Im not really sure Id want to save $25 to buy the new Kindle Spam.
This. I really don't know why they didn't use this opportunity to take the price of the Kindle south of $100 for the first time. I really like my Kindle, and it's my preferred way to read a book... except that I never use it. It's hard to compete with $4 for a used copy of a book, especially if I can put that $4 into a local store.
I've been going to used bookstores less because I prefer reading on my Kindle now. Plus I have too many unread physical books taking up space around me.

I got bored this weekend and installed the 14-day demo from Steam. I have to say, it's VERY polished and less daunting than I initially thought it would be. However, I can see there's quite a lot of depth I haven't been exposed to yet. Within my first hour of playing, I was asked to join a corp, but declined because I wanted to explore the initial stuff first (agents and the like). As of when I logged off last night, I now have just under 2.5 million ISK and a handful of ships (a couple I couldn't even fly yet due to lack of skill). Couple of close calls too (warped away just in time though).
Once I finish the agent stuff, I'll probably do some exploring. If I'm still not bored, I'll sign on for 3 months.
Anybody here still playing?

There were people moaning and groaning about the delay on sites like joystiq, claiming they don't see the connection between what happened in Japan and this game. I wanted to track these people down and slap some sense into them.

I watched the show for Hathaway and wasn't really disappointed. She looked stunning throughout. The rest of the show....meh. The best bits were within the first half hour it seemed.

I hope the Uncharted video was just meant to show off the system's capabilities, and you don't actually have to play the game that way.
Same here - but based on how he was talking it seemed like touching the screen was an alternative to standard controls. Is it just me or wouldn't the touch screen much the jumping puzzles far too easy?

When you log in through Kindle (3G), it seems to go through a US server, presumably Amazon's, even though I'm in Canada. That could explain the suspicious activity warning. I had the same thing happen to Facebook, if I recall correctly.

I'm willing to pay more just to not have a physical book to carry around and I don't have to go to a store or wait for a book to be delivered (well, I have to wait, but it is a few seconds). It's cheaper than what I used to pay, so I don't consider it higher. I guess I see your point, but since I never do bookswaps, the point is irrelevant in my instance. So, yeah, I pay more than you, but the higher price is worth it for what you get.
You have excellent points there as well, different strokes for different folks, as they say. Does Amazon make a lot of public domain books available as free downloads to the Kindle? Borders has been pushing this in their emails to me, trying to convince me that I really, really want a Nook instead. You can always visit Project Gutenberg and download the .mobi version, straight from your Kindle.

Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Sony Removes Linux from PS3 Phat

The latest update from Sony will remove Linux support from the PS3. You have the "option" of keeping "Other OS" support by not installing the update, but in doing so, you are no longer allowed to sign onto PSN, download updates etc. Not really an option, is it?
Now I'm guessing nobody here uses the PS3 as a linux box on a regular basis, but man is that a shitty thing for Sony to do. As I recall, Linux support was a selling point of the PS3 way back when (as was BC, SACD etc., but those were hardware removals).
Now taking away a feature "nobody" uses may not seem like a big deal, but man it just doesn't feel right. Whether I use it or not, it is a feature I paid for. It would be akin to car company removing a 12V power outlet from the back of your car when you go in for service: you have the option of keeping the power plug, but can no longer get dealer service or parts. Now, you may not USE the plug, but can the car company offer an ultimatum like that on an advertised feature?
What's next, pulling PS1 support so you can only play their rereleases from PSN?

I finished Farscape, including the Peacekeeper Wars. I don't think I can rate it more than a B minus. Just too many filler episodes and pointless plotlines for me, and not really enough character development beyond the two main ones.
I actually think that because Browder and Black (Browder especially though) were so hands on, it ended up hurting the show. Strange I know, but a few of those episodes were big vanity pieces, and others were weird for weird's sake, or just trying too hard to be clever. I think a couple of those three episode arcs could easily have been condensed into two.

Mine continues to run obnoxiously loud, but I think that's been the case since day one. The PS3 you barely know it's on. Hasn't died yet, knock on wood.
Aside from swapping hard drives, how hard is it to transfer content to a new drive? There's a cable to do it, right?

Okay here is a list from John Hopkins. It is a list of the components of a Vaccine http://www.vaccinesafety.edu/components-H1N1.htm24.5 mcg Mercury (It is used to counter bacteria from the viles) http://vran.org/about/ Canadian based There are risks to both actions. There is a risk in not getting vaccinated and there are risks when getting vaccinations. I just don't see why a person that is not in a "high-risk" category would inject this into their body. Health Canada says the amount of mercury in the H1N1 vaccine is less than that you would ingest in a can of tuna. Boycott the tuna!

Agreed Fumoffu is better, but we're probably alone in that as most anime fans seem to prefer the 1st series. I had a copy of the 1st series and it's 1 of the few I've ever traded away. My ability to trade it at a decent price very quickly, gave me the impression its still very popular.
Generally it's a toss up between Fumoffu and 2nd Raid being fans' preference. The first series is almost always everyone's least favorite. Fumoffu is by far the funnier one, but I feel you need the first series as a backdrop to appreciate Fumoffu. I didn't think TSR was that memorable really.

Saikano
That's just cruel. My suggestions have pretty much all been said: Cowboy Bebop Trigun Irresponsible Captain Tylor - A 20-year-old becomes captain of a rusted out space battleship. Is he a genius or an idiot? Planetes - Near-future garbage collectors in space Full Metal Panic (then Fumoffu) Excel Saga - Pure insanity Shopping District Abenobashi - Homages galore, for the true anime, j-culture fan.
