Non-Gaming / Trading Forum / Star Wars PSP-2000 Bundle w/ custom firmware
|
on: March 15, 2010, 10:43:06 PM
|
|
Hello,
I'm mostly inactive here, but post fairly frequently on OO. I'm looking to change from a PSP to a DS so the PSP has got to go. The PSP comes with Star Wars Battlefront, 2 4-GB memory cards, a soft case and a hard case, a usb charger/data cable, wall charger, and a second large battery w/ black cover. The PSP has some scratches on it, but nothing that bothers me while playing. I have custom firmware installed.
I'm looking for $130 (or best offer) shipped. PM if interested.

Dracula X Chronicles - PSP - (Been playing this in the background a little but I think I will have to get rid of it as I don't seem to have the patience for it. Too frustrating at times for my tastes.)
Play until you unlock Symphony of the Night! Then play Symphony of the Night! I finished Batman:AA and am starting Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

UN Squadron is fantastic. Bored nostalgic college student with a large federal tax refund + ebay = I spent how much on SNES stuff The sad thing is my brother and I used to pretty much have the exact same collection, but sold it off at EB Games for a penny on the dollar at some stupid, stupid point. Does anyone know of a retro-gaming sites that have a trading forum? I'd rather not deal with ebay...

As much as I want to preorder...I'll wait for the demo. Hopefully it will have it and I can be back to happily playing OOTP...I've missed it these past years.

Please forgive me for sounding like a mouthpiece, but if you like OOTP 8 then I think you'll love 9. There's a lot of streamlining and improvement to both the engine and existing features, plus the usual bells & whistles that get added for any new version of a game. For the sake of thruthiness in advertising, I'm slightly biased. What if I hated 2007 but loved 4->6.5? Something about the changed interface just always rubbed me wrong, and it looks like 9 moves slightly back towards the older interface with having the various options all the way at the top, which is one of the things that bugged me. How long is the preorder going to be available?

Since OO is dead...I'll post my impressions here:
I am 20 hours into it, and am waiting to finish the last couple of chapters until I have completed the missions...am at 64% now and lvl 61.
The missions have been a real disappointment, there was a mission there where they changed up the setting, but I don't really recall any others that left the slums, desert, cave, weird building, plains random maps. They had more environments in the game...why not use them more? I'm real anal though, so I'll go to 100% or until I meet a mission I can't beat.
The DMW hasn't bothered me as much at it did at the beginning. The best is Chocobo mode...Once I started using fusion and got 300+% HP and similar upgrades to attack, vitality, AP, magic, and spirit...the gains from a level just aren't as important...I guess I am power gaming...
Its disappointing that the mission system unbalances the story so much. I haven't had a decent story fight since the missions started (for a while I always did a mission as soon as I go it).
- In my opinion, the combat. is. not. good. I went 15 hours using assault twister, cure, and blizzard/blizzaga (only for enemies strong against physical attacks) and evade. Since I got crush (99999 max dmg FTW!) and magic punch, it has been even less pretty.
- None of the fusion tricks or combat decisions I made were based on FAQs or anything, I just started fusing to see what was up, and soon enough all the stat bonuses were what was up!
- The story has been superb as are the graphics.
- Despite all the flaws, the obsessiveness of beating missions keeps me coming back, so despite all the flaws...it still has that fun factor that I can't explain.
Overall I give it a B so far. If I wasn't a FF7 fan I'd probably give it a C...
Finished today with 90% or so of the missions completed at level 75. I was disappointed (but not surprised) that the last few bosses were so easy, I say not suprised because at level 75 I was doing 99999 damage each hit....none of the bosses lasted more than 3 hits. I'd score the game a C+ and the story a A( I won't go for A+ because some of the stuff was too out there for my simpleton mind to grasp/ remember from FF7). I think if combat was better and the mission structure improved then it would be a GoTY contender, but due to them I place it in the next tier down.

My Fair Lady wants to go to Baltimore for the fresh seafood. I thought it sounded like a good idea but if people who have been there all say "do anything else" then I might side with the public opinion.
If you want fresh seafood and want to get out of DC go to Annapolis or the Eastern Shore or stay in DC....unless you're an Orioles fan/ baseball stadium fan there's no reason to take a day to go to Baltimore.

I saw Incubus a few years ago at the Patriot Center.
Overall I wasn't too impressed with the show. They didn't really seem to try to interact with the crowd...just said "Thank you, thank you" after every song.
And CSL, you're the crazy one, Zaxxon hasn't posted in this thread.

I'm sorry you are correct hits is poor grammar on my part. 12000 unique visitors is what I should have said. It's pretty crazy that 12,000 people were reading the GG forums. That's a lot of lurkers. Probably 12x at least the number of people who posted frequently over an extended period.

When it came back to life after dying Oct 5th. Maybe? Past moments I'd have to go with any thread that had a weird story or whatever when it was still in its infancy. So when my girlfriend tried to tell me about something I'd be like "Saw it....a year ago" and she'd get all pissy.

Non-Gaming / Steals and Deals / Lots of games at Wal-Mart for $15
|
on: October 11, 2004, 05:23:33 AM

As with most Wal-mart deals, it's completly YMMV.
SSX 3 is $19.82 at my Wal-Mart. Metal Arms is $29.82. Brute Force, Freedom Fighters, and NFS:HP2 are all $19.82.
In fact, the only $15 console games we have other than GBA at my particular Wal-Mart are: Sphinx (X-Box), and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (PS2). Could be the fact that the deal was spotted over a month ago.

Thank heavens I don't know you in person then.
I'd be very upset about the urine in my ears.
I'm glad too. I don't know that I could perform with an audience like that, And to clarify: I meant I would have commenced with the peeing if someone said right after the 2nd cd came out it was going to be this damn good. Cause I didn't see The Thrills going up in overall quality so quickly.

Actually, my first question is: why are you rubbing any part of your body back and forth on the back of your computer chair??
Good question...I think it has something to do with not wanting to study or boredom, or studying making me bored,, or the idea of studying making me cry.

And now when I rub my head back and forth on the back of my computer chair it generates a lot of static electricity.
Discuss.
I expect the following issues to be resolved: -If a rub my head while typing can I somehow generat enough static electricity to fry my keyboard and/or PC? :?: - Will I wake up with a headache from this surge of activity on the top of my head? :?: - Will my neck hurt in the morning? :?: - Should I have gotten my hair cut so short? :?: - Are sci-fi games now defunct?

Just got My Chemical Romance: Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge I first listened to it in the car and was utterly unimpressed. Listening through it a second time I have become more impressed.
Morrisey: You Are The Quarry Interesting. That's all I've got on it so far.
The Thrills: Let's Bottle Bohemia If someone told me the 2nd cd by The Thrills would be this damn good I would have peed on their head. Luckily for them, no one I talk to in a way that would allow for peeing on one's ehad listens to The Thrills.

Now that I've had more time to think about it... (1) ConsoleGold rocks. So kind to be allow us to use here as a temporary (permanent? ) home.
(2) Whatever the reason for the sudden disappearance of GoneGold will suck since it sounds like the problem has nothing to do with technical stuff.

I've got to chime in here and say that having a SO that isn't a gamer isn't all that bad, so long as she's understanding enough to allow you some time for your hobby. Mitma's not much of a gamer (Kyodai is about her limit), but she has no qualms with me gaming, and will occasionally even watch. I'm definitely better off with her than without. My girlfriend isn't much into games, but she tolerates them. Probably because I tolerate shopping with her.
