Those DVDs you love so much, they’re the reason PS3 games are going to fucking destroy anything available on the 360. 85% of the games currently in development for PS3 will not fit on a single DVD9. To give you an idea of the implications, Resistance: Fall of Man is currently 20GB, and could be around 35GB once cinematics and things are added.

Aren't programmers complaining that programming for the PS3 is a pain in the ass?  Anyone want to bet that things are that big because they can't properly compress stuff?  Otherwise that game is going to have real life graphics and be about 60 hours long

What's weird is the download for Mechcommander 2 on the first link was ~480MB, while the 'official assets' to the game is ~780MB. Uncompressed files, or is it not the full download?

They are ISO's (cd-rom images) so you have to a program like the virtual cd program listed with them to access them.  When you do that, it installs the game just like it would from the CD, so I'd say everything is compressed.

Is it still too much of a sore point?  If so feel free to take it down, I just though it was kind of humorous (but I've been wrong before).

The demo was very fun, but I remember another demo from Eidos calle 'Total Overdose' which was fun, but the actual game was lacking.  I hereby dub this game 'RENTAL!'.
