looks like ratings for the premiere were OK.

That is amazing. I wish I could get someone to turn my series into an epic TV show!

Zombie story/mods for this?

http://sojournertales.com/

(I kickstarted this project/game, which ended like a week ago)

Cool kickstarter. I was in the Kaiju Rising kickstarter that recently funded and even had someone buy my tuckerized tier level so I get to write a Kaiju story staring them - and probably ending them. SPALT.

What kind of zombie stories are you guys looking for? Modern or historic? I always wanted to see zombies during the crusades. Knights on horseback vs. hordes of undead.

Bought. I may need to move it to the head of the reading list for timeliness.

If you read it today it will be right about when the story takes place in relation to Real World Events. Just don't mind the actual day of the week.

It's about an hour's read. That would be funny if it coincided with real world - and maybe a zombie apoc is just what the capitol needs.

Spoiler for Hiden:

LOL, thanks. I hope it was a buck well spent.

Thanks, I was actually thinking about starting a thread about the book and how it came about but I hate to be too spammy. This little story has already shot into the #2 and #3 spots on Amazon's political best seller lists which made my eyes do this:  eek

06 Mustang, I've had it for a few years but I don't drive much. The car has 38K miles on it. Our other car is an 09 Nissan Rogue. My wife drives it because my car is too low or something and that works for me.

Are you all sick of Congress sitting on their asses? I know I am and that's why I wrote this little bit of mayhem set in the capitol. Why? Because zombies don't need health care.

90  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: The Walking Dead tap dances onto AMC for Season 4 on: October 14, 2013, 12:39:17 PM
I didn't care for last season's lazy plot and "villain" who pulled of menacing about as well as Doctor Evil. That said I was quite impressed with last nights episode. There were still the a number of WB drama level emotional scenes. And Rick showed his usual level of emo scenes including the every present shaky gun while practically sobbing scene. BUT I was really drawn into the

Nice that they upped the gore quotient and associated sound effects.

A few months ago I decided it was time to change one of my book covers. The Zombie Wilson Diaries is a silly book about a guy stuck on a deserted island with a female zombie as "wilson". It's had the same cover for a while and I thought a cover refresh would be cool to perk up sales. A fan of my books is an actress and former playboy model so I approached her about doing a photo shoot. She didn't take out a restraining order so that was a win. The full shoot netted me 160 photos of her dressed in a ridiculous coconut bra and grass skirt to use in future promotions. Anyway, here's a pic of Rachael looking normal:

Here's Rachael after the shoot and zombieifed:

Here's the final cover:

And here are a few bonus shots of Rachael Robbins that I stole from her Facebook page.

101  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Hold that pose! (Looking at getting a new camera) on: October 08, 2013, 08:02:58 PM
I don't know which camera brands to recommend. I went in looking at Nikon and walked out with Cannon but that was only after a sales person told me the similarly priced Nikon's video quality wasn't as good as the Cannon's. I don't know it that's true. What I know is that our picture quality has increased significantly since we got the T3i last year. I can put it on dumb mode and snap pictures like a pro. Seriously, the images are amazing when you get in this price range.

Thanks for checking out the book! If you can spare a minute to drop a review on Amazon that would be great. If not, it's all good.

I do have plans for a sequel. Hopefully the book will continue to sell and build an audience.  nod

104  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: RIP Tom Clancy on: October 03, 2013, 05:55:51 PM
I got into the Clancy books relatively late but enjoyed them. I think I started reading with The Sum of all Fears and then went back and read Red Storm Rising and then the rest of the Jack Ryan books. I never read Bear and the Dragon, though. Maybe time to get a kindle copy.

I found his plots really interesting and always deep even if I didn't agree with his politics. One thing about Clancy, he predicted quite a number of (or had an inside source) interesting spy and military gear.

I did a free day yesterday (just over 1,000 downloads) and a .99 sale today with some paid advertising. Just trying to get more copies in hands. More copies = more reviews. More reviews = sales. LOL it's a vicious cycle. Now a days it's all about amazon reviews. This whole changing genres thing is a pain in the ass.

Don't read my book after Martin, sheesh. At least cleanse your pallet with something a little less epic first. My little paranormal murder mystery is pretty far from incest, backstabbing, politicking, and dragons.

urban fantasy is always a good cleanser after epic fantasy.  it bridges the reality with the fantasy quite nicely.  plus, you haven't written any of my go-to genre for fantasy follow-up:  sci-fi.
... yet.

My first attempt at writing a book was a Sci-fi spy novel called Zero Breath. I was about 50K words into it when I realized it was complete and utter crap. I tossed it.

Actually my bud Jonthan Moon and I are embarking on a new book. We just worked out a sweet deal to write a Cronenberg-esque horror thriller called The Boom Generation but it probably won't be out until early 2015. Not exactly Sci-Fi but it's going to be quite a different book for me.

My goal is to start work on an epic fantasy next year that's been brewing in my head for a few years. Fantasy has always been my first love and I plan to do right by her.

so, which version would get you a better profit?  I find myself reading more hard copies of books nowadays, but if Kindle is where you get a better profit I'll grab that instead.  granted, it might be awhile until I read it; my reading time is currently filled up with textbooks for classes (I hate writing poetry, shoot me now).

Buying from my website. The only problem is that I don't have books to sign and send out yet. They'll be here in about 2 weeks. Printers ...

The release date is Sept 10th but it's already starting to leak onto sites.

Brought.. Delivered to my Kindle Fire..  It's in my queue, but I have several books to read before I get to it.  I am looking forward to reading it

Thank you Soulchilde!

Yesterday was the release date and it was a blast. I did a live twitter chat, had an event on Facebook, and gave away about a dozen books. I only need to sell about 400 more books to make a small profit on this one - gah!
