I'm not into console gaming much - I have horrible dexterity, etc. Trying to figure out what button to push literally gives me a headache. ABXYTrigger1Trigger2, etc. Probably not harder than the PC, but I'm used to pcs. I'm obviously not an action gamer so I realize that I am a dinosaur in the gaming world.
This is me, too, so I probably won't be going into the gaming forum anymore. Not that I posted much in the PC Games forum anyway. I did like to lurk there, but I'll cope. Sadly I am finding myself in this boat as well. I don't do console gaming anymore, haven't owned a console in over a year now. I dipped my toe into the new combined forum, pretty much saw a bunch of PS3/360 threads and decided I am likely not going to go back in to try and sort through to find the PC threads. That leaves me with reading off-topic now and again, and using the new analog games section to discuss the D&D campaign. I hope you have another seat in that boat for me as well. The last console i owned was a PS2, and I only played about 3 games on it. PC gaming is the only gaming that interests me. That's the main thing that really bugs me about visiting NeoGAF; they sometimes have very interesting debate topics but it's mostly "contaminated" with console games I've never heard of and have no interest in. I really have to dig around for the PC game posts there. But I'm aware that GT is not NeoGAF and as long as topics here have headers indicating console/PC type, it might still be tolerable.

I openly admit I cheated a lot with a trainer. I wanted to experience the entire game and complete it without getting too frustrated. Some of the end bosses in that game (especially the optional ones) are exceptionally crazy difficult. Abilities also open up that are so powerful they have their own 3D rendered cut scene of epic proportions. Maybe all this is common for Final Fantasy games, I can't say as FF7 is the only game in the series I've played.
The story and the atmosphere was quite nice and the game surprised me by being much more varied than I expected. There are lots of nice mini games, a sequence on a snowboard, and even a short RTS sequence. Normally I'm not compatible with RTS games, but luckily this one was short and cute enough for me to complete it. Tons of content and a unique experience, but in the end it still felt long and wearisome. A much shorter game would have been fine with me, and I was proud I at least managed to complete it once (even though I cheated with health).
And then I heard about a few acquaintances that not only completed the game, but did so a dozen times or more! This is completely incomprehensible to me given the fact that the game is as long as it is. They must have a different relationship with games. I've always had this "finished that, next please" thing with games myself.

example-Spidey is pretty famous for his one liners or bating the bad guys,we pretty much don't get that here(you saw the only instance in the trailer with the Car Jacker)
Disappointing. I remember that shot from the trailer and thought they might finally rectify it in this movie, since that's one of the things I loved so much about Spider-Man in the old comics. Strange that they're cautious about this, especially since cute one liners were in abundance in The Avengers (one of many reasons that movie was so excellent).

Does anyone know if QT3 is closed to new signups? I followed the instructions, did what I was supposed to do, and I've been waiting for close to a month to be approved (same name as here).
Are they closed to signups? Do I have to offer someone sex or something? Anyone know what gives over there?
I have that problem on NeoGAF. Registered in March and I still can't post anything. I even tried e-mailing them twice about the activation, to no avail.

I thought driving around in the Mako was wonderful. The almost barren planets with lots of mountains, rare monsters and structures really worked for me and helped making it feel genuinely alien and unique. Really refreshing. The first time I drove around on a planet I couldn't help but think of Koronis Rift on the Commodore 64.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Jane Jensen Kickstarter
|

Sure is a lot of Kickstarter projects popping up now. Here's one for an adventure game by Jane Jensen, creator of the Gabriel Knight adventure series. Pinkerton Road is the new game studio started by game veterans Jane Jensen and Robert Holmes. Our focus is 3rd person adventure games for PC and tablet with rich stories, gorgeous art and seamlessly fun play. The studio will use a new model, "Community Supported Gaming" (CSG) to fund and develop their games.
Jane is known for games with complex, dark plotlines ala Dan Brown. She created the Gabriel Knight adventure game series at Sierra On-Line and the recent Gray Matter. And in the past eight years, she designed and directed leading casual games including Women’s Murder Club, Dying for Daylight and Deadtime Stories at Oberon Media/I-Play Studio. Now she's returning to her roots and founding an adventure game studio. Robert, Jane's husband, produced GK1 and has written music for many of Jane’s games. His endlessly hip band, The Scarlet Furies, did the toe-tapping themes in Gray Matter and Dying for Daylight.
The Pinkerton Road studio is located on a remote outpost of gamedom -- Jane and Robert's farm in Lancaster County, PA. You can later vote for the first adventure game to be made. I pledged $16, but I admit that I'm much more excited about the upcoming Tex Murphy Kickstarter project.

I wonder if Kickstarter backers are going to hit classic franchise fatigue before too long...
I've been wondering about that too. I hope it's not too late when the Tex Murphy Kickstarter starts on May 15, because I really want that one to be a success.

Good old adventure classics more or less from the same mold as the Blade Runner adventure game: The five Tex Murphy adventure games Mean Streets, Martian Memorandum, Under a Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive and Overseer. The two first may be a bit old and iffy now; I would probably skip those today. Among the five in the series, I particularly liked Under a Killing Moon and The Pandora Directive, both had great stories and some good humor. Chris Jones is wonderful as the classic detective with loads of bad luck. The last game in the series ended in a cliffhanger, but luckily they later added a radio theater show in six parts that continued the tale. The old Beneath a Steel Sky by the makers of the Broken Sword series is also very recommended, and you can even play it for free today in ScummVM. Another one by the same company is In Cold Blood which I also thought was marvelous. There was even one point inside a dilapidated underground lab where the game managed to jump-scare me quite effectively. I never expected that one. Rise of the Dragon also had that Blade Runner atmosphere, and I recently watched a video walkthrough of it just for the nostalgia.

I finally won the fight and completed Doomsday! Being judicious with the interrupts was definitely the key. While I did use a med pac, I actually had more than half my health when I won, which was surprising.
I must say it feels anticlimactic to get new quests on Ilum after this one - particularly since I can't get any more exp. I'm not sure I'll bother. Is this continued quest line worthwhile? Is the storyline good?
Congratulations! So, how many times did you attempt it before you finally succeeded? As far as I remember the groups get bigger in the storyline on Ilum, so watch out. There's also a boss in the end of one dungeon that will call upon any previous group of mobs you haven't cleaned out, so make sure you clean up the dungeon before you attack her. I was killed once (or was it twice?) because of this. The most ridiculous thing was that I had a suspicion that BioWare might do this while leveling up, so I often cleaned out boss areas before trying the boss. And then finally on Ilum I slacked, thinking they probably wouldn't do it anyway, and then they went ahead and did exactly that. I always have bad luck with these things. The final gold boss on Ilum killed my tank companion and myself (got close though) in the first attempt as well. Instead of trying multiple times with my tank companion I thought of the boss in the end of the Jedi Consular storyline and immediately switched to my healer companion instead. Again it was like turning on easy mode and he died pretty quickly. After checking out the dailies on Ilum and Belsavis once, I leveled an Imperial Agent to level 16, a Trooper to level 10 and a Sith Inquisitor to level 11 just to see the last planets. Among these classes I was particularly disappointed in the Sith Inquisitor, which I thought had an unnecessarily hard time on Korriban. Some of the later quests were one or two levels above me and I actually had to grind a level to keep up and not get killed too much. There was even one quest, "The Blood Legacy" (a boss is spawned after dropping a skull into a blood pool), where I was killed by the gold boss at level 6 and level 8. I only succeeded the third time when I returned with a new companion I had just acquired. I found a discussion thread on the official forum with the usual chess board "Too hard!" and "Very easy!" alternating posts, but some mentioned that the boss can glitch and sometimes be more difficult than it should be. After having seen all the planets I unsubscribed. That's enough for now.

I have a level 50 Jedi Knight. I am at the final fight of the class story against (spoiler), and I just can't even come close to winning it. I hope they really do patch it to make it easier like they said they would. I know some people have done it, and I have watched a youtube of someone doing it, but I just can't even get close.
I feel your pain. I did the last class story boss for Jedi Consular yesterday, and it was also rock hard. At least until I discovered that an effect I thought was "get out of the fire" later turned out to be "interrupt his ability to create the 'get out of the fire' situation" instead. Even so, I died about 10 times with a tank companion because the boss did so much damage that I wasted too much time healing my tank companion up and too little time doing damage. To make matters worse, they've made it so the respawn-on-the-spot ability adds up time for repeated use. After a while I also broke my gear and had to go back to the medical droid anyway. Going back to the cave with the boss then had to go past two or three groups of standard enemies, which felt extra punishing since I really wanted to get into the action quickly again. Then after the many deaths with the tank companion, I tried summoning my healer companion instead. It was like night and day. Suddenly the boss fight was completely easy mode and I killed him in one try almost without sweating. My healer companion healed me up so masterfully I barely had to support it with my own heals at all. I could pour a lot of damage and interrupts at the boss and in no time he was down. So my advice is to try with different companions. You might get lucky with a combination that works a whole lot better because it leaves you time to deal with something you didn't have time to do before. That being said, and now that I've completed the story line for the Jedi Consular, I really think most of the SWTOR boss fights are way too difficult. Especially the end of chapter bosses. Some of them didn't feel remotely fun but quickly became something I had to get past. I imagine a lot of casual newcomers to SWTOR trying out an MMORPG for the first time, lured in by the great voice acting, the stories, and of course the Star Wars universe. They might never have a chance of passing these end bosses no matter how much they try, scaring them away for good. I really hope BioWare comes to their senses and tunes these bosses down a bit. By the way, after killing the story end boss I read a thread on the official forum about this fight, and a few posters mentioned that the story end boss for Jedi Knight is even worse!
