Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Anyone still play CS:S?
|
on: December 05, 2005, 10:20:18 PM
|
I can normally play between 8-11 S-Th or 8-whenever Fri/Sat Central time. Sort of just play a bit when I can. Xfire would be the best way to play a map. I'm on xfire as creepysmell so either ask for invite or I'll send you one. I was too busy this weekend to really play though I did squeak in a map or two late sunday night with some older clannies. I'm trying to find out if they always play there or just server hop. Oh how I missed unloading full clips into people less than a meter from me and all my bullets missing It was still fun and the updated maps are so purty.

Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Anyone still play CS:S?

I used to play a lot but haven't played much since the old server I played on for years died. It died a bit before CS:S came out and had a semi revival but never recovered as most of use moved to other games or new servers but not just 1 server.
I like playing with the same group and not just totally random people. I played a bit of CS:S on another server I liked but havent played in months. If I play a multi FPS lately I've mainly been playing Coop (JoinOps or Raven Shield).
I wouldnt mind playing a few rounds again though.

Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Can a complete newb build his own rig? *Final Update*
|

|
I built my first rig years back after only installing a video card and maybe a HD. I just read about it a lot on and read the manual too. Only difficulty I had was that the memory wanted to be in a specific slot to boot which took me some time since I didn't think it was that. Why not build it but have a knowledgeable friend watch or be on call?

Are there shots or videos of how the 360 looks on a non HD tv? Just wondering what kind of graphical improvement nonHDers will see.

Years back for a computer class I got a removable HD so I could trash a old 8gb drive and not my real HD. Maybe I'll start using that when I want to rip new cds. Only time I really use it now is to play a few old games that like W95 and not W2K so I dont mind occasionally hosing it. Much better option than hosing my real HD.

While checking some other boards found this one about a home made revolution controller. There is a torrent video, but I can see it yet since I'm at work . Most people posting seem to like it but I have no idea what all it shows. Thought some here might be interested.

I didnt mind the episodes when they actually did stunts but they then got stuck on just eating nasty stuff. Guess it was cheaper, safer and got more ratings that way.

How in the hell could anyone think Return of the Jedi is the best? The whole Jabba scene was forced and boring (even as a 13 year old in '83).

Saw these revo addon concepts on gamespot forums. Not that they are real, but they do show what could be do with it. . Attach the thumb controller thing to this . (Whoever did this should have made the triggers the gas and brake, not the buttons) I really want to see real demos of it in use and not just people moving around where you never see the screen. At least they are including more traditional controller to so the system isnt stuck with just the new control as input.

There is a password on it. It's probably a wiz for a kid to figure out though through repeated button mashing. Hopefully the person will just clear out my info and start their own.
You think I should email them and ask them to clear out the info because I forgot? Depends. Do you think an email would perk their interest in trying to crack your account? Do you know if they even planned on using xbox live? If you know someone else with an xbox can you log in from their xbox and change your account info (I dont have live so no clue on the feasability of this)?

Got to this point in the game and then went off to playing something else for a while. Had read how to get past it but this thread gave me the urge to go back and do it. Only took me two tries. Funny thing happened after it though. I met up with Alex and when I went through a load point another Alex appeared. So now I got two of them . Only 1 would fight though but they both followed me. I then stepped on a broken computer and blew me up . Luckily I had a save right before that point.

Or
Right before the final confrontation, they decide its too much of a hassle and go back home to watch tv or play videogames.

I think the base should have come with a stock small HDD and the larger package a bigger HDD. That way all games could use the HDD but with the bigger package you could store way more stuff.
One thing I liked about the xbox was no memory card required. If its costs $40 for one for the 360, it seems a waste to not just get the bigger package since for $100 you get the HDD and other stuff so would not need the memory card.

Are you a Rollins Band fan as well? Actually I've just been getting into "old punk" recently so I've heard of Rollins Band but haven't actually been able to hear anything by them. Where's a good place to start? First RB album I had was End of Silence. I also have heard Weight. They are both good but I like EoS more. Not sure why. Maybe since I've listened to it more and am more familiar with it. Not sure of any others since I haven't heard them.

The $10/mo is so you can listen to all the music you want each month. Though you may download them they will cease to work if you cancel napster.
The .99 is for the ability to purchase the song and still have access to it if you cancel napster.
I would assume the free trial just covers the regular access while subscribing to napster, not the keep forever part.
This is at least how I understood it to work.

Hacking into government computers is not the best way to prove that aliens exist. Especially at the cost of so many years of ones life.
It would be better to just smash their broadcast system that keeps our minds asleep so that everyone can see.

I think it would make more sense that you get free games based on what you purchase. Purchase the new Metroid game and get all the old ones for free, etc. This would be a good tie in of the new to old game.
Or just buy a new game and get X free ones to download, maybe the age of the system decides what you get (1 n64 vs 2 snes vs 3 nes, etc.)
