason (just short of getting something cool and you want it now before progressing forward), you can redo missions you've already completed (after 24 hours I think of last doing it).
I don't really see the point in redoing missions until you reach the end of the game, since there's way more missions than you need in this game (for once. I wish other MMOs did this). You can do less than half the quests in a zone and still be more than strong enough to proceed to the next area if you want. Repeating missions just produces a grind, unless you really enjoyed that mission. Oh, I totally agree. I love how many missions there are all over the place in TSW. So much of the world seems to be 'optional' that way, as there's just so much to do in each zone.

VERY painful to the publisher. ebook are almost pure profit.
Almost? Storage costs next to nothing, duplication costs next to nothing, transmitting costs next to nothing, and you can easily put up infinite copies anywhere in the world in a matter of seconds. To not release a ebook version the same day a hard cover comes out is just stupid. Period. There will be a scanned copy up on the interwebs somewhere in a day at most if they don't. Always.

I am honestly surprised at the level of "stuff" the previous owner's get when it goes F2P. It seems like most games strip everything out but there doesn't seem to be any real downside to playing if you're a founder.
Same with what they offer for free. Make the players want to subscribe to get bonuses, not force them to do so because you restrict every little thing that they can do beyond a paywall. *coughSWTORcough* Limited UI buttons, seriously?!

Twas the day before next year, and all throughout the land, every game on the 'what are you buying' list, was marked as Cancelled. Okay, so I'm terrible with rhyming. So shoot me. Seriously though, this is one of my sources. Notice how they all say Release Date: Cancelled? So, uh, why are they still in that list? Whoo! Star Trek: The Next Generation Pinball! Took its sweet time getting to the 'free' version of Pinball Arcade (I blame Christmas), but it's working great. Also, you thought The Twilight Zone was a hard table? Oh no. The ball just loves going down the drains (and always did in the real thing, too).

Jett looks over what the others have planned and shakes his head. Actions like these are going to get them all killed. However, they do have a slight advantage, at least for the moment...
He hunkers down, digging deep into his physical reserves (planning on burning a few surges like before to get a short rest), before he picks up one of the Mortars. "Time to figure out how this thing works now that we have them. Anyone else want to take the other?"
(here's to hoping that between Jett's high Strength (to carry the thing), and Intellect (to learn how to use it), that he can properly fire off a shot or two before the incoming mob gets to within more effective range)
