A destroyed convoy can be completed, but you get a reduced reward.  The best strategy I have come up with is to take out the middle vehicle with an EMP drone (park it on the road and wait until you see the whites of the radiator) then clear all the soldiers.

If you don't care about the reduced reward, just mine the hell out of the road just before they arrive.

This is a really great game that fixes the only problems I had with DR3 (which eventually killed that game for me)

1) No more timer.  Some people love that mechanic; I'm not one of them.  I want to explore the world, see most of everything, and be done in one play through.

2) No more weapon locker!!!  This feature single-handedly killed DR3 for me.  Once you can just grab the best weapons in the game out of a locker you no longer have to scavenge for anything, or even bother with new weapon blueprints. With that gone, there really wasn't much reason to play anymore.  Now you are stuck with whatever you can build while exploring.  Makes for much more variety in weapon use, and keeps at least a little challenge alive.

This happens to me all the time.  I just can't seem to find anything that gets me excited to play.  Usually what ends up happening is that I take a break and then stumble onto something that sounds exciting.  Usually this is a title that I played in the past and enjoyed but didn't get very far in due to something distracting me.

My latest re-energization is in the form of Mad Max.  I played it a bit when it came out, put it down due to who knows what, but remembered I loved it very much.  Rise of the Tomb Raider is actually another one I have to go back and finish.

Fire stays great into mid game as well.  I'm a decent way in and still have my trusty fire longsword for certain enemies.  It will likely because less useful as I pump up my damage stats, but it definitely helps a lot while you build your character (not worrying about damage stats early means more HP and stamina).

7 hours in and taking it nice and slow.  Currently standing outside the 2nd proper boss (did some co-op to help others kill him).  The game seems to start off harder as the timing and strategy of enemies is tweaked enough to make you have to change your tactics from previous games.  Now that I've played a bit and buffed up my character/weapon, I'm starting to get into the rhythm and am carving up baddies left and right.

Got a couple hours in this morning on the XBox1, and sweet mama I'm in love; if you are a Souls fan, this is a must buy.  Performance is perfectly fine so far, though I have only explored the intro/tutorial area and a portion of the first area proper.  A day one patch was downloaded that mentioned performance increases so perhaps it's a non issue now.

One boss down, so many more to go!

The word is that it wasn't originally intended to be a comedy but due to the fan reaction to the previous trailer (and probably Deadpool success), it is being retrofit to be more light hearted.

That's unfortunate because this game is fantastic (Fallout 4 sits next to the console unplayed as we speak).  It put it's hooks into me over the weekend and hasn't let go yet.  I was a big fan of the original and this one improves on it in nearly every way (though I agree some of the mentioned story beats are pretty cliche).  I'm especially jazzed to be raiding actual tombs and ruins this time around.  There are lots of nice open outdoor areas, but the game play pushes you into a lot of great underground areas; still not up to the level of something like Underworld, but a definite improvement over the reboot).  Combat feels a lot more exciting, the quick time events are spaced out a bit more and aren't the big focus they were in the last release, and there's just a nice level of polish over the whole thing.

Syndicate is far far better than Unity. The time period is fantastic, having two protagonists is really interesting and well done, and no bugs that I have run across.

It is definetly not a thinking man's action movie.  It just felt like I was watching a Monty Python take on Mad Max.
Silly attempts at humor, ho-hum story line.

Theron was terrible in the movie, Prometheus. And the same wooden performance was given in this movie.
Caught up in the hype, let down by the Movie.

60% would be the most generous score I would give.

So how does this work if you still have a copy of the original game but none of the expansions?  Do you trade that in and pick up Taken King for $60 or is there a cheaper upgrade path?  Do you have to install the originally Destiny first before getting the new stuff?  Am I over complicating this?

The new patch is awesome.  Got my cube last night; not too difficult, but the new area is really nice.  The changes to adventure mode are also very welcome.  New difficulty levels up to torment X, streamlined rift system, streamlined crafting, etc.  Definitely some nice additions from what I'm seeing so far.

The quote makes it sound more like they would focus on the "starting a new character from scratch with no support" aspect rather than the leaderboards.  I think with the whole season journey system being added in, there's lots to love about seasons on the console.  Leaderboards? Not so much.  Maybe keep the leaderboards but add "friends only" boards as well or something?

Like Hark, I prefer the console version (XBone)  as I think it actually plays better.  Plus these days I just can't sit at a computer and game anymore (and no I'm not hooking it into my home entertainment system).  The PC version has seasons though (which are nice), and secure online servers so you don't have to worry about randos with hacked characters.  I only play with friends though, so it's not a worry for me.

Oh, and yes it is definitely worth picking up!  It's a MUCH better game than it was at release, and the x-pack made it even better.  A new patch is coming out soon as well which adds a bunch of new features.

Heh... I've been playing a TON of this lately with a buddy of mine.  The nemesis system is absolutely fantastic.  Hearing that menacing horn and vibration; letting you know he is on his way.  Then clearing the area so you don't get overwhelmed.  My main takes him down without any issue at all now, but some of my lowbies have a real tough time of it. 

The game in its current state is really night and day compared to when it released (remember that horrible auction house??)  I really have yet to encounter another game that scratches that loot itch the way Diablo can... Borderlands gets really close.

Patch 2.3 also includes Season's Journey, a new interface to keep track of challenges related to your progress through the season.  I like the concept of season's quite a bit, but I'm too much in love with the console version to go back to PC.

Ernest Cline's latest novel Armada is now available.  I had it pre-ordered so it's sitting on my Kindle right now, but I haven't had time to read any of it.  I'll try to get a few chapters in during the day and report back on how it is looking later.  Anyone else pick this up yet?

or the fact that you have to see the boss (and almost always die) before you can even level up the first time so you lose all that progress

Your first point of insight is what actually triggers the ability to level.  This is easily accomplished by discovering the first boss, but you can also find a couple "madman's knowledge" in the sewer and consume one of those to get it up and running.

Fantastic game, definitely up there with Dark Souls the first.  There's a real HP Lovecraft feel to the whole thing that not many people are mentioning; more "scary" than the previous titles.  I'm progressing slowly (approaching boss 3 now), but am enjoying the hell out of the time spent.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Working through the workshop area to open up the next cathedral area, I ran across an enemy who had mass tentacles coming out of his face and a giant tube on the top of his head.  He grabbed me, wrapped me up and proceeded to suck my brain out of my head with that big tube.  Lost an insight level on top of the death, but man did that encounter make me jump!  Add the whole "great ones" cosmic god concept being hinted at and this is very much a Lovecraft inspired world.

Yeah I've just finished getting through the opening bit (co-op unlocked) and am really enjoying this game.  As others have said, the parkour takes a bit to get used to, but soon enough it feels plenty natural.  My current hangup with the controls is that I keep throwing firecrackers when I mean to kick someone.  Combat at the start is real hectic; you definitely feel weak and a simple one on one fight can turn a corner real quick when zombie buddies decide to show up.  Once you get a decent weapon (blue electro-pipe ftw) and become more situationally aware though, it gets easier.  I can survive mini-packs without too much issue now.  Hot tip... don't ignore those firecrackers.  They are crazy useful at least in the early game.

Don't be afraid to lower the difficulty for a fight you are having trouble getting through.  I think i remember having to bump it down for that fight myself the first time through, then jacked it back up right after.  The Act V bosses are all long and tough.

yeah the word is that driving is horrible first person.  You can supposedly set default camera settings for different modes (first person on foot, third person while driving, etc) so once you have a preference figured out, it's all automatic.

This is actually the first Call of Duty game that I can say I am enjoying.  Most years that I have bothered trying it out, I lose interest/get frustrated after a day or two tops.  hearing about the new mobility options (which I enjoyed in Destiny) got me to pick it up again this year and I am absolutely loving it.  I'm definitely not a very good player, but the gun-play and movement is fun enough that I don't really care.
