The beautifully done yet somewhat flat Infernal on Gametap got some playtime this weekend, as did the abortion that is Jaws Unleashed- trust me, save your bandwidth and don't even bother with Jaws.  Two Worlds is due for some playtime now.

I've done a number of consulting gigs in Edmonton over the last 7 years and have always liked the city. Sure it's cold in winter, but It only usually reaches 40 below for about 2 weeks of the year; usually about 0 degrees F. It may not be the best place to live but the populations about 700K now so there's definitely no shortage of places to go and things to do; trendy Whyte avenue comes to mind.

heck, even 0 degrees F is pretty darn cold.

what can I say?  those of us in the civilized parts of the country have developed indoor heating, so temperatures that cold tend to make us not like them  Tongue

umm... yeah.... if it's bubbling like that you might want to toss it.

I couldn't agree more - the soundtrack is great.  On the other hand, on the other hand, on the other hand, on the other hand, on the other hand, on the other hand, the voices tend to repeat,  the voices tend to repeat,  the voices tend to repeat,  the voices tend to repeat, when telling you what to do in your missions.  For instance, when I was inside the fortress, shaking the controller like I have epilepsy my commander is screaming at me to get in there and take out their fortress.  Uh...I AM in here.  Duh!

They get to develop an RPG engine for the DS on Sega's dime.  I'm guessing that's all there is to it.

I have no idea how good it's going to be, but hopefully it will lead to good Bioware DS games down the road.

I read this sentence in the replay value paragraph:

Quote
Lair is a beautiful game.  The artwork and environments can be awesome to behold, especially when running at 1080p.

But the graphics score is only 65?  Only 65 "awesome"?

did you read the next sentence?

Quote
Unfortunately this is coupled with a shakey framerate and odd graphical hitches that make the overall value drop significantly.

and he does point out it's the voice acting that brings down the Music/sound score (and it's also under cons too).

Quote
The music in the game has a great action movie feel with heavy swells during fights and pounding battle songs that maintain the atmosphere.  At some points it feels slightly overbearing, but the ability to tune the music independently helps curb that a bit.  It isnít until somebody opens their mouth that youíll start to hear the quality mismatch.

Even though I was hyping this game right up the wazoo prior to release, I decided not to pick it up, at least initially because the reports were that it was really absurdly short. Some people reported getting to the final (very fun and difficult) last level in literally 3-4 hours-thats just a bit too short for a game I likely won't replay. So I decided to either bite the bullet and rent it on 360 or wait till PC goes on good sale.

yep, that's enough to cause me to wait for it to hit $20 before buying it for the PC and no renting for me because I have no interest in playing it on the 360.

So those of you who have the silver one, how do you like it?  From pictures it seems to have more of the texture as what the older PSP had on it's back instead of the flat, shiny surface.  I think I would kind of like that better, since it wouldn't get fingerprints so easily.

and hows the battery life holding up?
