Kratz! Kratz! He's our man! If he can't do it... Several other forumers have? In all seriousness, congrats on the 46 hours and may the number only grow. Your kiddo will thank you for it.

Chik-fil-A nugget platters are one of my favoritest get together muchables. You'd be hard pressed to find a more tasty and welcome pre-made party tray from anywhere, much less another fast food joint. They are universally welcomed. Even amongst health food nuts. Not that I'll be there. I'm just sayin'. P.S. - Welcome home and have a fan-damn-tastic time Kato. I'll happily join the nationwide "raise-a-glass to Kato" moment when the time gets nailed down. Just think, we'll all be able to say, "I knew him way before he was President." Seriously! An azn pirate war-hero gamer? With both parties rushing to have the first (insert descriptor here) in the White House, how can he NOT run?!?

I think it's just another personality. It's entirely possible that there's another personality that has a different, untapped power and no recollection of her life as Nikki/Jessica/Rudolph/Ted Mosby/Fred Flintstone/Lisa The Incontinent Barber.
A personality whose power manifested when she needed it most... Perhaps her power is the ability to create new powers as needed? The only downside of which, and what keeps her from being Petrelli or Sylar like, is that the new powers are inextricably linked to personality changes?

I actually had to look up Terry Farrell to find out who she was. (and my first reaction was also "Perry Farrell?")
Terry Farrel was one of the stars of the great Back to School. She was also in some tv series a while ago. I can't remember which one, but it involved people in costumes. Don't forget the stunningly flawless Hellraiser 3: Hell on Earth. How can anyone forget the scene in the church... Terry Farrell runs into the church frantic, heads to the priest telling her the demons are after her. The priest consoles her, "Demon's aren't real child, they're parables!"
Every candle in the church flares, shooting flames towards the ceiling as stain-glassed windows along the pews explode inwards. The giant double doors at the far end of the church open to reveal Pinhead, standing with arms outsretched.
Farrell turns, points at Pinhead and exlaims, "Then what the FUCK is THAT?" I LOVE that scene.

i'll tell you, being an RN is one of the safest jobs around right now. makes IT look like a seasonal job at the mall. That's why I switched after the tech bust in 2001. Now, after 4 years of slogging through school with a teacher's income, our futures are looking better than most of my friends/relatives.

According to the official Domino's website, The Oreo Dessert Pizza is basically a sweetened wheat flour crust, covered in vanilla sauce and icing and then topped off with mounds of Oreo cookie crumbs. No pepperoni, no sale. buy your own pepperoni and put it on yourself. Why would he want pepperoni all over his body? Huw wouldn't want pepperoni all over Huw's body. But CeeKay would... *Nom-Nom-Nom*

Holy Avandra! I'd be willing to bet the whole group would want at least 5 of them to hang up in their homes!

Hasn't affected me, or the wife, much at all. She's a teacher, I'm a nurse. Her pay is virtually the same year-to-year, I'll be getting a raise next pay period. While we've noticed the rising cost of living, it's been easy to absorb because we've lived below our means ever since I graduated and got my job. We'll notice the biggest hit after we've paid our bills for surrogacy and our savings don't spring back as fast as they grew the first time 'round.

Took "Best Overall" in the competition, beating out competition from both the Ork Klan and Space Marine Chapter categories. Got a $20 box of my choosing, so I got some Scout Marines for my little brother - who took Best Painted and got... some other beakie box. Assault Squad maybe? "Most Original Ork Clan" went to a guy who spoofed the concept of an Ork 'Green' Tide, having them led by the environmentally conscious Warboss who defeated global warming - Aalgor. I didn't get to read his fluff, but I hear it was quite funny.

Cruel Intentions - heaps of lust and envy throughout the movie. And then there's my personal envy for Ryan Phillippe who got to be the leading man between two women I've lusted after at one time or another.

drove around a bit today, realized how unbelievably lucky we are to have gotten power back so quickly- we are literally a little island of power in a sea of no power here in Houston. When driving around, I must have stopped at around 20-25 stop lights, and only 2 of them were operational. A handful of convenience stores are open here and there, none of them with power only accepting cash. We are currently hosting friends and family who are not so fortunate as us, having cookouts in the backyard, playing Rock Band (wish I could get my hands on RB2, but oh well, what can you do? ) My In-Laws are in the "without power" boat, staying with their In-Laws who have a power boat... er... Are in the "have power" boat. Sounds like that's happening all over Houston at the moment. I hear the power companies are telling people, "We're working to restore power as fast as we can. It could be as short as tomorrow, it could be as long as a month."

Sorry for the short session, and thanks everyone for understanding.
Litte brother is doing fine. They think he probably "fractured a disc" and will be back to normal in 2-4 weeks. He's hobbling around with crutches and an immobilizer to that knee. By the time we left, he was checking out of the hospital and wanting to go eat sushi.
Again, thanks for your understanding.

Thanks for the compliments, guys. I'm hoping ROTC doesn't mind this becoming the unofficial "40K Update Thread." If he does, I'll gladly start a new one. (And am hoping others can/will start posting their stuff, too.) I honestly can't believe I've been so productive lately. Guess I've been re-bitten by the bug. And with my little brother's win at the painting comp (Best Painted Character for his awesome Space Marine Chaplain) he's been bitten as well. I'd forgotten how much fun it was to bounce stuff off him. Revitalizes us both. Anywho, the LGS is having a "Space Marine Chapter or Ork Clan Design Contest" to coincide with the Assault on Black Reach release. The gist - use the contents of the box to design a loyalist beakie chapter or an ork clan with at least one painted mini as proof of concept. The fluff, or rules, or whatever you want to use to explain your clan is up to you. Being bereft of ideas for Space Marines, I pulled an old idea out of my head for the Orks and spent today painting - I'll let the pics and "fluff" speak for themselves: Dear Mom,
Another world, another letter. This time we're stationed on 6319. Like Catacha, it's proximity to the sun makes it primarily a jungle world. Unlike Catacha, not all the vegetation is trying to kill us. Unless you count the Orks.
I know it must seem like that's all we ever fight. There were those "Bad Moons" on Kalk whose yellow armor made 'em easy targets against the black moon rock. There were the "Speed Freaks" on Rojo Prime, zooming 'round in their red trucks and buggies. There were even those Deathskulls a while back. The ones that tried to kill me with Johnny's own lasgun! But these new orks... they're the creepiest I've ever seen.
They emerge from the mists of this dreadful world at dusk, red eyes glowing with feral hunger. That's all you see at first. The eyes. Starting as red pinpricks in the distance, they get larger as the hulking shadows draw near, revealing a face... not the dark shade of green we've grown accustomed to, but stark white! I told you that some of the Deathskulls painted their faces blue, which seemed almost comical. But the way these orks smear their faces in white, it's like watching a floating skull. A floating skull with glowing eyes and pointy teeth. Just as their ghostly visage emerges from the shadows, a deafening bellow of "Waaaaaaaaaagh!" splits the air, and the battle begins.
Some of the men say this bellow comes from "The Albinork" - a towering monstrosity double the size of a normal ork and ten times as powerful. They say he's got a big metal claw for a hand that matches the Commander's power fist in sheer power! They say half of his skull's been replaced with cobbled together bionics.... And they say he's not green! He's solid white. Not from paint, they say he's born that way! An albino ork! Who could imagine such a thing? I bet that's why these orks paint their faces white. As tribute to their leader.
I won't go into detail about the fighting, because I know it just makes you worry. Suffice it to say, we're holding our own against these "whiteskins." They don't fight much differently than the other Orks we've faced, and for that I'm grateful. I'll take predictable brutality over tricks and traps any day. Billy overheard some brass talking the other day and they think we'll start to take the offensive in the next couple weeks.
I can't wait. The sooner we get off this rock, the better. I'll keep you posted. And thanks again for the cookies,
Your son, PFC Archibald "Bunker" Bobnowski - Catachan 8th I turn it all in on Saturday, but won't know the results 'till Sunday. Wish me luck.

Hmm, I wasn't actually expecting to win. Let's try this one (if you've seen the movie it might be obvious): LOVED that imagery. The whole dichotomy of using a French statue to symbolically bring liberty to a country abandoned by France blew my mind.

Man. If I actually owned any stock in UAL right now, I'd be PISSED at Google.
Since anything I ever hear about major airlines is how they lose money, if you had money in UAL I don't think you'd be smart enough to be pissed at Google.

I have it in my queue. It got mixed reviews when it came out, but I was intrigued enough by the trailer to want to see it.
+1. Trailer reminded me of The Cell, which was one of the most visually intriguing films I've ever seen. Unfortunately, the story couldn't come close.
