I got a copy of this with my new video card but it would just sit in my backlog, likely forever. A $20 donation to my paypal Christmas slush fund will get you the code.  I think it will work for either PC or XBox.

I'm a little late but if your willing to wait  I'll be replacing my EVGA GTX 970 FTW ACX 2.0 4GB within a few weeks.  Still runs like a champ and probably would sell it for a $100 to a forum member.

Wow, I was surprised to see this thread all the way back on page 6.  It seems like nobody has been playing the DLC?

Personally I was waiting until all of the DLC was out before going back, and as of next Tuesday the 30th I guess that's it.  A bit disappointing given the whole "raising price" shenanigans and that half the DLC has just seemed like mods, but I guess that's what we get with Season Passes these days.

Anyway, here's the Nuka World trailer as well as the full cartoon featuring Bottle & Cappy.  Hopefully this one is quite sizable and worth the wait.

I thought Far Harbor was pretty good, the rest of the released DLC was meh, probably because I kind of gave up on building/maintaining settlements.  Nuka World looks promising so I don't think I'll regret the Season Pass at the discount I got it at way back when.  I'm ready for the next FO, wish they had something set up with a fast turn around like FO3 and FO:NV.

Wow, how the hell did they manage to make it that light at 15"?  I've been looking for an ultra-portable in the 12-13" range to take on a trip this fall that would also be a replacement for my bedside tablet.  I'm intrigued by the upcoming Asus Transformer 3.  I may just hold out to see the new Surface stuff since they will likely have the new Kaby Lake processors.

I've been looking at new monitors for over a year now and still can't figure out what I want.  The premium price for the X-34 is just crazy to me, could almost get 2 34" curved for that when they are on sale. I would also hold off on an video card purchase, if possible, until nVidia releases it's new chipset which could be a soon as April but probably June.   It's suppose to be significantly faster and should cause a drop in 980's unless nVidia is going to set another level for enthusiast gaming cards.

The achievement hunt helped in the beginning but once I had most of the upgrades and passive scrap coming in, it sort of lost its importance and my desire.  The fact that the death races segment was horrible also made it easy to not worry about collecting everything.

Quote from: whiteboyskim on October 12, 2015, 10:44:02 PM

The only mission where it was an issue was the Gastown Races (sing this song, Do Dah, Do Dah). There you need your Thunderpoon maxed and the vehicle armor maxed and as strong a set of handling as you can muster. I was able to take the enemy down in about 5 hits following a long string of failures. Also, drop the ramming grill and you should be fine.

That race pissed me off to no end.  I actually did it by focusing on handling, speed, & acceleration with no grill, med. armor and the obvious max thunderpoon.  When I finally did kill the vehicle it was during the 1st lap, any longer and RNG or some BS handling crash into a wall would get me.  I once had him down to 1 shot, was right on his ass, and he dropped mines right on top of me.

The Man in the High Castle is the one new show I'm looking forward too, but November 20th is a ways off.  The Bastard Executioner was good enough to stay on the DVR subscribe list but the first episode didn't hook me completely.  Binge watched American Horror Story over the summer so will definitely be checking out the new season.

I've just started this and really like it.  Tatiana is amazing, in every way.  She needs to win multiple awards for acting, and she's Hawt!

Totally agree, this show is fantastic and Tatiana is absolutely incredible.  It's really gotten to the point where I think of each of her clones as completely different characters, she's that good.  I actually forget it's the same actress portraying them.  And not only that, she makes each of them likable in completely different ways.  You know they've done something special when you find yourself rooting for a psychotic assassin that talks to an imaginary scorpion.

I haven't watched this season, going to binge watch it when the season ends, but yeah she is getting totally screwed over in awards.  Lot of other good actors supporting her too, her brother is great.

Little late to the thread but you may want to look at T-mobile for service.  Their Simple Choice plans have free data and text and $0.20 a minute on calls when you're travelling internationally.  They also have 0% interest on phone purchases but it looks a late for that.
12  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor on: April 07, 2015, 07:05:36 PM
So Blizz added Tokens to the game where you can pay $20 for a token to be sold on the AH for 30 days of game time.  You are even able to purchase a token from the AH if your sub is inactive.  It prompts you when you're logged in if you would like to purchase one to reactivate your account.  Current price on the one server I checked was 30,300 gold and it will subtract the 30,300 evenly across all the characters on the realm.  I still haven't bought WoD, and it's currently on sale, but I'm not really feeling the desire to go back with my current backlog. But damn are they tempting me, I have enough gold at the current price to play for almost a year for free.  It will be interesting to see how this impacts the economy in the game and how much the token price fluctuates.

I haven't really seen the preview at each commercial thing on American TV so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

It's the kind of thing where they'll say "coming up next" or similar phrases, then show a couple of things to try to hook you into watching until the next commercial. My impression is that it's very common. GameTrailers used to do this kind of thing too with their Bonus Round videos, but they must have gotten complaints, because they've stopped.

I've never heard of a preview at any point except at the end to tease what's coming next week.

Pretty much every 'Reality' TV show I've ever seen has this preview crap.  It's as annoying as the documentary type shows where they rehash the previous segment.  I almost never watch reality TV shows anymore and I've basically given up on shows on the History channel from all the commercial break recaps.

The 'feature' seems to be isolated to certain places/enemies. I had a great set up for a section of the prison which was wasted by every enemy but one basically in melee range by the 2nd turn. I also had 2 enemies on a slight rise at the bottom of a canyon wall and couldn't target them even though its practically the same elevation as my squad.  Wasted a damn grenade just trying to get them.  The movement change really hasn't been a show stopper since I still manage to survive, but it's damn annoying.

I've been tempted to restart since I've made a few mistakes with my skill selection but I really haven't had any serious problems progressing along.  However, I did run into 3 Slicer Dicers with my group currently around lvl 11.  Not good, will be avoiding that spot for a while even though it's in the area of manageable stuff.

- Increased the ďmove closerĒ range of NPC AIs each turn they canít find anywhere to move to a maximum of 80 squares. [Uuuuh... what?-bj  confused]

I think they just made this worse.  My last play before the patching was an encounter in the Rail Nomad Raider area.  I sent 2 guys after a sniper and rifleman that were on the other side of a ravine that was going to take me at least 3 turns to reach.  They got caught in the open and died.  It was getting late so I stopped playing.  Today when I replayed the fight one of the guys moved all of that distance and parked himself on my sniper after he initiated the encounter.  mad  I had this happen again in another encounter from an NPC who was not in view when the encounter started.  Once they are in the effective combat range area their movement goes back to normal but it totally screws with any tactical set up.

*If there is in fact a cure for it (the ACUTE variation, not the moderate one), not seen anything online about it.

You need to use the Ag Center Serum, which I found some laying next to the Herbicide gun.  I'm horribly low on 5.56 ammo in Ag Center, going to be a bitch till I find more or level and add a 2nd weapon skill.
The Ag Center Serum does NOT fix the ACUTE infection. I and others have tried. If you apply the serum to a character that has the ACUTE (worsened) version of the infection, all it does is provide a temporary constitution buff that wears off.

The ACUTE infection killing off characters is either a bug or they simply want to light a fire under your behind to finish up the quests in that area. Basically, if you don't cure the characters before the "non-acute" infection timer runs out, it becomes ACUTE and the character will die eventually.

I don't consider this Acute info any sort of spoiler. It's not explained in the game. If you don't know it, you'll waste the precious serum trying to save your character to no avail and be really pissed off at the devs. You want to save the serum for later quests in the wasteland.

So my advice to newbs is don't dawdle in Ag Center. Save often. If the squad's infected, don't explore every nook and cranny until every squad member is cured. Please avoid my pain.  icon_smile

So why let the infection get to the Acute level?  This is based on doing the Ag Center after Highpool, which certainly could change some things (devs are really setting this up for multiple play throughs). I haven't gotten anyone infected at the Ag center and another farm just by using one or 2 squaddies to kite the pod people around.

I didn't mean to imply the writing is poor... far from it. But, the plots are far less engaging than the characters, dialog, and scenery (for me).

When I finish with series 4, I am going to give "Upstairs, Downstairs" a try. I have heard some fans describe Downton Abbey as "Upstairs, Downstairs for morons". smile

I prefer the original 1970's Upstairs, Downstairs more than Downton Abbey, perhaps because Downton seems like a knockoff of U,D to me.  I would definitely give U,D a try if you like Downton.  They did a new U,D that brought back one of the original characters a couple of years ago, but it wasn't very good so it only lasted 2 seasons.

List in order the higher rate of return in protein for raising cows, chickens, pigs, cats, dogs, and horses and you'll likely find your answer.  Dogs and cats are also carnivores, not many carnivores taste as good.

How do you like the Transformer?

$170 for a tablet is a sweet deal, must investigate further.

I'd still go with the ASUS for $100 cheaper than the Galaxy 10.1.  The Galaxy form/build is a bit nicer but not for $100. Only gripes specific to the ASUS I have is the proprietary usb charging and short cable. Some people don't like the plastic back but I don't see or have much of a problem with it.  ASUS has been quick to update the software and the keyboard/charger/battery add-on is pretty nice, even though I haven't bought it yet.  Still can't stream Netflix is my only other real complaint but can't blame ASUS.  3G model of the Transformer is suppose to be out in September.

So you use worst case numbers for the US, against best case numbers for saddam.   Nice job there, might want to compare the same things, worst case to worst case from the numbers.

Okay, so best case is about equal. The worst case vs worst case? Let's use a very high estimate on the total people killed by Saddam, 2 millions. High enough, right? Then divide that by 24 = 83333 per year. Compare that the worst case for the invasion and occupation 267123 per year. So still doesn't show that Saddam was a greater threat than US invasion and occupation.

Your method is still flawed.  You're comparing a 24 year period with a 2 year period during the peak of violence.
