Happy Blackjack forgot to notice in the .5 patch "pre-notes notes":
Quote
We wanted to offer a quick note on the Invisible Party Members bug. We have good news and future good news. The good news is that we have identified why this is happening and have a couple of solutions for the problem. Unfortunately we made our discovery too late to include any fixes in this patch, so the future good news is that we’ll be addressing this issue in our next patch.
Oh boy, at least something to look forward to in patch .6!  disgust

Personally, I think they should just write the bug into the story...

"Satan's Watch, those horrible bugger demons, used their mystical powers of Hoohah to render the Living invisible to each other. The Living endeavored to bring the power of Visibility back to the fold, even though invisibility was much fun at parties and during shower times..."  nod

see, it's not a bug it's a feature!

well, this afternoon I had to put my oldest dog, Anubis, to sleep.  He had been suffering from a type of Lymphoma and things took a turn for the worse over the weekend.  The hardest part was giving the go ahead to do it, but it seems even harder watching the youngest trying to figure out where he went to.

try this from the team X-Box forums:

Quote
Try clearing your cache (hold the A button down while the game boots up) and see if that fixes it. That worked for me.

if that doesn't work then  :

Quote
Xbox 360 HDD cache clear code-

To perform the function, access 'memory' in the system blade, and then highlight the hard drive. Now press: Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X. The following message should appear: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"

If you initiate maintenance, the hard drive's cache will be cleared, including all software updates.

This won't delete saves, Gs or downloads.

I don't know, Calvin.  But that kind of question is one of the few reasons I like paging through strategy guides, at least the beginning of strategy guides.  They usually spend a chapter or two on character types and their skills.  It really helps me decide what type of character I want to play in games like this or Oblivion.

That being said, I don't even know if Mass Effect has a strategy guide, or if it devotes a chapter to this sort of thing.   icon_confused

I actually like to just dive in and see how things develop.  I usually get lucky and end up with something I like.
62351  Gaming / Console / PC Gaming / Re: Assassin's Creed Reviews on: November 19, 2007, 04:03:21 PM
I have to say this game does a great job of making you feel like a bad ass- there's nothing like taking down a group of guards quickly with your counterstrikes.  I have run across situations where it seems like the game is determined to damage me and won't recognize that I'm in the defensive stance against scrubs, resulting in me getting hit a bunch of times.  I've also had it recognize the counter outside of the defensive stance, which I didn't think was possible (I had just locked onto a target and hadn't hit the right trigger yet).  I'm also having a pain in the ass time using the throwing knives- I think I've only gotten them to work once and after that I've never been able to throw them (yes, I do have 5 in inventory after pickpocketing a thug) no matter how far I get from my target.

I finished my 3rd kill last night after returning the bad disc I got- no stealthy ones yet, although I'm pretty sure the first assignment in Jerusalem (the slave trader) is impossible to do silently.  Of course, if there's no witnesses then there's no one to tell you did it  icon_twisted

Mass Effect (though I'm not sure when I'll get to it) and Soul Calibur Legends (depending on the reviews).  I got a call that Kane & Lynch for the PC was going to finally be in today, but with Crysis and SoF3 sitting on the sidelines waiting for me to complete AC I may just put it off.
