However, a game like Bioshock is not something I really want to be "comfortable" with. It requires your attention at all times, and I largely prefer sitting in the dark with my monitor, so I can be 100% concentrated on the game and nothing else.

I plan on breaking out my headphones for when playing it at my PC myself.

I figure we won't see Episode 3 until mid-2009, and HL3 no earlier then 2012....

I'm sure there will be filters and such.  They do seem a bit bright for a Batman movie.

The 40 second clock is obnoxious when one team is trying to run the clock.  I like the way it's accelerated in APF.  Well, truthfully, I prefer the way it's done in NCAA, but I guess I can't blame madden for that.

that's one trick I learned in my first game.  I also could have sworn that going out of bounds stopped the clock , but I guess I was mistaken.

I recently bought a new PC, with the works.

I'm considering just bringing my PC out to the living room, plugging it into the TV, and playing it there, not because I prefer the bigger screen, but because the native 720p resolution of our HDTV is lower than the 1680x1050 resolution and the game would run better.

The big issue with such setups is that it's hard to come up with a comfortable mouse/keyboard solution outside of a comptuter desk.

you could always get a 360 wireless controller and the adapter for the PC  icon_smile

so, I broke my Madden cherry and traded in a bunch of stuff for a copy of the 360 version.  I set up a game of Browns (me) vs Steelers on rookie (I know, I'm a fucking n00b).  I should have read the instructions first, because about halfway through the 2nd quarter I realized I could run if I held down the right trigger  icon_redface.  anyways, as the game moved on I seemed to be getting the hang of things (i still need to look at the manual) and I managed a 28-7 victory (I know, rookie game! rookie game!).  I'm not quite ready to be violated by my fellow GT'ers yet though.

Agreed. And besides - who puts their consoles vertical?

You want a nice faceplate, there's a relatively new one for Mass Effect that's horizontal. Currently decorates my 360.

Explain.

I've skipped Civ since II as I feel that it was obviously the most perfectly crafted game of all time.

What's better about IV? And what's better yet about IV: BTS?

I just installed CIv4 again the other day to try to figure this out. It intrigues me.

I've been told that since I love Civ 2 then I'd love Civ 4 because it feels like Civ 2 and not Civ 3.  Plus apparently the expansion pack gives a major boost to the Espionage gameplay.

Ike and I did come up with one way to tell though. See, I dont want to spoil one iota of the game, so I refuse toplay the demos. Ike and I came up with this: Try to rent the 360 version tuesday. If I cant, just buy the 360 version. Play through the first hour or so, experience the awesomeness. Then, download the PC demo, which will hopefully be out by then, play that (since it has nothing left to spoil), and simply see what I like better. Worst comes to worse I go buy the PC version and sell the 360 version for a loss or keep it for my second runthrough. Its not foolproof, but its a decent idea.

I'm thinking about doing the same thing with Madden 2008 with a bunch of trades I have to take in.  I figure if I didn't like it I'll just trade it in right away towards the game on Tuesday, or possibly I could sell it to a friend that's thinking about getting it but won't be able to for a week or so.

Finish NWN2. You might not get into it again. I still cant get into the game. So slow at the start.

While I agree it starts a little slow, I actually lost interest in the final act, when all the keep management got real old real quick.

there was a bunch of it but most of it went by pretty quickly.  just exiting the keep to the courtyard and going back again would finish any construction project and the other decisions were fairly straight forward.  In a way it was actually kind of nice to have a place of your own in the game.

Thats my choice. I was going to try and finish NWN2 first. Im only at Neverwinter though and after looking at a walkthrough it seems Im a long way from the end of the game. I was afraid I could'nt enjoy 2 rpgs at once. Then again they are completely different types of RPGs.

So go ahead and install JE SE or plow through NWN2 first? Im having a great time with NWN2. Its really fun. but JE is calling to me from it's box.

they're both great games- I'd say stick with and complete NWN2 as I know it's hard to go back to games if you take a break from them.

from the sound of it you're probably 20-25 hours away from finishing NWN2 (unless you only do the main story quests) and Jade Empire is about 20 hours long.
