Great pics man.  I had completely forgotten about having to burn our crap.  Thanks a lot for reminding me!

83  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: EVE Online: Tyrannis on: May 25, 2010, 03:33:01 PM
I've been playing for the last couple of weeks.  Just been running level III missions and re-learning the game.  Having a blast so far.  Hoping to get into a corp sometime soon.  Going to hold off on PvP until I get a couple hundred mil in the bank and work some Pvpish skills up.  Currently have a Drake outfitted for mission running.  Got about 70mil sunk into it and a Cormorant for salvaging with 30 mil sunk into that.  I have 20 mil to my name so I am clearly not listening to the adage of don't fly what you can't afford to lose.  Good thing is the level III missions have been not too challenging in the drake and including salvage I'm now making a lot of ISK on each mission.  See ya'll in game.

I see where they added support for color blind players.  I wonder how that actually affects the game.  Would playing in that mode give an advantage to either color blind or normal seeing players?  Camouflage and hiding are a big part of the game.

BTW, loving the game.  Multiplayer is a blast and although the GT crews mostly plays Squad deathmatch and I really prefer conquest or rush it's still awesome playing with the guys.  Besides someone has to pad the other guys' stats.

My company has been a member of Angie's List for 2 years now I think.  Not a single call connected to them.  Probably related to the small market I'm in though.  I bet it works much better in large cities.
89  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Modern Warfare 2 Impressions [And official GT Review] on: December 10, 2009, 12:08:29 PM
Still having a lot of fun with this.  I pretty much play domination and merc team DM when not playing with GT/OO guys.  I've  been using FFA to get the unlocks, etc for the guns (currently level 50 and almost have everything For the ACR unlocked except extended mags (still haven't unlocked those for any weapon).

The akimbo 1887's bug me on occasion, usually when someone good is slaughtering me.  I pick them up whenever I can.  I quit playing the big domination and team deathmatch games because there is always 1 or 2 morons javelin glitching every time.  Also the rock glitch in afghan also always has a couple people in it so I avoid that entire section of the map.
90  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Modern Warfare 2 Impressions [And official GT Review] on: December 02, 2009, 04:46:31 PM
I looked up the supply crate glitch and man I know I've been killed a bunch by that trick.  Hope that and the javelin one get patched out soon.

Had a blast last night and even had a couple of good runs with a positive K/D ratio.
91  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Modern Warfare 2 Impressions [And official GT Review] on: December 01, 2009, 12:00:19 PM
Thanks Hark.  BTW my son is in awe of you and Kato.  I'm currently running around with Scavenger, Cold Blooded and Ninja with the M-16.  I like the scavenger so I can set up Claymore traps and then Cold Blooded and Ninja I think help a lot.  Will switch back to the M4 tonight and try to work on penetration kills when I can.

Have tried some of the sniper rifles and I like the 1st one but not liking either the W2000 or the Barrett. I think I should be getting hits with those two but people just never seem to go down.  Oh and I pretty much ignored the noob tube until I died like 15 times to some guy with it on wasteland.  Man that thing is sure handy when you know someone is around a corner or for just checking out an area before you run in.
92  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Modern Warfare 2 Impressions [And official GT Review] on: December 01, 2009, 11:47:59 AM
I'm having a great time with the game so far.  Much more fun when playing with friends.  My mic should be up and running today or tomorrow (whenever I can get to Wal-Mart).  I have not had very much luck at all unlocking the 40 penetration kills with FMJ.  I've been trying to unlock the M4, SCAR H, and M-16.  That dang FMJ kill requirement is the only thing left on the M4 and SCAR.  Any tip on what counts as a penetration kill or hints on easiest maps to do this on?

BTW it is usually my son and I playing and we alternate maps so when we are playing and you see me with 4 kills and 10 deaths that's me, 10 kills and 4 deaths,  that's the 15 year old smile.  I think I'm getting blind as he can see people I never see in the distance.

Echo everything said about the ridiculous levels.  Hey look 18 more badguys with pinpoint accuracy...yay.

I was able to play some DM fine but wasn't able to hook up with a friend for spec ops without bypassing my router.

Thought I had all the ports forwarded ( lists 3074, 80, 88 & 53) but I'll check out Harks link.

edit: meh lists the same ports.  Stupid router be more cool.

I has issues for a long time with my 360 and MP.  Finally Chromehounds made me decide to find a way to fix it.  It turn out it was my modem blocking ports.  I had to bridge my modem, set up a static IP for my 360 and then set up a DMZ for my 360.  No issues at all after that.  Of course,  I'm probably security swiss cheese after that but at least I can play.

Cortilian has started up a Wanderers guild on Khyber so please feel free to send him a tell and let him know you're from GT if you are interested.  You have to be in Stormreach to join, apparently, so most of us haven't quite reached it yet, but should be getting there this weekend.

As an added note that I just found out you can send guild 'sigils' to people via the mail system so we do not have to be online at the same time to send out invites to the guild.  Also,  several of the guild members have invite rights so you can get an instant invite if they are online.  Had a little server issue last night with it crashing about 10ish.  Hope that doesn't keep up.  Server is really busy.

Shoot me or Rittchard a PM in game and we'll send you a sigil so you can join.

From the Texas Consumer Bill of Rights for Auto Insurance:

Now, I thought there was something in there about if they say they want to total it, and I want it repaired, then they can subtract the salvage value of the car from the repair cost, and then cut me a check for that amount, but now I can't find that information anywhere.

You can do that.  The problem with that option is that you will, usually, end up with a salvage title for the vehicle.  The process to change that title back into a regular title in Texas I'm not sure of.  Oh, your leinholder will usually also have to agree to this type of settlement as well.
98  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Insurance Company Question (I think I'm getting screwed) on: April 21, 2009, 02:31:26 PM
Not in your state, not your adjuster, etc.

Generally vehicles are totaled at around 80% of their value.  Depends on state.  So, if they are saying that your car is worth $5200 then is totals out at $4160.  Your repair estimate is $4060 (high end) if I read your post correctly.  That is right at the value to total your vehicle.  Now, if you can get your shop to write an estimate for that figure with an guarantee that there would be no supplements over and above their estimate then you shouldn't have a problem getting the insurance company to go along with that.  What they are probably worried about is if once the car gets in the shop there is additional work to be done then they are over their total threshold.

The company is trying to fulfill their responsibility to you and the premium payers and you are right at the borderline of some ugly territory.  If they total your car they give you $4200 and then get to sell the vehicle for salvage and recoup some of the loss (plus tag + title fees, etc).  They can get several hundred to over a thousand dollars for your vehicle, depending, on the condition and market at salvage.  If the engine and transmission are good they are looking at decent salvage value.  Looking at the amounts involved if they total your vehicle and get $750 for it at salvage they are looking at a loss of $3450 and the claim is done and buried.  If they go with your repair estimate they are looking at a loss of $3060 with the possibility of a supplement coming in to raise their losses over what it would have been had they totaled it.  Note, this does not include any rental car, etc while in the shop.

Hope this helps.  If you can get a rock sold repair estimate for less than the total threshold of the vehicle you should be able to work with them.  Also you can always call your state's department of insurance and talk with someone there too.  Good luck.

I'm suffering on my rig with this game.   As I feared.

I have everything at Low.  2.0 shaders and no shadows.     Pretty disappointed.
I even had to turn the resolution way down.

To be fair I haven't upgraded my video card drivers for a LONG time.... maybe since purchase.   Maybe that will help?

Try this...

Set the graphics to High (seriously).
Turn shaders to 2.0
Turn off shadows.
Set 3D Dynamic Occlusion to low.
Turn anisotropic filtering down to a reasonable level.
Turn water reflections to ground only.

That should help quiite a bit. Oh, and update your graphic drivers.

+1 - Really.  Amazing difference for me.

We will absolutely be PvPing on the normal server.  The decision to not go with the FFA server was based primarily on the ability to maintain numbers in the game and the lack of ability to enforce security within the existing FFA ruleset.  There will be lots and lots of bloodshed on the normal server if I can do anything about it smile.

Welcome to the returning folks and the new peoples.  Good luck on the FFA server Hark and co.  You'll do fine.  Stay stealth and gank, gank, gank.

I swear to god if I see another current Wanderer slam Rage for what happened 4 god damn years ago, Im going to to flip.

He apologized. Multiple times. Hes resisted multiple attempts by you guys to slam him, attack him, or whatever else the hell has happened lately. Its like a witch hunt for a child killer, and its really sad. Its a game. GAME.
With events that occured 4. Years. Ago. 4. Years. Ago. Please guys lol.

Good luck starting a CG guild Rage, make sure to be aware ahead of time if you have the time required. As you know and the current Wanderers can attest, its a big responsibilty!

Good luck with the new guild.
