561  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Gamer Loses Games In Fire on: December 10, 2005, 06:09:34 PM
Any PC games to be replaced or just PS2?
562  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Anyone still play CS:S? on: December 08, 2005, 10:29:49 PM
It seemed to me that after one of the versions was released that the headshots became easier. Somewhere between 1 and 1.6 I think. Not sure if they changed hitboxes or what.
563  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Anyone still play CS:S? on: December 05, 2005, 10:20:18 PM
I can normally play between 8-11 S-Th or 8-whenever Fri/Sat Central time. Sort of just play a bit when I can. Xfire would be the best way to play a map.

I'm on xfire as creepysmell so either ask for invite or I'll send you one.

I was too busy this weekend to really play though I did squeak in a map or two late sunday night with some older clannies. I'm trying to find out if they always play there or just server hop.

Oh how I missed unloading full clips into people less than a meter from me and all my bullets missing smile

It was still fun and the updated maps are so purty.
564  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / WAY late to the party: Metal Gear Solid 2 on: December 05, 2005, 10:15:30 PM
I grabbed myself a copy for cheap ways back and played maybe 5 minutes before I was distracted by something else.

Its one of those games that I plan on playing one day even though that day is not today.

Maybe one da...

565  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Anyone still play CS:S? on: December 02, 2005, 05:34:13 PM
I used to play a lot but haven't played much since the old server I played on for years died. It died a bit before CS:S came out and had a semi revival but never recovered as most of use moved to other games or new servers but not just 1 server.

I like playing with the same group and not just totally random people. I played a bit of CS:S on another server I liked but havent played in months. If I play a multi FPS lately I've mainly been playing Coop (JoinOps or Raven Shield).

I wouldnt mind playing a few rounds again though.
566  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Is there a FPS available that lets you play coop? on: December 02, 2005, 05:27:20 PM
How about Raven Shield (Rainbow Six 3)? You get to shoot the bad guys smile
567  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Ketchup vs. Mustard - fight! on: November 30, 2005, 10:33:08 PM
What if you swing both ways? At the same time!

Though I prefer Arby's sauce over either K or M.
568  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / How do I update my BIOS? on: November 18, 2005, 03:44:45 AM
Page 32 of the manual goes over it a bit.

You need a program called AWDFLASH.EXE.

Asus' Support pages have a good section on it too with links to AWDFLASH. Just look for you motherboard model.
569  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Should I buy a DS or a GBA? on: November 14, 2005, 10:52:42 PM
Buy the DS. Then you get both GBA and DS games. While you might save a bit or get an extra GBA game if you get the GBA, there is bound to be a DS game you want.
570  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / [XBOX] Call of Cthulhu -- Let the Bethesda bashing begin! on: November 13, 2005, 03:00:22 AM
Any updates on how anyone liked this game? Is it good the whole way through?
571  Non-Gaming / Hardware / Software Hell / Can a complete newb build his own rig? *Final Update* on: November 09, 2005, 02:46:33 AM
I built my first rig years back after only installing a video card and maybe a HD. I just read about it a lot on and read the manual too. Only difficulty I had was that the memory wanted to be in a specific slot to boot which took me some time since I didn't think it was that. Why not build it but have a knowledgeable friend watch or be on call?
572  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / XBox vs Xbox 360 on: November 08, 2005, 06:12:07 PM
Are there shots or videos of how the 360 looks on a non HD tv? Just wondering what kind of graphical improvement nonHDers will see.

574  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Sony BMG's CDs are now spyware on: November 03, 2005, 05:27:03 PM
Years back for a computer class I got a removable HD so I could trash a old 8gb drive and not my real HD. Maybe I'll start using that when I want to rip new cds. Only time I really use it now is to play a few old games that like W95 and not W2K so I dont mind occasionally hosing it. Much better option than hosing my real HD.

577  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / The real Revo controller on: October 28, 2005, 09:30:40 PM
While checking some other boards found this one about a home made revolution controller.

There is a torrent video, but I can see it yet since I'm at work frown.

Most people posting seem to like it but I have no idea what all it shows.

Thought some here might be interested.

I didnt mind the episodes when they actually did stunts but they then got stuck on just eating nasty stuff. Guess it was cheaper, safer and got more ratings that way.

583  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / The real Revo controller on: September 17, 2005, 05:12:26 PM
Saw these revo addon concepts on gamespot forums. Not that they are real, but they do show what could be do with it.

. Attach the thumb controller thing to this smile .

(Whoever did this should have made the triggers the gas and brake, not the buttons)

I really want to see real demos of it in use and not just people moving around where you never see the screen.

At least they are including more traditional controller to so the system isnt stuck with just the new control as input.

There is a password on it.   It's probably a wiz for a kid to figure out though through repeated button mashing.    Hopefully the person will just clear out my info and start their own.

You think I should email them and ask them to clear out the info because I forgot?

Depends. Do you think an email would perk their interest in trying to crack your account? Do you know if they even planned on using xbox live?

If you know someone else with an xbox can you log in from their xbox and change your account info (I dont have live so no clue on the feasability of this)?
587  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / HL2:What tactic did you take when... on: September 04, 2005, 09:35:44 PM
Got to this point in the game and then went off to playing something else for a while. Had read how to get past it but this thread gave me the urge to go back and do it. Only took me two tries.

Funny thing happened after it though. I met up with Alex and when I went through a load point another Alex appeared. So now I got two of them smile . Only 1 would fight though but they both followed me. I then stepped on a broken computer and blew me up frown . Luckily I had a save right before that point.

The ghost is one of their pets from youth so they are torn between memories of their beloved pet and the evil wraith it now is.

Or

Right before the final confrontation, they decide its too much of a hassle and go back home to watch tv or play videogames.
592  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Xbox 360 Pre-Release Thread on: August 17, 2005, 03:56:58 PM
I think the base should have come with a stock small HDD and the larger package a bigger HDD. That way all games could use the HDD but with the bigger package you could store way more stuff.

One thing I liked about the xbox was no memory card required. If its costs $40 for one for the 360, it seems a waste to not just get the bigger package since for $100 you get the HDD and other stuff so would not need the memory card.

Revolution.

I have a xbox and still have tons of gaming to do on it so not in a hurry to get the next version.

I really want a gamecube for the exclusives but am holding out for the rev since its backwards compatible.

Are you a Rollins Band fan as well?

Actually I've just been getting into "old punk" recently so I've heard of Rollins Band but haven't actually been able to hear anything by them.  Where's a good place to start?

First RB album I had was End of Silence. I also have heard Weight. They are both good but I like EoS more. Not sure why. Maybe since I've listened to it more and am more familiar with it.

Not sure of any others since I haven't heard them.
596  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Napster question on: June 24, 2005, 02:40:18 AM
The $10/mo is so you can listen to all the music you want each month. Though you may download them they will cease to work if you cancel napster.

The .99 is for the ability to purchase the song and still have access to it if you cancel napster.

I would assume the free trial just covers the regular access while subscribing to napster, not the keep forever part.

This is at least how I understood it to work.
597  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Your Nintendo Revolution Controller rumor for the day.... on: June 23, 2005, 03:14:59 AM
I dont see how this controller would be any less confusing for nongamers, which I thought was one of their targets.

I'm currently wanting to get a gamecube for nintendo exclusives but want to hold out until more revolution details are given since its backwards compatible.

Its toying with me.
599  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Worlds "Biggest" hacker busted on: June 08, 2005, 09:44:21 PM
Hacking into government computers is not the best way to prove that aliens exist. Especially at the cost of so many years of ones life.

It would be better to just smash their broadcast system that keeps our minds asleep so that everyone can see.
600  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Nintendo Revolution downloads free? on: June 03, 2005, 09:33:46 PM
I think it would make more sense that you get free games based on what you purchase. Purchase the new Metroid game and get all the old ones for free, etc. This would be a good tie in of the new to old game.

Or just buy a new game and get X free ones to download, maybe the age of the system decides what you get (1 n64 vs 2 snes vs 3 nes, etc.)
