Agree with Crawley, especially about movement. I bought up every port stone I could find but there aren't that many it seems.
Check your bank. Everyone who owns the expansion (so...every PC user) gets access to an Eternal Ferrystone. That gives you an unlimited use 'port. Combine that with the occasional Portcrystals that you can outright carry and place on the ground anywhere in the overworld (I've found three so far), and you can rather easily get to and fro and back again. Or place them in useful places (like a Healing Spring).

The one complaint I have is that the Keyboard/Mouse interface felt rather clunky, mostly because so many things required an Enter press to continue. So instead of being able to click through things (as would be intuitive), you have to reach over to hit Enter. I suppose it is probably customizable but there were enough things that felt odd that I went to controller. Personally I'd have preferred a well fleshed out keyboard/mouse combo for playing on the PC but it's not a big deal.
You can use the Use key (default of E I think) instead of Enter in any place it's needed. Also, I recommend moving Inventory over to Tab so you can get at it a bit easier.
Random tip - if you're playing a spellcaster, while most spells are charging you can hit Shift to go into 'target mode' so you shoot at the target you manually aim at instead of snapping to the nearest mob in range. I think there's a button on controllers, too, but I don't know offhand as I'm M+K only so far.

Anybody know (or remember) what happens to all the stuff you put in a hired pawn's inventory when you send them away? I forgot I had made my extra hires into mules last night when I dismissed them, and I think I lost all that stuff.
It all goes into your bank. Or so it's supposed to, anyway. Go check.
1) Starkiller Base just left a SUN somewhere in the galaxy. Having a sun appear somewhere randomly does Very Bad Things to a system anywhere near where it appears. Just where was the thing destroyed?
2) Why did that one Stormtrooper early on in the movie have an anti-lightsaber weapon on it? I mean, WHY? That's obviously a VERY specialized weapon, and there's like nobody in the entire universe who has one anymore. Suddenly our heroes have Luke's old old Lightsaber (remember, he lost it at the end of SW5 and it's found again? HOW!?) and there's somebody who can properly fight him!
2.5) Then again, if that Stormtrooper had any brains at all, he would've fired his normal blaster a few times, found that our hero couldn't deflect blaster fire (because he's not trained in it), and just kept on firing until said hero stopped moving.
3) There is an ABSOLUTE TON of things that were not explained in this film. Yes, I realize that like 30 years or so have passed, but I'd really love to know what has happened in that time. So much is left unexplained it feels like we're missing an entire prequel movie before this one.
4) This movie really, really copies SW4. I mean just so copies it. And yet...unlike New Star Trek 2 We're Doing Khan Again Because Reasons, it didn't offend me at all. Why is that?
My questions aside, I really enjoyed the film and I SO want to see the sequel start back up Five Minutes Later, and not the usual months or years so between films like usual.

The paywall model is going to flop. This series will either die or move to broadcast after one season. People who grew up with ST -- presumably a good portion of the loyal fanbase -- are my age, and we aren't all down with this newfangled "streaming" thing.
Even if I have a streaming TV by 2017 I'm too cheap to subscribe to something for one show. I'll wait for the dvd release or syndication run, thanks.
Or just pirate it when it comes out.
I completely agree with everything you said though. I'm damn 'old-style' in my age it seems. I have no Twitter, I have no Facebook, I have no Hulu, I have no Netflix, I have no nothing. My TV doesn't even get turned on unless it's to play my gaming consoles.
I bitched about this with my Surface Pro 3 (I own one and I love it), and I'm gonna bitch about this with the Surface 4:
OMGWTFBBQ does Microsoft rip the everfuckinglove you off with their 'upgrades' for their Surface lineup.
It costs $300 dollars, THREE HUNDRED FUCKING DOLLARS, to go from 4GB to 8GB of RAM and to go from a 128GB SSD to a 256GB SSD.
Did you know that 256GB SSD drives BY THEMSELVES cost on average 50 cents per GB, or about $128? And RAM costs next to nothing (seriously, 4GB is like $20-30 or so, if even). So for the AT MOST $100 upgrade (~$64 for the SSD upgrade, ~$40 for the RAM) Microsoft charges you $300 for.
And I thought Apple was bad.
Absolutely do not buy the i7 version. There is absolutely no use for it whatsoever unless you're going to be using say AutoCAD on it or rendering videos constantly. It is a complete and total waste of money, ESPECIALLY for the stupid-insane prices that Microsoft STILL charges.
...15GB with some months over 20GB. I'm floored that you haven't gotten multiple calls from them chewing you out.
You do realize that those 'unlimited' data plans have * marks all over them saying they can and will turn you off for using that excessive amount of data? You are like in the 0.01% usage group there with that practically insane amount of data.
For those who constantly stream music, ever thought of downloading music onto your device beforehand? I use Slacker Radio, and for my...I think $4 a month, I can download a ton of 'stations' to my phone to listen to wherever and whenever I like.
Refresh the music before you leave for work over wifi, never worry about it for the rest of the day (or days depending on how much music you listen to).
Failing that, I think T-Mobile's normal data plans include 'free' streaming (so it does not count towards your data cap) over a bunch of the known music sites. Not sure which ones though.
Anyone else's PC turning on at 3:30 AM? It didn't do that under 8. Doesn't fire up the monitor or anything, just the case lights/drives come on for about 5 minutes. Assuming it's doing some sort of maintenance thing it must have added with 10.
I believe that's the default 'checking for and applying updates' time. I think there's a way to see when exactly it is going to do such a thing.
This would also explain why I wake up some mornings and my laptop isn't 100% charged anymore, when it was when it went into Hibernation.
I upgraded to Win10 on my Surface Pro 3 (waiting to do it on my gaming rig for a bit) and it solved the massive, massive problem I've had since I bought it brand new (wifi driver crashing when coming out of Hibernation requiring user to disable and enable said driver to get it to work again). Now the laptop does what it should do in that instance!
Anyhow - it's working great. Nothing really different from Win8.1, short of no borders on windows anymore. Everything seems to run well and I have no complaints.

I don't really care about it having innovative features, I was referring more to bug fixes and non-disastrous launches. I would hope Unity taught them a lesson about squashing bugs sooner rather than later.
Yeah right. Ubisoft doesn't care in the slightest. All they know is that like Madden, like Call of Duty, like sequel after fucking sequel after fucking sequel, people will buy the latest yearly release IN DROVES.
The game could pop up a text screen that says, "HAHA WE GOT YOUR MONEY AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!" and then crash and people would STILL buy next year's game Day 1.

Yes, vriinc is correct. 4 & 5 could be combined. I only did it once because it took an astronomical amount of space. I had to delete almost everything off my computer to get it to fit.
Almost 40 megabytes. INSANITY.
Oh the memories. So many awesome memories.
Also still have a decently sized poster of the box art of M&M VI on my wall that I won in a 'contest' (basically buy the game, play it for 30 minutes to find a codeword, and send in said word and your registration card - first X people get the poster). Starting to fade a bit though.
M&M IX however...I did not play much of it at all. Didn't like 8 much, and I read the reviews of 9 before buying. Glad I did (or didn't, in the game's case).
What needs to happen is that the businesses that send DMCA notices and other crap like listed above need to actually be responsible for doing so in the first place. There IS a fine for sending a false one...which everybody on the planet (at least those who generally send the claims anyhow) is completely immune to getting hit with.
Only thing I can really say is this - Cricket (and all other carriers that aren't the main 4 in the US) bounces off of one of the other carriers for their cell use (generally either T-Mobile or Sprint depending on the phone, but far from always). So find out which one it is, and then that'll give you a general idea of how their service will be and such.
Nintendo doesn't know what the fuck they're doing anymore.
They've stopped FREE FUCKING ADVERTISING with people making Youtube videos. There's a reason why NOBODY ELSE cares if you make Let's Plays - again, it's free advertising!
Their Amiibos? They're absolute fucking retards with their utter inability to make more of the 'rare' figures. I gave them a pass with their first wave, but THEY FUCKING KNOW BETTER now and they STILL don't give a flying fuck. They could have SO much more money with people buying these little toys that they don't otherwise make at all (like say, action figures and such), but no, they give everybody the middle finger and would rather not make more.
Nintendo nowadays is so out in left field they have no idea what game they're playing anymore. It's really, really sad.
I am a total noob with infinity engine games - is it common to encounter enemies in a map that you are not strong enough to beat and have to return to later?
Totally, yes. Like how you can find a dungeon in the first main town - which can (and totally will) kick your ass if you go into it as soon as you can. By design. PoE doesn't do the 'quest hub' mentality that most RPGs do. So come back later if you feel overwhelmed because odds are you are.
The Binding of Isaac Rebirth has been announced for the 3DS and the announcement only mentions the new 3DS. I really hope this is an oversight, and they're not going to start releasing games only on the new system when they would work on the old models.
Nintendo wants you to 'upgrade' to their newest and best and more confusing name game console.
Imperial investigators are still trying to piece together what happened in last week's horrifying terrorist attack on our largest orbital defense station. Over a million loyal citizens, scientists, and medical staff lost their lives in the grisly attack while the station was being put through training exercises near the Yavin system. Billions more are in mourning, while a number of powerful senators have renewed calls to increase defense spending. Initial reports have confirmed Rebel involvement, and officials are making inquiries about a young insurgent from Tatooine with known ties to religious fundamentalists.
