Stuntman Ignition on the 360 was one of my favorite games of the past year. It's still "repeat until you get it" driving, but when you fail and retry, there's virtually no loading time at all, which takes a lot of the sting out of retries. Plus, the levels are so over the top and awesome, it's still fun even going back and retrying many times to max your score. Highly, highly recommended if you have a 360.
Agreed. A tremendous game. And tremendously underappreciated.

Played a bit today and like it a lot. My only gripe with the new swing mechanic is that it's hard at this point to judge stuff between 50-90%.
One tip for this is to hit R2 just prior to your shot. The camera will change to a side view of your golfer that makes it considerably easier to gauge the percentages. This is just a phenomenal game, btw. I am having an absolute blast!

Anyone pick up the oasis pack?
I watched the videos of the tracks on youtube for guitar. Very nice, easy tracks, with a few tricky parts. Probably tier 2 difficulty.
Also, anyone snagged the latest OXM with three songs? Do those copy to the HD?
And what's up after? The rumored U2 pack? I hope so.
The OXM songs do copy to your HD. And I have indeed heard rumblings that U2 is on the way...

At this point in my life, I don't stay up late at night playing games. Work, family, etc. make this impractical (to say the least) Last night I installed The Witcher and fired it up around 11:00 pm intending to have a quick look at the opening movie before I went to bed. When I looked up it was 2:00 am. This is a good game.

I have a problem and would appreciate any help that any kind soul can give.
I put the Ratchet & Clank disc in my PS3 tonight and the message came up asking to install the update (1.94 I believe). I carefully let it install the update and then -- as explained onscreen -- the console rebooted itself. Okay no problem so far. The Ratchet & Clank disc starts up automatically and then a message appears that it needs to test my system or something and that it will take 95 to 100 seconds. I let it do this -- everything appears to work fine. In about a minute or two the main menu for Ratchet and Clank comes up. I check out the "Options" menu -- but don't change anything. I'm about to click on "New Game" but remember at that point that I wanted to make sure my console display settings were at 720p. So I quit out of the game back to my console "desktop". I check my settings and the display settings are indeed at 720p.
Here's where things go BADLY wrong. When I insert the Ratchet and Clank disc again to start it up, the machine does not appear to read it. I try other discs and it it will not read those either! Not other PS3 games, not PS2 game discs, not DVDs! Nothing!!
I checked my system settings to make sure that "Autostart" was on for discs -- and it was. I turned off the console and turned it back on. No luck! It still will not read any discs of any kind. I tried starting up a demo that was already installed to my hard drive and that DID work. I went into my "Game Data Utility" folder and found a R&C entry. I deleted it in desperation, rebooted my system -- still nothing!
I deleted some files from my hard drive (having read about the bug) and that did not solve the problem. I went into the PlayStation store and tried to download a trailer and a demo. Neither one would reach 1% of downloading.
What the *&^* is going on here??????????????? Someone, please help...

Real dumb question, but I didn't see it in the manual: When you join a multiplayer game, you pick your car and then just wait?? The dot beside my name was red and I was nervous that I needed to do something to make it green or something.... (I actually quit out in case I was holding everything up)

I have HDMI input on my TV, I don't have it on my receiver. So if I want 5.1 sound I need to use the optical out, can I use that with HDMI? Or can I do Bluray in 720p through Component with no issues? That goes for games and movies. I am just trying to figure out what cables I need to get before I go get one of these beasts.
You can use your optical cable along side the HDMI cable. That's what I do. You just go into the Settings menu on the PS3 and select optical out for the sound. Works fine.

Unfortunately the patch didn't help with the startup problems. I had to try 5 times and had to reboot Windows twice due to freeze-ups. On the upside, once I did get into the game I had a blast and could barely drag myself away from it!

Well, I reinstalled and had the same problems getting in, but eventually succeeded (after about 5 tries) and spent a very enjoyable 2 hours playing the game! Reducing the graphics levels smoothed everything out nicely and I really am enjoying it. My only concern is that I will probably have the same problems each time I start it up with the game claiming I do not have the disc in the drive (or the other one where an error message pops up that the game's 'exe' file encountered an unexpected problem) Maybe a patch will address these problems, or perhaps it's just something funky with my particular configuration. Very much enjoying the game though! Thanks to everyone for chipping in with support on my question!

The CD Key is on the back of the manual.. At least it is for me.
The back on my manual has the following: "Get more now! Register online today at http://www.gameregister.com to receive special offers and the inside scoop about Atari products! Your privacy is assured. For more information about our privacy policy, visit http://www.atari.com/us/privacy." Then there is a blank space. At the bottom is the copyright information ("Silverfall c2007 Monte Cristo Multimedia. ... etc.") To the right of that is Atari, Inc.'s address. To the right of that is Monte Cristo's logo. To the right of that is Atari's logo. And, finally, to the right of that is a Part # with 5 digits and one Letter Is the Part # the CD Key? 'Cause that's all I have on the back of my manual. Were you asked to input a CD Key when you installed from the disc? I wasn't, so I'm wondering why there's one on the back of your manual... Can anyone else who bought a physical copy of the game for a B&M store, verify the location of the CD Key and if you were asked for it when you installed. I really would like to get this to work. I payed full price yesterday at the Future Shop in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. (Maybe it's the Canadian copies??)

I'm honestly glad some of you guys are enjoying this, but I really regret buying it this afternoon. After theinstallation was complete, when I have tried to start up the game, it routinely refuses to recognize the disc in the drive. It has froze up my system twice, and on the one occasion I did get into the game, it ran fairly poorly. Now I could live with tinkering with the graphic settings to get it to run more smoothly. But I will not put up with the other stuff -- what appears to be a very particular copy-protection scheme. Does anyone know what copy protection is being used here? I have a fairly up-to-date system and have had no trouble running lots of other recent games. I think you should be able to put your CD key into steam and download and run the game through steam if you want to avoid the sucky copy protection. That's what I had to do with Dark Messiah to get it to run in Vista. If you don't want to run steam, I can't help ya. I appreciate the suggestion but I can't find a CD key anywhere on the disc, container or manual. I was not asked for one during the installation process either, so I think they are depending soley on the built-in copy protection. Thanks for trying to help!

About the random drops, I watched my wife play her first game of the demo Saturday night and we both had the impression that the AI was getting some extremely lucky drops later in the match. When I played yesterday it didn't seem quite so bad -- I got a couple of lucky drops too. I am wondering if some of the massive turns the opponent seems to get are just him casting a spell or two to augment things. The opponent's turn goes by very quickly and sometimes it's hard to keep track of what's going on. Maybe the drops for him aren't as amazing as they at first appear to be....

I don't have numbers backing me up, but it seems like small games like this would be better, as a product to sell, on a handheld console. I don't get the impression Popcap is making a lot of money on the PC, but could be wrong. But games like Meteos and Tetris and Brain Age end up being huge sellers.
My impression is that Popcap is making out like bandits with their PC games, but I could be mistaken. I downloaded the demo of Puzzle Quest this weekend and ... OMG .... what a game!! I am very impressed and can't wait to get my hands on a full version! (I have a DS copy preordered at my EB, but am wondering if the PSP version might be better ....)

I got friggin' NOWHERE playing Street Fighter on XBLA!! Ridiculously hard -- and, yes, this was on the easiest difficulty level. This is one of the clearest cases I have seen of game programmers being out of touch with the average player.
