HL2/TF2 all the way.   I lurved me some Team Fortress back in the day and with the new styling it's sure to be a winner at our LAN parties.

Still pissed about there not being a "Hunted" mode though.

keep your lurv-fests to yourself  Tongue  No hunted mode?  that was the one mode I loved to play but could never get anyone else to at the LAN parties we used to have.  I imagine it will be modded in though.

This is definitely a thinking man's game.  I'm already thinking about how I can use the environment to my advantage.  There are two gun turrets in the area I hacked to fight on my side, and so if I manage to keep the Big Daddy in that general area the turrets may help at least somewhat.  And I'm anxious to use some of the specialty ammo I've picked up along the way.  I completely forgot about it, probably because all I had time to do was to say, "Holy.  Shit."  Tonight I plan to try again.

That's completely true, and one thing I really like when you compare it to other games.  Taking on a Big Daddy in a straight-up fight is pretty hard until maybe the last third of the game when you have really powerful ammo and weapons, but if you intelligently use the environment they can be kind of easy (like if you hit a Big Daddy standing in front of a camera with that security plasmid, or fight one in front of a hacked camera.  Unlimited sentries FTW!!).

yeah, the best fight I had with a Big Daddy was a TK fest.

Spoiler for TK Plasmid Talk:
too bad you never get an upgrade to TK.  I would have loved to have a TK3 where you could pick up enemies and toss them arround like dolls.

Well, their retention department seems to be good.  I called up and told them to cancel, since I've already waited a week to install and now they want me to wait another week.  Its not my fault that the guy that came out didn't have everything he needed to install the dish on the house!  So they gave me one month free, will give a credit for any "custom" job that they have to do, and sending out a "lead" technician - whatever that means.  They said they'll call me back tomorrow to discuss when they will install - I am not waiting another week (next week friday) for them to clear their schedule.  I'm also starting to think that its not DTV that is the problem, but these guys they outsourced installation to - in this case Ironwood Communications (which reading on the web has a bad customer service reputation).

apparently they are getting alot of new orders since they are one of the few companies carrying the Big Ten Network.  Here in Columbus they had a couple week backlog because the first 2 OSU games are only being shown on that network and the other cable companies currently do not offer it.

Yeah I had to get help on this one too.  There is actually a crawlspace over there that will let you in.  I couldn't really see it due to it being in such a dark area.  I forgot what was on the log itself but it was pretty useless and disappointing.

yeah, I wasn't sure if I had already discovered the thing it talked about or not.

What i don't understand is why the game makes it so damn easy with no 'death penalty'. At my first big daddy, after using a ton of weaps and kits, i think i just stood in front of the resurrection tube thing and wacked him with the wrench. I probably died 10-15 times.

Of course that's no fun and with the later weapons, i was able to take him down in a few shots.

Because the alternative is playing the save/reload game, and there is no death penalty involved in that either.

Also... this is the exact same mechanice used by System Shock (except didn't it cost energy to revive?).

they should have put in corpse runs  icon_wink

this isnt good for SONY,whatever the excuses are from either SONY or the individual companies that keep delaying their games,or making bad ports....someone has to sort something out,and that someone should be SONY getting onto the companies asses, and asking them what the f*&^ is goin' on!!....the PS3 deserves better than this, and so do we

there's nothing Sony can do about it though.  if they somehow forced a company to release a game and it was buggy the devs could just turn around and blame it on Sony.

I thinks it's coming down to what devs have been saying: that programming games for the PS3 is much more difficult than for the PC or 360.
