A few people I know get enjoyment out of solo play but most people prefer playing cooperatively with some kind of voice chat.  Half the time, if I don't see anyone I know on, I don't bother playing at all unless it's to learn a new champion or something.

Luckily the size of the EU mumble >30 people means its usual to have quite a few premades kicking off in the EU time zone smile

Is there a link to the mumble server anywhere?

Before we cuss you out for feeding and ruining our lives on the interwebs because you shot our ELO to hell.

Hop into TheWanderers channel.  We'll run you through some games an help you with the ropes.  The community is brutal because, well, they can be and in order to win you have to have all 5 people trying to win and playing smart.  So perceived un-smart play will get you reamed from pillar to post.

Go here: and read up on the champions you want to play.  Eventually you will want to play a lot of them even if you aren't great at some of them.  Playing champ A all the time will only make you fair to good at playing champ A.  Playing champ A,B,C and D will give you insight into how to best defeat A,B,C and D and will enable you to be a great player of champ A.

See ya around.

I would consider St. Augustine; it's got history, typical beach town attractions, Ripley's Believe It or Not!, a pirate museum, and Anastasia State Park is nice and is right on the beach.

St. Augustine is pretty awesome.  You and your wife will probably love it. The historic district, Alligator Farm, Ripleys, The kids would probably love the Cape more but St Augustine Beach is better.

DO NOT stay at Vilano Beach.  Stay at St. Augustine Beach.  Vilano is made up of crushed sea shells and is awful.

Oh yeah.  You missed it in the book.  It's subtle in book 1 but in the other 3 it's pretty overt.

Wow, the scene between Cersei and Robert in this episode was really powerful. I don't think they ever got to have that moment in the books.

Spoiler for Hiden:
I think they were just setting up a more visible (to the viewer) reason for her to kill the king in the next episode.  Even in the books it's clear she loves her children.  Even Jaime doesn't do that much.

Spoiler for which book?:
book 3

Spoiler for Hiden:
I assume you're talking about the red wedding? Cause, I mean.. yeah. That was quite possibly the most jaw-dropping moment I've ever experienced in a book ever. He keeps throwing in little pieces of foreshadowing, hinting that it isn't going to turn out well, but then it just goes about 100 levels beyond how bad I thought it could ever possibly get.

Yeah,  that is exactly what I'm talking about.  I'm now into book 3 of my audiobook re-read and am getting almost to that point.

BTW can we get Roy Dotrice to put the tech manuals I'm supposed to be reading into audiobook format,  please?

I know exactly the scene you are talking about and I was the same.  When I finished the chapter I re-read it to make sure I understood what just happened then put the book down for a week.

Hey fellas just an update on the Wanderers, the queue in Sunrest is at 520 right now.  We are going to have to move, the question is to where.  Front runner for the move right now is Molinar but it's not 'official' yet but the server has been in Medium pop all week and only hits high on occasion. Later on that may make issues with world PvP but we can worry about that then, I suppose.

We are going to wait until 10PM EST for a final decision but if nothing drastic changes in Molinar's makup before then that's probably where we will be going.

As for prices - we have friends that had quite a bit of remodeling done inside their house - at $150 per hour.

Another note.  If at all possible,  never do a job on an hourly basis.  Always have the contractor bid out the whole job.  If you work by the hour he'll find a way to stretch it out for days and days.
61  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Need remodelling suggestions/advice on: February 07, 2011, 07:29:34 PM
Congrats on picking the 2 most expensive rooms in the home to remodel smile.  Catch me on vent if you have any particular questions.  Understand what you want to accomplish and what you can 'live' with.  In the bath if you are moving any of the drain lines be prepared for sticker shock.  Also

Ever give your contractor the last check without getting a notarized release of lein that all the subs have signed.

Our average bath remodel for a 10X10 unit is about 8500-12500

Our average kitchen runs about 20K

Good Luck

Yeah, it could have been a lot worse.  Had about 50mil in the Drake,  Got about 150 in the Raven smile.

I'm going to have to redo how I handle wormholes.  How I was handling it was that usually Selari and I would find the wormhole and then I'd go inside the hole in my cloaked scanner to see if there was anything good.  If there was I'd grab my Drake and then we'd all go killing and handle it as a duo.  That's going to have to change.  Going to to have 3 people now.  2 do do the killing, mining, etc and 1 to sit as guard and look for ships in the area.

Oh well.

I was debating getting one of these too, but model a1 or a2, with blu ray and 1080p, but the length of battery life killed it for me.  some reviews were saying 2 hours on battery power.

Yeah, battery life on this machine is not long at all.  2 hours is probably right in the area.  On a very good note though is that it is very cool.  There are 2 fans that exhaust out the rear and heat has not been an issue at all.  This isn't a computer I plan on depending on the battery for at all.  It's mostly a 'more portable desktop'.

I would have loved to ge the Blu-Ray and higher rez screen but it just wasn't in the budget. (says the guy who just bought an SSD for a boot drive)
76  Gaming / Multiplayer Madness (MMO or otherwise) / Re: EVE Online: Tyrannis on: August 16, 2010, 11:44:08 AM
Look us up.  I'm on most nights.  I've been working on skilling up survey skills as I've found a love for finding wormholes and hidden places.  Also, the sleeper areas of wormholes can be quite lucrative.  Level 4 missions are probably still better but this is more fun.  I was on a 60 day plan to get a Golem but it's turned into more of a 90 day plan as I've gotten interested in other things on the wayside.  However right now I've got a great little fleet and can do most anything I want:

Osprey - My miner can 'almost' keep up with an exhumer which drives the exhumer guy i mine with crazy btw.  Can hold 3 drones also to handle the rats so no guns needed.
Cormorant - My awesome salvage ship.  This gets used every day.
Heron - Cloaking survey ship.  Used to find and scout wormholes for cool stuff.  Wormholes are 0.0 space so anyone can kill you without consequence so I cloaky survey to make sure the area is clear.
Drake - level 3 mission runner and wormhole Sleeper site killer.  Can crash level 3 missions and is great at the wormhole sites.
Raven - Level 4 mission runner.  I'm 1 skill from having my Raven fitted exactly how I want it but the training time on it is 7 days so I've been training other things 1st smile.  This is a great ship for a bunch of different things but I've been using it mostly for running level 4 missions.  Eventually this ship will be upgraded to a Golem but that's still about 60 days out smile.

See you in game.
77  Non-Gaming / Off-Topic / Re: Yeehaa! New gaming laptop! Whats your rig? on: August 16, 2010, 11:30:03 AM
Woah! 18" screen.  Niiice.  Not portable, but nice.

I got this a couple weeks ago.  It seems to have driver issues with the graphics drivers but those are getting worked out.

# Intel® Core™ i7-720QM processor
# 6GB DDR3 memory
# Multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support
# 17.3" LED-LCD high-definition plus widescreen display
# 500GB Serial ATA hard drive (7200 rpm)
# ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 graphics
HDMI port for connection to an HDTV.
3D Audio with EAX Advanced HD 4.0 and 2 built-in stereo speakers.

So far is just screams through everything I've thrown at it.  I'm still using the reference drivers from Dec-09 because updating the graphics drivers right now seems to muck things up unless you jump through a lot of hoops.  I have a SSD on the way and once I get that in I'll fiddle with updating the graphics drivers.

The screen resolution is limited to 1600X900 which hasn't been a big issue for me but for $1,200 clams at BB I very happy with my purchase.

Note mine is also not portable.  It's big and not light and the listed battery life is, well, generous.  However, for sitting in my easy chair and playing Eve or League of Legends or Starcraft II and not getting wife aggro because I'm no longer holed up in the computer room is well worth it.
