I'd never had any food give me explosive diarrhea before until I had chips with the fake fat "Olean" I can't believe those things got to market. They were pulled quickly, but still.

Yea, If I dont use my car for a week, something tends to go wrong. Here, every electronic device or machine is in tip top order the instant it gets power...I guess for story reasons, but still...after 15 years things'll rust and break unless they get upkeep... I guess maybe someone thought the helicopters would eventually be used again? Yea, thats the ticket!

I still get netflix disks and thats the only way this would effect me (Im sure netflix will love this..less work, same price). I pay most of my bills on-line, though they'll usually send me paper statements anyway which I dont have an urgent need for.

Congrats! Jumped on this about 3 weeks ago myself. Am using it as a Dvd/blu-ray player (as well as Netflix) and have a few games. Im into pinball, and I like how most pinball games on the Ps3 will let you compare scores with your on-line friends. Will hit you up to add to my friends list.
6  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Worth seeing a Chiropractor? on: May 14, 2012, 05:16:10 PM
Thanks Monkey Finger, yea Im seeing a doctor today actually. My problem started a couple months ago with an aching and sore left arm (mostly below the elbow) that just didnt go away, then it went to my back left shoulder blade (but my arm felt better) then it moved to my left hand and thats when the numbness/tingling in the fingers happened. It kinda jumps around and finding a sleeping position that doesnt hurt (or start aching) is a pain. I dont really have a regular doctor and starting a new one I had to wait about 3 weeks, and then the doctors office screwed up so I had to wait another two, Insurance can be a pain in the ass. Im thinking now I should have gone to the urgent care for just temporary relief. Anyway, It doesnt exactly feel like when an extremety goes to sleep and then wakes up but it is simialar (maybe because normally that sensation goes away quickly). And actually, I thought the buzzing you were talking about might have been in the ear. Shortly before the arm problem I started hearing a constant high pitch sound (on and off) in my right ear (always had some hearing problems with that ear) so I think I have Tinitis, probably unrelated to the pinched nerve. Ill talk to the doctor about this also. I have good days and bad days and in general it seems to be a little better then say, a month ago, so I guess thats something..

Hey Pete Rock/Monkey finger I think Im going through something similar. Pain in the left shoulder sometimes, aching arm (with weakness), sometimes aching hand and middle/Index finger numbness. Sometimes really hard to go to sleep. Anyway, talked to an on-line doctor and he said yea, its probably a pinched or compressed nerve in the shoulder or neck. Going to see a regular doctor soon. Im just kinda wondering what you mean by the "Buzzing"? I think I might know but am not sure. Just curious. Thanks. Started taking Alleve and aspirin every day as well as some exercise (not in great shape) and it has gotten better then it was. Hopefully the doctor can help me some.

Saw it on Hulu, it was alright, kinda like Lost (very) lite. The main problem I have right now is not really caring about most of the characters, the only one they really go into is the one lady who has a kid back home. I'm sure they'll go into more of the characters later, at least I hope. Oh and Lost had an awesome opening Pilot, this one not so much.

Watching the recap show has made me feel kinda bad about all the bitching I've done in this thread. Lost has really been some remarkable TV...no matter how it ends.

I second this motion, I enjoyed the ride, the finale will have to be the biggest let down in history for me to get totally disgusted. Theres been ups and downs, but this is one of the few shows where you have had to think hard sometimes...or re-watch an episode because you missed something. How many times have I heard someone say "This show is making me think so hard my brain is hurting" How many shows have done that?...proabaly not many. Anyways as I've said before, if nothing else I've enjoyed the ride. Looking forward to tonight allot.

The producers promised that the dog (Vincent) would NOT die.  So I'm pretty sure he will reappear in the finale!

He will not just re appear, he will come in surfing on the beach as the new, true and only replacement for Jacob. Here's a promo shot

Hey, didnt the Dog end up with Bernard (the dentist) and his wife (was her name Rose?) when they were flashing through time. I seem to remember the dog was with those two when the other losties met them and they decided they where happy where they were. Correct me if my memory is faulty here.

I live in an apartment building and if you scan for wireless signals you get about 20 of them give or take. The wife bought a new Laptop and at first used wireless allot, but now is connected directly by cable most of the time cause its faster and more reliable. Wireless for my Psp or Nintendo Dsi is fine in the apartment...for the laptop not so much.

Wait...they had the daughter on the phone as she was driving up towards CTU...why didnt they tell her to stop the car and get out before she arrived. It seemed like they had enough time to do that after jack figured it out. And yea...what a coincidence that Star Buck was just about to give the Bail Bondsman the info he wanted when the EMP hit. The Gods did not want Starbuck off the show yet, I guess.

They actually mention this on the re-cap show before the finale. Basically it has to do with having a 'substitute' for something that was on the original flight. Remember when Jack put his fathers shoes on Lockes body (Jack was transporting his dead dads body on the original flight). Hurley was carrring charlies guitar (substitute for charlie), Sayid was being transported again as a criminal...ect. Well, Sun didnt have a substitute for Jin and Ben and the pilot Lepedias (SP?) were not on the original flight so they didnt get transported back. At least this is what they alluded happened on the re-cap show, if I am incorrect in any of this info feel free to correct me.

Interesting but I had hoped it would be more iron-clad.  If Sayid is filling Kate's role then what link did Kate have?  Is she supposed to be Claire because of the Aaron connection?

Yea, they were'nt specific, at least not what I heard. They just mention that it had to do with the connections to the original flight, so I could be off on the specifics.

Best show on Tv in a while, its one of the few where I actually have to think about the "what"s and "whys" of whats going on. This season was on of the best, its gonna suck after the next (final) season...what the hell can take its place? And , yeah... I think Locke is the smoke monster who is generally not a good guy, though it was interesting he needed Ben to kill Jacob, do the rules of the Island prohibit the monster from attacking Jacob? The other man on the Island who wanted to kill Jacob at the beginning, is he somehow related to the smoke monster?

Somebody refresh my memory...why is there an H-bomb on the island in the first place?

Yea, as the last poster stated, they lost it. When the Losties were jumping around in time in one of the jumps they were attacked because the "others" thought they were the army invaders (if you remember the flaming arrows on the beach). From my history lessons I remember that the Bikini islands were obliterarted from atomic bomb testing. So I think it was just random testing on a random Island that went horribly wrong, though seeing how hard it is to find that Island the army must have gotten incredibly lucky. As for why it wouldnt be lethal from the leak some 20 years ago is beyond me unless they found someone who fixed it?

I think someones gonna turn the underground wheel again. Unless the scientist Daniel, who was seen working in the Dharma mines (in the 70's) can figure out another way.

OK, so just wtf was *that* all about?!?! (March 4 episode)

Okay, as I see it, either Locks turning of the wheel or the Oceanic 6's return stopped the uncontrolled time shifting (or both). Unfortunately the people that were left on the Island are now stuck in the 70's(where the time shifting stopped) and have been there for 3 years working with the Dharma people. The final scene is basically from shortly after the end of last episode where Kate/Jack/Hurely get caugt in the last Time shift and are now in the 70's with the other losties (so 3 years have past for the people who left the Island and the people on the Island who time shifted). Now the losties in the past will have to find a way to the present, I'm thinking they'll turn the wheel again, but who knows, its allittle convoluted at this point. As for the people and losties on the crashed plane, I have no clue whats gonna happen with them (though I hope Locke stops trusting Ben, who keeps on trying to kill him).

plus the fact that the Oceanic 6 were said to have been back for 3 years.  I wonder how they're going to handle that since the people that stayed didn't seem to have 3 years pass.

Well, the people who stayed didnt have 3 years pass for them because they have been time shifting so everything is kinda screwy, the people who left have had a normal 3 years pass. But now that the Oceanic 6 are back on the Island everything will get synched up again (between people who left and stayed), at least thats what it looks like. I'm just not sure if the new downed plane is in the same time as Jack/hurely/kate are, I'm assuming they are but then I thought the plane wouldn't crash so who knows.

Dave

I'm pretty sure the downed plane is in current time, Jack/Hurley/Kate are in the 70s, so Sun/Jin are still separated and Kate and Sawyer are still separated.

Hmmm...didnt know the Kyaks where from the present, thought they might have been from another jump from the past. And Kate and Sawyer ARE in the same time (70's) so they could theortically be together. Boy, goes to show you how confusing it can get, at least for me.

Yea, I dont think the plane crashed, I think they just got time/space shifted. I somehow doubt they wanna deal with another plane crash, but I could be wrong. I like the proxy idea though, remember Kate having a deputy escorting her? Now Saiyd has a deputy escorting him. I wonder who the new guy on the plane with them was a proxy for? And the time jumping thing must have stopped for a while when the Dharma initiative was around since you see Daniel all over the place whenever they have flashes of that time.

I agree, last nights episode was great and it opens it up to tell the stories of how all of them came together on the plane in the end. Which will probably be told over the next 3-4 eps in my opinion. Next week it looks like they'll show Lockes story after he turned the wheel, I cant wait, Lost just gets better and better.

At least they answered how the head, ageless "other" (forgot his name) knew where Locke was and visited him as a kid. I remember the test when he asked young Locke to choose an item, was one of the items in the test a compass? When young Locke chose the knife he failed the test, would he have passed the test if he chose the compass? I think this was last season. When Lost is finally over I'm gonna have to watch the whole thing front to end on DVD just to get everything I missed or forgot.

39  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: I've always been a PSP man, but.... on: January 04, 2009, 01:10:50 AM
I'm pretty much the exact opposite, I picked up a PSP in early december and have been loving it ever since (DS collecting dust). I have the 3000 edition and the battery life of 8 hours has been more then enough, I went over to the inlaws and played for around 5 hours and still had half a charge left. The first game I bought for it at 14.99 was Killzone:Liberation and I loved it so much I finished it in about a week or so (it was a little short but hard). I cant really say I've done that on almost any DS games I bought. I think, overall, I spent about 90 bucks for the 13 games I bought for it including castlvania that I downloaded from the PSN store (I did that at the inlaws since I dont have a Wireless network). Gamestop had a buy 2 get 1 free on used games so I went a little nuts.
90% of DS games I see are for the young kidez which I have kinda outgrown, though I defenitly agree this is why the DS is doing so well. Which system is a parent gonna buy for there kids?...most likely the DS. When I'm browsing PS stuff in stores I see more teens to adults in the PSP section. I dont mind there not being a massive amount comming out this year, money and Time-wise I still have plenty to play and look forward to. One downside is I'm gonna have to buy a bigger memory stick if I wanna download more games, oh well. I've also been thinking about buying the Handle grips/external battery which make the PSP look like a PS2 controller and also extends the battery life 10 hours, down side is it blocks the UMD bay in back and I heard it slides a little in place. Maybe a future purchase.
